I think it's perfectly reasonable to discuss the possibility that actions of the West in some areas, amongst many other things have contributed to the motivations and justifications of the extremists... they are extremists after all and so their reactions to *anything* are likely to be extreme compared to most 'normal' people. The clue is in the name. All that matters to them is that they have justified their actions to themselves, not to anyone else. And whether we think the West's actions in Iraq or anywhere are appropriate or not doesn't matter - but we should acknowledge that every aggressive action taken (whatever the reasons behind it) may lead to reactions in some shape or form. The long-term key IMO, is continuing to improve education across the world to increase basic tolerance and respect for others so that less people are tempted to a cause that completely lacks tolerance and respect for others in the first place.

I know a lot of fans fall for the big club sh!te, and it's understandable when said clubs are still in the top league and are, y'know, ACTUALLY BIG... but I can't believe any player with half an ounce of intelligence thinks that a club now languishing in Division 4 can be considered big in anything other than incompetence and self-importance. Sounds like they're made for each other.

Pompey remind me of when I used to play Football Manager (and Champ Manager before that) Quite often you get carried away, pay too much on wages and before you know it, you're struggling to stay afloat because you're nowhere near as good as you thought you were. But don't worry, we can just start a new game!

Jeff, I'm not sure that pursuing the 'role model' line is appropriate. Footballers are often mentioned as role models, but that's not strictly the best description IMO. They are in the public eye and so their behaviour is scrutinised more closely as a result - and IDEALLY they should set a good example and maybe BECOME a role model. But they are not role models at the outset. That said, most Saints Academy graduates seem to be good candidates because of the excellent all round education and grounding they get.

And that is the key distinction IMO. I completely agree that I would not offer him a contract if I were at a football club, and I don't think he should be offered a contract by anyone, but that is a decision for each club to make, not the governing body.

Or in other words, they basically have the same information that pretty much every other 'professional' club has available to them. I wonder if the software also predicts how much worse he'll make them once he signs them and starts to 'train' them.

This is all down to when the conviction is 'spent' - any custodial sentence less than 4 years becomes spent after a period of time and if a conviction is spent then it is illegal to not employ someone because of the previous conviction. Evans was sentenced to 5 years I believe and therefore his conviction will never be spent, so any employer CAN refuse to employ him on this basis alone. Edit: a bit more info: https://www.lawontheweb.co.uk/personal/rehabilitation-of-offenders-act Edit 2: Worth noting that this is based purely on the length of sentence and NOT the offence itself.

I think that's the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me on here, lol. I know what you mean and agree, but at the risk of repeating myself, it's a bit like saying 'Well, if I knew this wasn't a winning lottery ticket I wouldn't have bought it.' You gotta be in it to win it. And we're still in it.
-
Lol - didn't even know there was a vote! Thanks though! No trolling or shouting - just think these kind of hypothetical scenarios are rather pointless. We play games to win them. We don't know what is going to happen and obviously if you KNOW something is going to happen then you might plan accordingly, but it's football... no one knows.
-
Given that we eventually lost in the 1/4 final of the League Cup - do you now wish we'd gone out in the first round? Surely this kind of comment is a bit silly? It's football - that's what happens, otherwise why bother in the first place?
-
Sorry but this is clearly ******** - we've won plenty of games with Pelle as the 'lone' striker... the key is how well supported he is by the 3 behind him.
-
Doubt it - we'll probably stay up north again, if not for the whole week for one set of fixtures. It's really not worth worrying about IMO - if we want to play in Europe we'll have to get used to travelling a fair bit between weekend fixtures. Ipswich are playing well and it was a tough game - we were the better side but didn't convert chances to show for it so we'll just have to go and do it up there.
-
Injuries can happen in training or any game. If we want to be successful, we just have to get on with it. Bring on the replay if need be, and lets win it. A late goal today would obviously be nice though.

For the record, still using Unotelly and PremierLeaguePass with no problems whatsoever.

All transfers are a risk. Koeman has earnt our trust IMO, so I'm not going to worry about it. Hopefully he'll be great. -
Agreed. He's a valuable player and one we should be looking to keep without a doubt.

It was a pretty blunt and unequivocal reply. Good to hear.

Zlatan does have a rather high opinion of himself: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30589052 -
MLG, let's get back to the basics. You said: Which is wrong. Kick It Out are not endorsing one religion over all the others. They offered 'thoughts and prayers' which is entirely non-specific to which religion or deity a person may pray to. All the rest since is pointless. You interpreted it hastily and your refusal to acknowledge that since is rapidly eliminating any remaining credibility you may have had. I've defended you in the past, but not on this one. You're wrong, plain and simple.

All of the above, plus one more thing: Deliver excellent customer service, ALL THE TIME. You might be the best IT support the world has ever seen, but if people don't like you, don't get a response from you promptly, or even are just left feeling that they're 'not quite sure about him' then it's easier for them to find someone else to do it. People don't remember what you did or how you did it so much as how you made them feel as a result. That may sound a bit cheesy, but it's 100% true, and decisions will be made based on it. Even if you do something wrong, if you deal with it correctly people will remember that and like you more as a result. And that goes for any industry.

As mentioned above this really was a freak accident. We are talking a difference of probably millimetres between what has happened and perhaps severe bruising. RIP - Thoughts with his family, and also for the bowler Sean Abbott too.

I agree with you, but I can only see 3 retweets and 3 replies.

Wearabouts in Woolston. The owner may possibly be a SaintsWeb regular too.

I've always said that I'm quite happy for them to bob about in the lower Division 4, and watch them slowly turn insane as hope and jealousy gets the better of them.
