    Quincy Promes

This is true.... and "Picks the ball up from out wide, level with the top of the box, then runs back in a semi circle and shoots from about 30 yards, normally slicing the ball into the crowd." ...was pretty much his normal contribution for Norwich (except for that good goal against us!).

mrfahaji said "When he played for Norwich and Birmingham I thought it was quite common to see him cutting in and unleashing a shot, " No, I'm afraid not, I saw him a lot at Norwich and it was frustratingly rare for him to do this, his finest moment was when he did this and scored against us that time! But it certainly wasn't common; Norwich fans are not at all surprised about what Saints fans are now saying about him.
  3. Chris Marsden (how about that dribble at Ipswich for evidence, set off for the corner flag to waste time and found himself slotting into an empty net having jinxed past 3 defenders and the goalie!) Francis Benali (one of my favourite memories is Frannie launching a Norwich player into the wall in front of a "fun day" crowd of nippers at Carrow Road - yes it was a low key reserves game - yes it was a red card)
  4. good grief.... .....how long until the season starts?
  5. So today really quite historic!
  6. I reckon Gabbi will have energised the whole team with his positivity and superb finishing; for example Ryan now knows that a decent low cross whipped across the 6 yard box could well get turned in, (less likely with only Jay, Long, Redmond up front!)
  7. (I meant this one) Great to read, thanks!
  8. Great to read, thanks!
  9. It should be good, next best thing to Wembley!
  10. Hey Pluto, Many thanks for posting the Virgin Media competition details, I've got a ticket to watch the game at St Marys (and free buffet etc) thanks to you!
  11. Would be great if there was a big screen somewhere...........
  12. Norwich (local for me), Ipswich (not far) and agree with Lighthouse about Leeds or Newcastle.
  13. Altogether now..... "Caceres - ceres, Whatever will be will be, He's coming from Italy, Caceres -ceres"
  14. Where do people think will be the best place to watch in Winchester or Southampton itself? Any chance of big screens at St Marys?
  15. Reaction from my Norwich mates is fear of a Redmond hatrick!
  16. Perfect! Winnable, and local for me!
  17. Agree. Good game of football and we looked a decent side against a team with massive financial backing. Perspective.
  18. He's just let one go apparently.
  19. Seems to me that he's turned into a Swansea type player now, sitting in front of the back 4 and mainly playing short sideways and backwards passes (hence high completion rate).
  20. Our performance was far better than recently because there were far fewer unforced errors, we moved the ball more crisply and with more imagination, and reduced the long ball stuff. However if 11 Norwich players had stayed on then that might have been 2:1 rather than 3:0.
  21. Depends what you want to do, but in my opinion there is far more to do in Norwich than Southampton. Norwich is the biggest city in a huge mainly rural region so has a thriving cultural scene and gets good touring bands and theatre shows etc. Also has a dry ski slope, nearby Snetterton, fantastic and low cost sports centre with olympic size pool, forest stuff, coast, broads for watersports. But maybe it doesn't have the stuff you want to do I suppose.
  22. Yep, refs have been told to come down hard on that this season
  23. I reckon 2:2 and through on away goals. goals from Romeu and Pelle 1 o.g. from Caulker Romeu red card with 7 minutes to go to set up a nervy finish.
  24. Done, good luck with the dissertation.
  25. I think the man appreciates the relationship he has with the club and the supporters. I remember years ago him being full of praise for the St Marys crowd (well done Northam) for singing the Jose Fonte Baby song for him after he'd just made a rare blunder and his head was down; it really lifted him; and the same thing happened at St James's on Sunday.
