Didn't Matt Le Tiss admit in his autobiography to some sort of betting thing? (No action taken but a few raised eyebrows if I remember rightly).
-
You're right, it was really impressive how he took both goals because each time his first touch was good and he got the shots away instantly after the first touch, defenders and keepers only need a split second to anticipate and block but he didn't give them that. This is one of the signs of of top class striker (compare with the time it takes a midfield player like Armstrong to get his shots away, hits the ball well if given time, but often gets crowded out).

Players you would sign from relegated teams....

Having seen him play quite a bit, I'd pick Klose ahead of Vestergaard. -

I agree that Klose would be a good signing at the right price (injured for much of this season so not able to prove himself in the Prem). In addition to Buendia, Pukki, and the full backs (esp Lewis), I would mention Hernandez as a player to compete with Redmond for a starting place. -
Great performance, and if only Redmond's strike had gone in! I thought at first De Gea had palmed it into the net, but good save!

Great performance in the first half, a joy to watch the slick and purposeful passing and moving, the team really gelling. Bodes well for next season.

So far another good away performance where we look to get the ball forward quickly and press from the front.

Thanks Steve, looks great

A couple of months ago it seemed like Hassenhutl himself was having a crisis of confidence over tactics and team selection; he's clearly come through that now and will be so much stronger for it, and so will the players!
-
Agreed. He swings his arm up as he jumps to block the cross. I was certain VAR was going to say "penalty"

What I loved most was our players in midfield getting around them like a pack of dogs when they had the ball, we gave a lot of fouls away but the message was "we are fighting for every ball" and Spurs weren't up for it !

Yes Ottawa, I was there and it was a sickener, I still think about it every time I hear Chris Sutton on the radio, he mis-hit it into the ground and as you say it looped up and into the net in slow motion. Also didn't enjoy the "atmosphere" in Norwich city centre as I walked home (I live in Norwich).

Buendia, Hernandez and Pukki are fast and very smart, I can see a defence featuring Stephens getting turned inside out. We might also need the defensive nous of Cedric despite his inability going forward. Is Yoshi injured?
-
Walker might as well start since you've only named 10 players :-) Jenkins or Sydenham to maraud down the left?

In my opinion the Palace style support is not ideal when it just drones on regardless of what's going on on the pitch. The really spine tingling support is the shouting and singing that reacts to the situation in the game and the passage of play.....the roar when our team breaks away and attacks, or wins a corner with seconds lefts etc etc. This creates the real soundtrack to the game and amplifies the drama. So..... can we have more of that please!

Pritchard from Huddersfield might be a good outside bet, similar to Josh Sims in energy and workrate, best played more centrally though, struggled to make an impact at Huddersfield but great for Norwich previously.

Yes great little pub... dark and narrow in a good way, can't fit mant people in there though. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g186394-d3187680-Reviews-Crown_Posada-Newcastle_upon_Tyne_Tyne_and_Wear_England.html If you want food as well you could try the Red House just round the corner towards quayside, bigger but also in historic building(s) and with a wonderful pie menu; beer tends to be more modern (e.g. Brooklyn Lager on tap). https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g186394-d3730074-Reviews-The_Redhouse-Newcastle_upon_Tyne_Tyne_and_Wear_England.html

I was concerned about Bertram in the second half because he didn't look well to me; when he took an age to take that throw in (the first one, not the one he was booked for later) he looked like he was feeling really ill, didn't look right at all; so when I saw it was him trying to stop Salah I knew we were in trouble.

Happy Days!

One of the best rule changes has been banning the keeper picking up a back pass. Can you remember those games when the away team came to park the bus and repeatedly passed back for the keeper to pick it up, bounce it a couple of times and generally waste time (then repeat the process).

I was struck by a quote from Norwegian press when Elyounoussi signed, saying that he was delighted to have signed for us as now his financial future was secure for life (or words to that effect); and I thought at the time, does this sound like a player who is hungry for success on the field??? I don't think we've witnessed much "hunger" or heard much frustration from him about his failure to make much of an impact. Maybe there's a touch of the Sagonowskis about him and he'll suddenly look highly motivated towards the end of his contract.
