I could be wrong but i believe that was his final game!
-
Sorry this should have been linked to the Steve Claridge thread above!
-
My home town club is Weymouth and Steve Claridge was player manager here when we were in the Conference South. Needless to say his management skills were questionable!!! still a good player though even when he was in his late thirties.

I am 61 and my daughter 21. We had joint admission last season in the family section for £20 which i agree is ridiculously cheap, but our joint admission next season is £46. therefore we will only be able to go to every other match.(cannot buy season ticket because not local to the area and cant go to midweek matches) More than 100% increase is a big shock to the system!!!

Yes that is a couple of possible ideas. Also level at 90 minutes and the higher placed league side goes through. Then there is 5th against 6th, winner plays 4th, winner of that plays 3rd in final. It would be great to find an alternative to penalties.

So finishing 15 points ahead of another team and starting playoffs on an even footing is fair is it. You have no case.

so hudds finishing around 15 points ahead of bournemouth and then starting playoffs on an even footing is fair is it? You have no case i am afraid.
-
It's fairer than the current system.

Huddersfield appreciation/respect thread

Why? They stole Wimbledon's place in the football league. Why should a town who did not previously have a notable football club suddenly appear on the scene at Championship level? I look forward to AFC Wimbledon playing them off the park at a later date!!! -

I agree with you but unfortunately it is not going to happen. There are various ideas for 'tinkering' with the playoffs but I like the one suggested by a Huddersfield supporter who suggested that the format remains the same but if the scores are level after 90 mins, the team who finished the season in the highest position is the winner ie no extra time or penalties. I believe this could apply to the final as well. -
I think the majority would prefer a win on monday and just enjoy saturday!!!!!

Yes, a draw is no use to either side on Monday looking at the league table so could be interesting with both sides going for the win. -

+1. -
Thanks. Might give them a ring as I do not live anywhere near Southampton or Plymouth. Hoping that works in my favour rather than against me. may seem strange i suppose when i make no reaction to a Plymouth or Saints goal!!!!

I know the Saints allocation of tickets is sold out but does anyone know if it is possible to buy tickets at other areas of the ground (ie neutral clothing and keep quiet?

Fonte player of the season?

The plus with the current strip is the fact that it is easier to pick out the number on the shirts. From a distance that was more difficult with the stripes. (I know I should go to Specsavers!!!)
-
My opinion may change if we have secured promotion by then of course!
-
I would be much happier to see them beat Huddersfield. Promotion is our first priority!!!
-
Indeed if you book that way on the day it is £3 extra booking fee and £2 extra on match ticket.

During the Hudds v Notts County match The Sky Sports summarizer (didn't catch his name) irritatingly kept pointing out that Hudds were opening up a four point advantage over Peterborough as though they are the only threat. Hardly a mention of Saints even though we have 3 games in hand. He concluded by stating that Hudds will get the second automatic promotion place. Who knows he might prove to be correct but Notts County were absolutely dire today. Come on Saints prove the ------ wrong. £45 a month for that!!!
-
Sorry, got score wrong, but 1 point only, therefore even if they win friday they cannot overtake us and we will have 3 games in hand.
-
Never thought I would be cheering on Bournemouth this season but will be hoping they win or draw against Posh in the televised game next Friday.
