Where to start ? Firstly I post on here very rarely though I am aware of many of the threads. I am neither an ex-employee nor am I disgruntled though fair to say I am, like many people, unhappy at the current plight of our club. I'm very aware that certain people claim to be ITK but almost invariably they are not though one poster in particular clearly has a very good insight into the workings of the club and most posts he makes turn out to be very accurate. Weston Saint, if you believe there are inaccuracies in my statements regarding Lallana then that is fine, I'm as certain as I can be that based on information given to me by people involved in football who know Lallana well and certainly better than you or I that the position is as stated. I'm not in the business of winding people up, I have far better things to do. Time should provide an indication as to whether certain points I make are accurate or not, I would love to be wrong about certain things and especially the new manager but I would be amazed if I am.

Yes, you also posted this : "The problem with comments on forums and in the media is that very few know the full picture. The late Marcus Liebherr and Nicola Cortese had a business plan. Everyone who was employed were expected to buy into that plan 100%. That meant all aspects not just ones they liked. Part of that was to stop internal politics. Work as a team each with his/her part to play in realising that plan within the timescales. " Firstly most of the comments on here are actually opinions, people trying to make sense of something which invariably the club refuse to clarify. It seems the fans are part of that "business plan" and are also expected to toe the line. It would practically be impossible to employ someone as a manager of a Football club without at times them disagreeing with the owner/chairman, on that basis it was very stupid to employ Pardew in the 1st place, in fact there are very few managers who would take the job if they had to merely act as a glove puppet. We simply are not talking about say a toy making factory or a Furniture business but something that is essentially unique and which simply cannot be run by one person and particularly one with such a lack of knowledge not only regarding the business but also the environment in which it is based. Lallana needed an operation several weeks ago. Pardew, who Lallana has made clear was a major factor in him staying, also wanted the operation done though it is true to say the medical advice was unclear. However, in most instances the player, indeed sportsmen and women in general, have a very good idea of what is best for them. In spite of this the operation was delayed, as we now know it has gone ahead but in the meantime the player has continued to play ! There isn't really anything to cover up other than, surprise, surprise, another disagreement between Cortese and Pardew and there have been a number. Suggestions that Pardew wasn't wanted by Markus Liebherr are so wide of the mark it's untrue. Cortese wanted Pardew out and as with other staff who dared to even say hello to him was sacked as soon as it was possible to do so, the lack of any statement from Pardew is entirely due to Cortese insisting it was included as part of the severance "package" and Pardew only agreeing after certain other conditions were included. Money was NOT a major issue as has been stated by some sources. That really explains the timing but in the meantime Pardew continued to do his job and the end result was a 4-0 win though Pardew already knew by then he was soon to be sacked. Other people can decide if Pardew was really disinterested by that time but a 4-0 win suggests otherwise. It is very likely Lallana will leave in January and he may not be the only one, the new manager, when he is appointed, will leave the fans totally underwhelmed. The internal politics Cortese was so keen to stop have abated though only because he has got rid of those who dared to disagree. I can really only liken the "politics" of this club now to those in say somewhere like Iran or probably more accurately to those in the hilariously named Democratic Republic of the Congo. Whatever the comparison the lunatic really has taken over this particular asylum and sadly it will continue and the fans will continue to be scorned.

Yes I know. But even with a few injuries would anyone still want KP ? It's really bowlers we could struggle with, is Dawson fit as he's not played lately has he ?

Stupid comments. Just get lost, people like you are beyond contempt.

It does, shameful. Strange though that every comment I have seen on Facebook has been totally respectful so it's clear this forum in no way reflects the general mood. Of course it is 100% correct to postpone the game, I don't know anyone who felt like going and getting refunds was the last thing on their minds.

Shame if Corky misses out though we still have a decent enough squad and in 20/20 anything can happen !

Subs: Bialkowski, Harding, A. Martin, Mills, Holmes, Lambert, Garrod.

Of course Lumb should be selected ahead of Pietersen, regardless of his poor form a while back he is 100% a Hampshire player, in spite of KP saying "I'll be cheering on the lads !" does anyone really care about someone for whom Hants are not even in his list of priorities. Good riddance to him.

To be honest whilst that is a major issue you also need to factor in the many who turn up at work and are worse than useless, they really would be better staying at home. The real problem is sickness/poor performance isn't a disciplinary issue as such but is covered under "inefficiency" and it's nigh on impossible to get rid of staff on that basis and even if you do then it's a good chance the employee will take the matter to an Employment Tribunal which can be hugely expensive and even if the employer wins it is very rare that the employee will be asked to foot the costs and even then if they are it's not likely they'll be able to pay. So what happens in most cases is that the employees remain in post until they retire and then receive their pensions which are actually pretty good though as a general rule are not that excessive in comparison to the private sector. For me the main problem is an historical one of poor recruitment procedures though they are generally tighter these days. In theory the problem should diminish as poor quality staff are reduced but bearing in mind someone could have joined the Civil Service at 16/18 they could be working for 40+ years!

3rd test v Pakistan starts on 18th so on that basis I'd not imagine England wanting to risk players in a 20/20 match or 2. However, I'm not aware of anything definite on this, more than likely Flower and Co will maybe want a few players to get some extra match time ( though playing 20/20 is useless in terms of Test match preparation) and expect the Counties to dance to their tune. Thankfully Hants took a view not to play Pietersen v Kent and would surely do the same again. As stated we are looking at Broad and Swann for Notts, Cook for Essex and that's all isn't it ?

Article: Why Southampton won't win promotion
saintchristine replied to buctootim's topic in The Saints
Seems such a waste to use my 3rd and I think last post of the day referring to Betfair but they are the worst site bar none when it comes to commenting on any sport never mind football. Clearly they are a betting site but unlike other bookmakers don't actually need to know anything as of course they make their money mainly on commission from the punters on there who win and who themselves set the odds. Pretty much none of the rumours re signings for any club come to fruition though if you mention enough players the law of averages dictate you'll get one or two right. I don't think the fixture list really makes a great deal of difference and neither does our tendency to start slowly. But the real nonsense starts when they refer to West Ham and the expectations when Tevez and Mascarenho joined. I don't know who sanctioned those signings but Tevez in particular proved more disruptive than anything else whilst Pardew was there, of course they also subsequently got fined £5.5m for breaching rules over their signings. Bizarrely WHU fans voted Tevez player of the season which might have had a little bit of credence had it not been before he secured PL safety by scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win v Man Utd. Still 7 goals in 26 games barely warranted that accolade. Mascarenho only played 5 games before being sent on loan to Liverpool though not before the Argentina national coach Alfio Basile, declared that he hoped Mascherano would leave West Ham "as soon as possible," and "I hope for God's sake that Mascherano can go to Juventus." So never mind looking at the actual impact of the 2 players, far too difficult to do that. However, probably even worse is this statement : Standing by your man isn't rewarded. "There was talk at the end of last season that Cortese was going to sack Pardew and, while that would have felt harsh, it could have proven beneficial. Seven of the last eight managers to secure automatic promotion from League One did so in their first full season at that level with their club, so while chairmen who continually axe coaches are criticised, there is logic in adopting that approach." It's all very well stating 7 of the last 8 eight managers to secure automatic promotion did so at the first attempt but again let's not discuss how many of those 7 took over clubs that were in such a sorry state as we were, again far too difficult so just gloss over it and move on:rolleyes: Simply lazy, lazy, lazy and worth reading only for amusement value. -

Barring something extraordinary hard to look past Rose, Casey and Harrington which would I think give the top 12 in the World points list as it now stands. Garcia is sadly so out of form it would be mad to pick him.
