  1. Maybe it was after Brendan Rodgers moved to Liverpool - which would explain Liverpool having a similar handicap to Spurs!
  2. Robbie Rodgers, THIS is how you come out...
  3. You must be the Health and Safety dalek who keeps trundling around warning the others about the danger of stairs.
  4. Thought we looked so good at times. First game I've seen in entirety in the Premiership. So different from the last time we were here - control, passing, strength, patience - we're a good side to watch. Watched second half with a Liverpool fan who took time out to watch us as we play nice football. We're entertainers, guys. And winners too.
  5. Clyne tries to come off to "do a Puncheon" but it's too late for Gareth Barry who (much to Mancini's displeasure) takes a massive dump in front of his own goal.
  6. I know you probably won't like it but Roberto has offered to get one of his players to score an own goal if you agree to give him a cuddle and possibly a slow dance. I said you you'd think about it...
  7. "Iss only hwhen you seea the world likea Paul Scholes that you starta play likea Paul Scholes"
  8. To be fair, most of their games slip by unnoticed. And unwatched...
  9. IMHO we have missed the first real opportunity of this transfer window: the thread should be called "The Great 2013 Trans-Austrian Centre Back Chase (version the 3rd)".
  10. Can we start a Saints 2015 Takeover/Administration thread in the lounge now, or should we wait? P.S. Someone will have to note down what actual league position we are in once Harry C***flaps takes over so we can correct him every time he says he took over with us "rock bottom".
  11. Old Gregg, after drinking one too many baileys from a old tramp's shoe.
  12. 90 minutes against Man City didn't make us Premier League certainties and 90 minutes against Wigan doesn't make us relegation certainties. To post a thread like this - particularly with the title it has - after only two games is quite frankly shameful and somewhat ridiculous. If a rival club reacted like this we'd be ****ing ourselves laughing at them. For ****'s sake give it 10 games or take up badminton and lawn bowls.
  13. The money should help keep the club afloat.
  14. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-19349921 An elderly parishioner has stunned Spanish cultural officials with an alarming and unauthorised attempt to restore a prized Jesus Christ fresco. Ecce Homo (Behold the Man) by Elias Garcia Martinez has held pride of place in the Sanctuary of Mercy Church near Zaragoza for more than 100 years. The woman took her brush to it after years of deterioration due to moisture. Cultural officials said she had the best intentions and hoped it could be properly restored. The woman, in her 80s, was reportedly upset at the way the fresco had deteriorated and took it on herself to "restore" the image. BBC Europe correspondent Christian Fraser says the delicate brush strokes of Elias Garcia Martinez have been buried under a haphazard splattering of paint. The once-dignified portrait now resembles a crayon sketch of a very hairy monkey in an ill-fitting tunic, he says. The woman appears to have realised she was out of her depth and contacted Juan Maria Ojeda, the city councillor in charge of cultural affairs. Art historians are expected to meet at the church soon to discuss how to proceed. Mr Ojeda said: "I think she had good intentions. Next week she will meet with a repairer and explain what kind of materials she used. "If we can't fix it, we will probably cover the wall with a photo of the painting." The fresco is not thought to be very valuable, but has a high sentimental value for local people. Our correspondent says that to make matters worse, the local centre that works to preserve artworks had just received a donation from the painter's granddaughter which they had planned to use to restore the original fresco.
  15. Sign him on a short contract, grant him a testimonial, insist it's held at Fratton Park, sit back and admire fireworks. There'd be no trouble getting Chinrai's buy in for this idea. No single event would get Fratton Park levelled quicker. He could start building his supermarket on the Sunday morning and Pompey fans would have done all the demolition.
  16. Must be nice for them to see "Portsmouth" and "Trial" in the same news story without the word "Defendant" as well.
  17. So I guess they have a keeper now?
  18. Well this is turning into a Golden Thread already. All I need is a bag of popcorn and for MLG and Turkish to arrive and I'll be sorted.
  19. Don't mention the war.
  20. Leave that kind of thing for the skates. I'd love them to adopt a name which merges their locality with a business sponsor. Something like "Fratton Tesco" should do. I have blueprints for a stadium redevelopment if they want it.
  21. Yes, but the important point is will the white frames have red pin stripes? Very important that. There should be one with an assortment of Saintsweb posters with the caption: "For the sake of complaining".
  22. Part of me feels quite bad about the last one - I mean his dad took him to games at Fratton Park and he was a season ticket holder - but part of me thinks how some of their fans would ****ing lose it seeing that photo and it makes me smile. Nice hoardings :-)
  23. I actually like that photo. It's like the storm clouds roll around St. Mary's but we stay untouched in the eye of the storm. Hopefully that holds true for the upcoming season.
  24. The more I see it, the more I like it. I actually get a little kick from the fact it's annoying everyone too - but then I quite liked the Pony "rubgy" shirt from way back, although that's probably just nostalgia. I'm more concerned about the team we're building than the shirt. If we can get some decent performances in then I'm sure this shirt will grow on us. The retro (wide-central-stripe) shirt from the 80s is only so popular because we've associated it with a period of Saints success. I'm sure a similar period of (relative) success will make us like this shirt... Maybe grudgingly :-)
