  1. Don't often criticise the manager but Adkins should have subbed him before half time. In fact, he should not have been picked (hindsight is wonderful, I know). Guly could not control the ball, could not hold it up, could not win any headers, did not tackle. Should have cleared for their goal. Complete liability today, and cost us 2 points. Ah well, at least we didn't lose.
  2. Only one reason why we are top...... nearly every opposition manager has made this clear.... Coventry manager Andy Thorn in this article http://www.football365.com/championship/7295067/Coventry-v-Southampton-reaction "They showed real character to get back into it but then we shot ourselves in the foot again and that's disappointing because when we got back to 2-2 I thought we were going to go on but credit to them they are a good side and they kept going but we gifted them goals."
  3. Seems we are not that good away from home any more.
  4. Some good comments from KUMB board...... http://kumb.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=135707&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=960 They obviously thought Chappers had a good game last night too... "Yes Southampton are top of the league, but I thought they outplayed us. We have better players than them and a wage bill that is about 3x higher. Yet Adkins has got them playing the right way and they are reaping the rewards. Fair play to them. Until we realise that we have good enough players to play some football aswell and keep possession I've got a feeling there will be a few more performances like this. Oh and Richard Chaplow looked twice the player of our 50K a week captain."
  5. And as for their attendance yesterday... hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha........ I thought they were supposed to get an extra 5000 because the Clot had left???? hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha........ They did, would only have been 6k otherwise
  6. I'd be more than happy to become a full member if it guaranteed faster response times on matchday threads. I don't think I'd be too happy paying especially if, as you say, the fees were supposed to be used to improve the speed of the forum, which doesn't seem to have happened.......
  7. Can anything be done to speed up the forum? It seems when there are more users than usual on the site it bogs down - generally match days. I'm not a paid up member, and don't post often (I cant be bothered to get into any arguements with people), but you can rest assured that I wont be paying until the forum speeds up to something like it should.

  9. This thread reminds me of that Millwall one where this fan, a season ticket holder, phoned the club to reserve the seat for a game (his seat), but the woman at the club said according to their records it was already sold - he couldn't grasp the fact that it was him it was sold to! He apparently went ballistic at them for selling his seat then went on the Millwall forum moaning about the fact they'd sold his seat to someone else. Took him a few days to get it to! That thread went world wide with millions of hits! Could this do the same??
  10. Only if he had a Saints shirt on at the time.......
  11. The thing with Davis is that he doesn't command his box by coming for crosses when he should - he never has. If he were to do so, this would take an enormous amount of pressure off the whole team. It stops the other side's momentum, turning our desperate defending at times into our attack. A commanding goalie, when taking crosses will take the sting out of the attacking opposition. Having, and knowing you have a goalie who comes when he should to catch crosses means the defense has more confidence knowing this rather than at times resorting to desperate clearances - a good commanding goalie makes the defenders in front of him better. There comes a time in every players career when they cannot keep up the same standard of play, for whatever reason. Yesterday he also failed again at his near post to a shot which wasn't actually struck that well. IMHO, he should've saved it. He didn't and in that one error turned the whole game. In other recent matches he has also made costly mistakes. Posh gained momentum and then scored another, a high cross into the 6 yard box. Did the defenders expect Davis to come? I did. Okay the defense didn't deal with it either but that's the point I'm making - if Davis gets off his line to come for crosses then that goal would have been prevented. Second half we could have done with taking the sting out of Posh attacks. Not having a keeper to come for crosses meant we couldn't do this. I would drop him - doesn't mean that's it, game over, just means he's dropped and has to up his game in training to force his selection to the first team - just like all the other players in the squad.
  12. Harding! You cokk!!!

    family law?

No matter what Simo, don't give up. Whatever the outcome of your trials and tribulations now, eventually your son will be able to be judge and jury and decide for himself and he'll know you never gave up. As long as you stick to it, eventually you and your son will have a loving relationship that will be strong.
  15. There's a lot went on we don't know about regarding Mr Pardew and his triumvirate and some of the staff at Saints (I include the team and other backroom staff, as well as the boardroom). I'd say the damage was being done whilst Pardew was still at the club, but just my personal opinion based on nothing whatsoever apart from a gut feeling.
  16. Where would we be if Nigel Adkins had been brought in earlier, say at the end of last season and had a pre season under his belt? I've often wondered this and after a lot of consideration I actually think we would be walking this league right now, at the top with points to play with on Brighton. Always easy to say these things in hindsight, I know, but what if eh?
  17. Batman: 'Oi mate, is that The Joker in the Blackpool dugout?' mate: 'Nah, it's just that bitter c_unt Holloway'
  18. Er, are you sure you're not a day or two behind the rest of us? We are now on 37 pts..... ;o)
  19. Why don't you wait until after the game before you say 'I told you so'? You might make yourself look a complete c_ock........again
  20. According to the CVA the few should be receiving exactly £4,000,000 from player trading this month. FIFA may give their blessing for this reason, but it would mean that their best player is off.
  21. Not sure if this has been posted, but Martin Samuel needs to keep digging. At least some in the media seem want to highlight the goings on down the road still http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1330323/MARTIN-SAMUEL-Are-John-Henrys-Liverpool-crew-just-Double-Glazers.html

  24. I think to settle this debate on whether it is 'thick' to say 'haitch' or 'aitch', we should look a little further east and ask our fishy friends how they pronounce the letter H. The would say 'haitch'. Therefore it is wrong and they are thick.
  25. Davies 4 didn't have much to do but was at fault for the first. He should have saved it. Butterfield 4 caught out of position to much Fonte 3 looked slow and ponderous. Also got caught out for the first goal Martin 6 Looked ok today, did his job, but almost screwed up with an own goal Harding 5 Not great but not bad ok performance Chamberlain 7 looked our best player, but still learning, should not have been subbed Hammond 5 Hmm not much to say, did ok, but not a captains performance Schneiderlin 5 ok again, but I think he should be doing better Puncheon 5 Industrious, poor crossing, worse finishing Connoly 6 Looked ok worked hard looked our best forward shouldn't have been subbed Lambert 2 What is wrong with him??? Guly 6 Only had a few minutes but didn't do anything wrong. Looks promising Mills 5 Not had long enough but poor header at the end Wilkins 1 What was he thinking re the substitutions?? Clueless! Overall a team that is devoid of confidence, no leadership on or off the pitch, no passion, no idea. We need a manager fast before it gets too late. Having said all that, after calming down a bit, upon reflection we did create some decent chances and on another day could've got something from the game.
