Drop Ings on that performance. Play Adams up top and Redz and Boufal either side. And bring in Macca for Gunn.

Poor in attack, abysmal in defense, poor goalkeeping. That was like last season under Hughes! Not impressed at all, and with Liverpool our goal difference may take a hammering. Have to say my confidence before the game for this season has taken a real battering. I hope this isn't another season of battling against relegation, but I fear the worst based on that 2nd half performance. Utterly embarrassing

His DNA will be indistinguishable from the rest of the island

Great performance second half. Deserved win. Armstrong the difference I think. They should have been down to 9 men. Kevin Friend has never, ever, ever been our friend. Possibly the worst referee in football, and that's an accolade that is extremely difficult to obtain. Well done lads. Big shout out to Valery and JWP for the goals and Vestegaard for an incredible intercepting header in injury time. Oh, Bednarek continues to be player of the season for me and Yoshi also continues to be the solid central defender Stephens isn't. Well done Ralph! A great win and much needed seeing as West Ham didn't turn up at Cardiff.

Does sound like it's true, especially as the club went out and spent big on Gunn.

Deliberate handball? Crock of sch!t this VAR is. It's only as good as the official who is making the decision, and that was not a good decision if you ask me or the guys on Sky Sports News. Pah! Still if we get beat maybe it'll speed up Mark 'Football Genius' Hughes departure.
-
Get rid of the useless Welsh idiot and his cronies NOW! It'll be too late otherwise. This team will possibly go down anyway, but with him in charge it will definitely go down. 3 wins in 20 matches. 16 points from 20 games. Hughes is a fraud.
-
Reed and Kruger won't go, although God knows they should. So change must come by getting rid of the cancer that is Mark Hughes and his coaching team. Clueless, the ****ing lot of them. This squad is better than that, but they are not getting anywhere near what they should out of these players. Having unfit players is the ultimate **** take though, there's no excuse for that. Because of that alone he should be sacked, quite apart from the fact that he is absolutely ****ing useless and a complete fraud as a manager.

Both teams could be in the bottom 3 at seasons end next season too...only in the championship! There was no quality on the St Mary's pitch today. One move in the whole match from both teams, but the chance fell to Long....oh well. Not hidden the fact I didn't want Hughes as manager and his tenure can't end soon enough for me. The longer he stays the more likely we will be relegated. I have seen nothing from him tactically that makes me think he is a good manager. 3 wins in 18. 15 points from possible 54. Managers have been sacked for records better than that.

Feel sorry for those who traveled up to watch that rubbish. Manager set up to park the bus, 3 nil down at half time, so that went well. 2nd half damage limitation - Hughes thinking of the GD. 1st shot on target in 91st minute. In for another crap season. Hope there are 3 worse teams. Possibly not this year. Don't rate Hughes. He's had 17 games now, almost half a season. Not sure of the stats but can't be good, has to be relegation form though and can't see it getting any better, certainly defensively, where we are woeful, and that includes the goalkeeper at the moment. Way I feel these days I'm losing interest, so don't really care if we stay up or go down.

Ref was crap. Didn't give us a thing today. But then again Mason never does. I'd like to see stats on the games where he's been our ref. Having said that we are just not good enough and never will be with a defensive partnership which includes Hoedt and Stephens. They are utter rubbish and would struggle in the National League. I felt that the team that started today wouldn't get anything from a ground where we are notoriously bad at getting anything. Yoshi must wonder what the hell he has to do to get in the team. Yoshi and Vetsegaard would be my choice. Midfield of Romeu, Armstrong, Moi and Hodj, with Gabbi and Ings up front would be better defensively and going forward. Is Hughes still finding out about players or does he honestly believe that the team he picked today would be our best chance of a result? If so, then I fear for us as we'll struggle to defend and score if Hoedt, Stephens and Austin start every game.

No need to buy a new striker. Just give Forster the number 9 shirt and stick him up front. Big target man is just what we need. Problem solved.
-
Agree with this, but would add that the center backs looked slow and ponderous and when our play breaks down in midfield and the opposition counter they all looked out of position. Yes, young Targett looked useful, be silly to sell him. Armstrong is a breath of fresh air when we have the ball - always looking forward. Macca should be looking over his shoulder as Gunn is a very, very good keeper who will play for England at some point and hope it's whilst a Saint. All in all a game of two halves. 1st half started ok then we went to sh it making some very bad errors and were lucky to be only 2 down. Changes for 2nd half made a huge difference and we looked as good going forward as we did before Puel turned up and played safety first. Still a lot of work to do, especially on the defense but at least we don't look so toothless as we used to.

Yeah, that makes the decision to leave Bertrand behind even more mind boggling! Southgate must learn from this WC for the Europeans. Especially as the semis and final will be in London with home advantage.
-
I'm bloody wondering what Southgate was thinking. I mean I like Southgate but imo he's made some errors, like taking Young and not Bertrand. Like playing Sterling in every match when he's been absolute pants and Deli Ali who clearly is not on form.

If this guy is half as good as a certain other Armstrong we had in the 80's then he'll do extremely well
-
Wigan is our level......
-
Against the team rock bottom.
-
We could do a 'Wigan', win the FA Cup and get relegated in the same season. Not sure if I want that tbh......but I'd take it
-
Our esteemed tactical genius of a manager only knows one formation. The guy is clueless and he really is in the wrong job.
-
Really not sure about this statement. So far today he has cost us both goals with some awful schoolboy defending.
-
As a protest everyone should walk out at half time against Spurs. They'll get to see a half-decent performance 1st half and miss an abject sh!t 2nd half performance where we defend the six yard box, heroically hoofing the ball anywhere and we ship goals after another Churchillian inspired half-time team talk from Coco Pellegrino

How many gained from losing positions?

Statistically this manager is the worst that we have ever had and Les seems to be sticking with him. Dunno why? I'd suggest getting a worse manager than this clown would be quite some achievement. Jeez even Wigley and Branfoot have better records. Where do you think we are now, if not dangerously close to relegation? I don't understand your argument for not changing manager? Surely it's our only hope, if only a small hope? However, I fear it is far too late now as we will be playing in the Championship next season - where this clown, if he's still in charge, will continue to struggle.
