  1. Up in South Birmingham, still snowing, but more sleety than previous trip to Birmingham last season, so not really settling. Not been outside yet but bet it's bloody freezing.
  2. A big well done to all those that have travelled the country this season watching the lads move upwards to the Premier League. Had a splitting headache this morning. Work will be fun tomorrow with the West spam fans.
  3. if you can get to London Victoria coach station for Saturday morning, you can get a national express coach up there, and then catch an overnight coach back to London all for about £30. Used to do the national express to some away games, very cheap. Sure there'll be a spare seat somewhere from those driving up. Good luck

    Saturday

now that would be a top day out - stuffing the skates and seeing show of hands at albert hall. Seen them in Slough and Camberly.
  5. I'm leaning more towards UK Independant at next election, but the thought of allowing the champagne socialists of New Labour back in scares me. Slough's similar to Bradford but on a much smaller scale, whereby we have all sorts of diverse cultural backgrounds who despite the Labour Council saying we all live together as one for Slough, keep to themselves.
  6. Born 1973 in Farnham, at age of two moved to Basingstoke and then to Winchester, and through various residencies, now living in, but yearning to leave Slough. Not a regular any more due to money amongst things, but go on occasion. First match was in "Super cup" in 1985 evening game against Liverpool, 1-1 draw with Armstrong scoring a penalty. First away was in 1992/3 against if I remember rightly Wimbledon at Selhurst park.
  7. last minute winner at West Ham from Beattie, crossed in by Ormerod - 2003?
  8. holy moses, I've gone grey! Thanks for the stream link. Top class bodies behind the ball defending and quality saves from Kelvin. Slowly starting to feel less sick now. The table's looking good tonight (as per usual!)
  9. Didn't we beat West Ham 4-1 at home on the opening day of the season - Rideout hat trick?
  10. I'm a White Sox fan as it was the team I went to see when I visited Chicago in 2005. Were told to go and see the Cubs, but thought it would be like a tourist going to see Manure or Arsenal here in England, plus it only cost $10 for about three hours entertainment and a win. Used to stay up and see some of the channel 5 footage, but just check out their website now, although always toy with the idea of subscribing to the MLB channel.
  11. Roger Milford, absolute cock with his time added on against Oldham all those years ago. A good night on the Milton terrace ended up rubbish as we knew the plastic pitch awaited us.
  12. Amen to that
  13. ....bloody thirsty now. Don't like the cream flow stuff, and have a leaning towards the darker porter ales, although Ramsbury Gold and 6X go down a treat. Drink the local lager on the continent though.

    Exercise

commute cycle 5 days a week -about 15 miles. Still overweight though!
  15. Got back about 5pm today. Ten minute train ride from Bordseley to Yardley Wood - only saints fan among the bluenoses - so was lucky not to get pelted with snowballs in the snowball fight on the platform. Then a two and a half mile trudge through the snow back to my wife's auntie's house. Must have looked like a yeti when I turned up on their doorstep. Still, the walk from Yardley Wood to Hollywood is littered with fast food joints and off licenses so supplies were good. Wasn't too bad then, roads were clear coming down the M40 this afternoon. Fair play to those that journeyed back last night though. Don't see saints much at the moment but enjoyed the game, excellent display from us away fans. Thought their crowd was very poor, matched by their team who we should have taken more than a point from. How they've scored all of those goals in the last few games astounds me, because our boys adapted to the conditions far better than they did with some neat passing moves. Didn't worry when Birmingham had the ball because I knew we'd get it back seconds later. Just bloody shoot more!!
  16. I'm going up, train from Yardley Wood near to where wife's family are from to Bordesley train station. Been up a few times. Southampton a dump? That region of Birmingham is an absolute hole. looking forward to dodging the coins and batteries in block 2. Tough game, but an early goal should see us home.
  17. With the recent addition of Billy Sharp to the strike force, could this be a return to the cavalier days of the Nicholl era (not wanting to diss the defenders of course) whereby we might ship goals, but we'll score more than the opposition? Off up to the game on Saturday, so here's hoping, although a clean sheet would be nice.
  18. Making the trip up as wife's family are bluenoses. Last time I went should've taken an umbrella due to the amount of objects thrown over at us, and not a big away turn out if I remember as they were singing our support was worse than Fulham.
  19. Drivers who don't indicate and those that do 60 in the slow and middle lane of a motorway. Supermarket trollies that are just in the way with the users totally oblivious to anyone else around them. Black cab drivers in London constantly cutting me up on my bike - and yes I do stop and red lights. Also pedestrians who are in the "staring at my phone" mode that step into the road right in front of me. Walking behind people on the railway platform who tend just to care about what's on their mobile than keeping up with the flow of people walking in the same direction as them - stand at the side of the platform to check your phone then move on!
  20. 4 times for me. 1987 I believe, league match 2-2 sat in stands with my dad and being told by dad to keep quiet as we were in with the blue few, although my childhood holidays used to be with relatives who lived 10 minutes walk from their ground. A couple of mixed supported families were sat with us. Twice in Fratton end to see them against Cambridge Utd with my second cousin and once with cousin who's a true blue, and once in family stand terrace. I still don't believe how I ended up not being a skate, although back then for me it was an activity to do when holidaying down there as a youngster - cheap to get in, pay on the day - and not always fun going to Canoe Lake and the seafront everyday. Used to buy saints bits and bobs from the football shop in the tricorn and wear my cloth saints hat through the precinct. Get called a scummer by my relatives - even my dear old aunt who's 80 - but all good natured. Holidaying down there when growing up, however did open my eyes up to the general feral nature of the kids down there, who were always willing to fight - me living in posh Winchester.
  21. Visiting relatives in portsmouth at the weekend and the cascades was full of inbreds carrying their plastic Kappa bags - every little helps I suppose. Probably buying stuff from the PFC shop for the memories. My wife commented how the people there looked worse than those we get in Slough and that's a local area we tend to avoid.

    Lowry

Seen in the Metro today that our famous Floating Bridge gets a mention and picture printed as being included in a Lowry exhibitions at Richard Green gallery in London.
  23. All dad's side of family are from Portsmouth, so are skates. I was saved from the blue few by being fostered in Winchester and taken down the Dell by my step brother's brother in law. Down there tomorrow actually so will thoroughly clean myself when I get back home.
  24. Yeah great policing. Seems to me they like nailing Saints fans although dare I say it not all Saints fans are whiter than white at the football. Nearly got thrown out of the side of pitch terrace at Fulham by the police for waving my index and middle finger at the Fulham fans when we equalised. All they did was bring out the dogs to the front of the away stand we were in. The jubilant mood we were in that day would never have led to any trouble fromo us unless provoked.
