Apologies maybe you did get the bottom tier. I can't remember!
-
What is your current wage budget?
-
Nice stereotyping.
-
You'll be in the Leppings Lane lower this time round instead of the upper tier which will give you a potential 2294 tickets in total. I think only Huddersfield will be given the upper tier this season. If any first time visitors needs directions or advice on places to drink post it on here and I'll try to respond as quickly as I can.

Thank you I appreciate you saying that. 1) I got that wrong I apologise. I'm still fairly new to this site and I did mention that if it was in the wrong section that it should be moved. 2) It's only a fiver. I was interested in debating and hearing what your fans had to say over the course of the season. We are both the overwhelming favourites for promotion so I joined up for some banter. 3) I would have thought that my username, location, previous posts on the board, and my Sheffield Wednesday supporters group flag avatar would have made it fairly obvious to most people. What makes you say that?

I don't know if this is in the wrong section (please move if it is) but Former West Ham owner Eggert Magnusson is supposedly about to take over our club. The Co-op Bank are rumoured to be shaving £10m off our debt and Magnusson is going to invest a further sum to be invested in the playing squad.

£16-17k per annum is very poor pay for people being faced with daily gunfire, rocket and IED attacks. Spending months on end away from normal society and their friends and families is a huge sacrifice.

All armed forced members get discounted concessionary tickets at Hillsborough. Most of them get paid poorly and they spend a lot of time away from their homes and their families. Personally I think it's a fantastic idea and our soldiers are very worthy of the discount. Our armed forces members sacrifice a lot for the people in this country and often they can only get to a couple of games a season. I don't see why people are against offering them deals?

I could say the same about your neighbours ;-)

I'm sorry for your loss. RIP Mr Liebherr.

Hahaha that won't be happening then! Hartlepool 2-0 Pigs. Their manager Chris Turner is a Wednesday fan too and was a member of our League Cup winning side in 91. The draw is after the games have finished. Live on Sky Sports News.

I don't see the problem? One of your members posted the thread I'm just responding. It's relevant to your season too as we are most likely going to be promotion rivals. It's not like every thread is about us... Biased? What connections do you have to the snortbeasts?

Latest Update: SHEFFIELD Wednesday was given 28 days to settle its debts with the taxman today after a High Court registrar was told the football club had already made a "substantial payment". Hugo Groves, representing the club, asked for the adjournment of a winding-up petition by Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) after saying money from the sale of players had been used to reduce the outstanding PAYE balance of £550,000. "There are also very serious and advanced negotiations for the sale of the club," he told Mr Registrar Peter Nicholls. HMRC said there had been "a very substantial payment of the debt" but more money was owed since proceedings began and was granted permission to amend the petition.

Hardly. They're still ****.

What I was told came from the mouth of a respected member of the Supporters Trust. You may be right, it may turn out to be wrong, but I trust what he says. You can believe what you like. It doesn't bother me.
-
As I have already said. The PAYE has been paid. The VAT hasn't. From what I have been told a verbal agreement is in place.

That fabrication comes from a Sheffield United messageboard. There were no buildings on the land where the Wednesday ground is. In maps from 1850 the land from the point of Leppings Lane to Broughton Lane including all Hillsborough Park belonged to James Dixon a silver smith. James Dixon sold the park to the corporation soon after when Sheffield expanded the city boundaries for what was said to be a quite considerable amount, And around 1898/9 sold 10 acres of land to The Wednesday for £10,000, said to be “meadow land covered in dandelions”. Herries Road did not exist and was marked as a footpath. Opposite what would be the ground where the fair is, that is marked as “new dam” on the map, and at the side of that Wardsend Steel Works. Hillsborough was a very industrial area full of Foundries, Steelmaking, Brickyards, but no Farms The nearest were in Wadsley Lane and Longley. Tell your piggy friends to jog on and get REAL FACTS.

Errr no. We called them Pigs first. See post 5 in that thread. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?24407-Hypothetical-Premier-League&p=808334#post808334

The court date had already been set so we have to turn up regardless. The only worry I have at present is about the agreement for the other tax bill. I don't have a link I'm afraid. I just know.
-
Haha we probably still wouldn't beat them! We haven't won a 3rd round FA Cup tie in nearly 10 years! After tonights matches I believe. Live on Sky Sports News.

I'd love the Pigs at home.

Our PAYE tax bill has already been paid. An agreement is in place for the remainder of the VAT bill. The transfer embargo has been lifted.

For me personally the 20 would be: Man United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Everton, Tottenham, Man City, Newcastle, Sunderland, Wednesday, L**ds, Forest, West Ham, Derby, Wolves, Blackburn, West Brom, Sheff United, and finally Ipswich or Norwich (I can't pick between them). You could arguably have clubs like Southampton, Leicester, Middlesbrough, Birmingham in for some of the others. You're not far away. Blackburn are in for me on trophies won. I would purely for their success under Clough. Only for 3 of the last 30 seasons have the Pigs had a higher average attendance than us. Going back even further, only very rarely have they been higher in history too. It's only Premiership football, free Under 13s STs, and some buy 1 get 1 free ticket deals that have seen their recent higher crowds. We're bigger than them in just about every other respect too. Bigger ground. More seasons in the top flight. More higher finishes in the top flight. More trophy wins. A trophy win in living memory (the 4th Division win they had doesn't count ) We've been in Europe they haven't. Higher record attendance. Higher record transfer fee paid. More players capped for England. Some other good trivia facts: United took their nickname 'the Blades' from us. Originally we used to be the Blades, and United were the Cutlers, but we ditched it and they took on the nickname the Blades. We call United the Pigs because their red and white striped shirts look like streaky bacon. They copied us by calling us Pigs even though there is no such thing as blue and white bacon. Also, Bramall Lane (before they moved in) used to be our ground. We played there for many years before them and moved to Olive Grove and then to Hillsborough. Again they copied us by moving in. Forever in our shadow.
