  1. Sitting on the bench mostly. He has looked pretty poor from what we've seen of him so far. Buxton is one of our weaker players and he's still keeping him out of the team. Personally I think our squad is better but I'm bound to say that.
  2. A sad reality and it's the same with us at Hillsborough.
  3. We were crap against Brentford. Worst performance we've had for a while. They were more up for it and deserved their win. We just didn't turn up. Dreadfully disappointing. We were lucky it wasn't more. On Saturday Carlisle played reasonably well and deserved a result of some sort, but they were still nothing special. It's a very poor division and definitely worse from what I've seen so far compared to when we were last down in it in 2004. I'm confident it's just a blip. They were well organised without looking overly threatening, but in fairness they took their chance whereas we missed our chances. Our decision making in the final third lost us the game. They were solid but dirty and they were timewasting with 20+ minutes to play. Their fans were very impressive though. They brought nearly 2000 and made quite a racket.
  4. You have a very strong squad no doubt, but I still disagree. IMO you are not the strongest. You are definitely in a false position though and I expect you to take off soon. Hopefully after you've lost at Hillsborough.
  5. No thanks. I'll take my normal seat in the North Stand. I'm looking forward to this. Should hopefully be a good crowd and game.
  6. Really? I think he's a bit of liability in their team. Very tall and good in the air but hopeless with the ball at his feet. Joe Murphy is a cracking keeper and would improve you but he'd cost big bucks. I'm a big fan of Woolford as well. Very good player. ALF would cost upwards of £2m. Rotherham have a new chairman with a lot of cash, they don't need to sell, and they've publicly said on Radio Sheffield that they want that sort of fee for him if he leaves. A lot to pay for a League 2 striker IMO. He's had a decent start to this season but his goalscoring record isn't great. I would have thought your current options were better?
  7. Are these on sale yet? Any idea yet of numbers?
  8. Sorry guys I have had an unwell little lad the past few days so I haven't had much chance to go online. All is not well and it now appears that the board have been a bit 'selective' with the truth with regards to our financial figures and various other goings on. According to our ex-Chairman (now just a ST holder and fan) it turns out that we have a £1.5m 'black hole' in the accounts and that we may have been mislead on other goings on by the Finance Director and other board members. The fans are not happy and I can see things turning nasty if the board are not finally removed. Somehow these dinosaurs are still on the board at the club despite putting their signatures to Dave Allen's lawsuit when he sued some of our own fans, despite overseeing 3 relegations, and despite more than doubling our debt since our initial relegation from the Premier League. They're like a bad smell that just won't go away. In all our years of under-achievement these people have still remained in positions of power at the club despite not contributing their own cash. It is truly unbelievable. You're a closet Blade. Your opinion is invalid. Apparently the initial PAYE bill we were in court for was historical. This has only just surfaced as being the truth just now. It turns out we had additional and current tax monies to pay to HMRC on top of what we paid with the Lee Grant transfer money. Nick Parker the CEO was supposed to be communicating openly with the fans trust (he publicly said he would do this) yet despite knowing full well about the financial situation and what was going on, he neglected to mention this at a recent previous trust meeting despite his pledge of honesty and openness. The Co-op Bank have bailed us out (AGAIN) for now but I don't know how much longer this will go on. We have been incredibly fortunate to have the support we have had from them. We only received two bids in total for Marcus both from the same club (Blackpool). Both of the bids were under £500k. Would you accept that? To pay off historical tax monies owed to HMRC. I'm not sure but I presume it also covered part of the 'black hole' I mentioned earlier. Like you say, for now.
  9. Ex player of ours but talk about a step backwards if he is appointed. I'm shocked. Not a good manager IMO.
  10. I have to admit I did think it sounded a bit odd. I can't remember too well because it was that long ago, but I didn't think they would have sold it out, or come close to it. 2294 is the lower tier capacity mate.
  11. Capacity is just over 16k but then again in fairness their ground hasn't had that capacity for a long time. It's their first season in the modern Prem but they've been in the top flight before. They've even won the FA Cup believe it or not! At first I was wanting them to do well but now I hope they get relegated. Holloway seriously took the **** out of us this week. First by (genuinely) offering £400k for Marcus Tudgay on Friday, and then by mocking our league position and saying Marcus "even scored double figures with them" last season. We might be **** but we still did the double over them last season. They're really not that good.
  12. I'm very much looking forward to it. Top result yesterday lads. Nearly as good as ours.
  13. It's awful and it's spreading everywhere.
  14. The South Yorkshire and Edinburgh accents in that video are terrible.
  15. In our next 7 matches I'm hoping for 4 wins and 1 draw which would put us on 20 points after 10 games. Looking at our fixtures I think it's doable. You ideally will want to be on around about the same which would be 6 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss. If we keep that up over the season we'll finish in the top 2. Saturday, 28 August 2010 Hartlepool v Sheff Wed, 15:00 Sunday, 5 September 2010 Brentford v Sheff Wed, 12:00 Saturday, 11 September 2010 Sheff Wed v Carlisle, 15:00 Saturday, 18 September 2010 Plymouth v Sheff Wed, 15:00 Saturday, 25 September 2010 Sheff Wed v Southampton, 15:00 Tuesday, 28 September 2010 Sheff Wed v Oldham, 19:45 Saturday, 2 October 2010 Notts County v Sheff Wed, 15:00
  16. It's not that long ago that we were top of the Premiership at this stage and for quite a few more games. Now it means absolutely nothing. Rochdale may be a smaller club than Southampton and Sheffield Wednesday but like us both they are where they are on merit. We may want better but we are all currently third division clubs like it or not. Spot on. I wish some of our fans would realise and think like this too.
  17. Very nice. I'm loving the new Oirish lass on SkySports News too. She is yummy.
  18. Group A: Internazionale Werder Bremen Tottenham Twente Group B: Lyon Benfica Schalke 04 Hapoel Tel-Aviv Group C: Manchester United Valencia Rangers Bursaspor Group D: Barcelona Panathinaikos FC Copenhagen Rubin Kazan Group E: Bayern Munich Roma FC Basel CFR Cluj Group F: Chelsea Marseille Spartak Moscow Zillina Group G: AC Milan Real Madrid Ajax Auxerre Group H: Arsenal Shakhtar Braga Partizan Tough draw for Spurs and Group G looks a cracker!
  19. Lee's game isn't about his goals. His game is about his physical presence, strength and prowess in the air. He will be handful for every defence in the league this season. He probably wouldn't start for us or you at Southampton but he's still a very good signing for this level.
  20. You're not alone. We have the exact same problem on our forum with regards to players. Lee will be a decent signing for them. He's a handful and will definitely cause problems for defenders in this league.
  21. 7 out of 9 is a great start but we will drop points at times during the season as well. It's a disappointing start for you but it's a bit early to be panicking. A good run in your next few games will see you right up there at the business end of the league.
  22. Our wage budget has been cut from just over £6.5m to £5.5m this season. I don't know if yours is higher than that? That's why I was asking! Do you know the figure? Huddersfield won't be far off either. Alan Lee has signed for them today too. There's no doubt your the biggest spenders transfer wise though!
  23. Some over-reactions in here. The table will start to look a lot more realistic and defined after 10-12 games. If you're still behind Rochdale after that then it's time to panic. You'll still make the top 3.
  24. I'll have a crap anywhere except outdoor public toilets. Work/pubs/mates houses no problem. Definitely need a landing mat in a pub though!
  25. I really like the new format.
