Can you provide some links of where I have jumped on threads which are of no interest to me just to constantly have a pop at someone? No? No, didn't think you could. -

Not really, you are just some jumped up no-mark from the States who has an opinion over things which are of no concern or impact to him. ( Not talking about this subject, I am talking about your 'opinions' about Installment plans, booking fees etc etc. -

Pointless speaking to mongs like you Johnny. What FACTS have you given me? The advertising space is SIGNIFICANTLY down on what it was last season, it's a debate... thats all... don't get your knickers in a twist sweetie. There is around half of the sponsorship space taken up... tonight it might be 'slightly' more because of Carling... but around HALF of the sponsorship space around the ground is taken up for a league game. Want to prove me wrong? Take some pictures tonight Johnny, of all 4 sides. This has turned into such a tedious thread now and mainly because of mongs like you. If you are not interested in the subject then how about you f*ck off and post on something you are interested in... much like I do... you can say what you want about me, I don't jump on threads and hijack them... attention seeking mongs like you do. -

Haha... another person who is not interested in the thread or subject yet clicks on the link and then decides to comment on it... And even tries to have a snobby arsed dig to prove he is better than someone else ( did anyone mention Telephone advertising sales, or are you HONESTLY telling me you know more about the job than me? What a mong ) Yep, you're another one of the mong fans I refer to. I think we can lock it now. Maybe you could find another thread you are not interested in to click on the blatantly obvious link then go to the effort of telling people you're not interested. Funny Guy. -

The second picture shows pretty much all of the touchline? LMFAO - talk about spin. I can only assume you weren't at the game. Agreed the non-TV side was busier than the 'TV side' , but still... it was nowhere near full... Where you at the game? Seriously? Ther was about 6 advertising boards on the TV side... most, if not all being the Ofiicial Football League Partners! Not much point debating when you are just going to make things up. We have some proper mong fans but you are right up there with them... -

Well done Mr Pedant. What the fook has it got to do whether it's a cricket stadium or football stadium close? Seriously... and as for the advertising at Hillsborough... read the OP you plank... it's pretty obvious what I am talking about... perimeter advertising, you know, the boards that go round the field of play. There is no spaces at Hillsborough... A cricket crowd and a football crowd are a completely different audience on the whole... yes some watch both, but not all, apart from T20 etc... so don't expect people rushing to advertise in St Marys once the cricket season is finished. Anyway, seriously, just an observation and you hysterical tarts whinging on again and protecting your leader. -

Well I have been talking about our perimeter advertising, which was less than a third occupied, whereas there is not a single place left at Hillsborough. Fact? Yes, I thought so too Also... how did you come to the conclusion where there used to be advertising boards? Do you check on the webcam every day for the last 3 years? -

Can you point and highlight where there is frontline perimeter advertising space free? I can't find any. Thanks. -

Or maybe some of you should engage your brain a little bit before opening a thread? "Sponsorship and Corporate Hospitality" is hardly a cryptic title is it? It's pretty obvious what the subject is about, so if you are not interested in that aspect of the club, then why the fook open the thread in the first place? -

Some of us have the luxury of being able to rack up the majority of their posts in work time. Others are jealous. -

Don't be such a cry baby. You ranted for me to 'Get a f*cking life' just because you got proved wrong, to which i responded. Then you got proved wrong again and you change the subject and ignore that fact. -

Read it again. I did get the job. I didn't take it ( because of the lack of job security due to pending administration ) . Stupid. -

I think it is fair to say Dune that I might be more qualified that most to comment on this subject. -

Because 1) I have worked extensively in a number of Sponsorship and Advertising sales roles. 2) I went for interview with SFC and was offered a job as a Corporate Sponsorship Sales Executive 18 months ago. So I done alot of research on SFC's advertising strategy and was shown around the various departments and explained in detail what the job would entail and how business was attracted. 3) I am a regular Corporate Customer myself at SFC in the MLT Suite or one of the Boxes... as a result have friends that have/are sponsoring SFC. How's that? -

Advertising is done on a seasonal basis. And prices/renewals negotiated each pre-season. This has to be the case due the the Premier League having their own affilated sponsors which need advertising space. So it is like for like. And Sheff Weds are on the brink of Admin, I don't think they wouldn't bother to try and grab every penny possible. -

Already done it with the 'like for like' Sheff Weds. And our prices are exactly the same ( to the penny ) You can't compare to any other club in our League fairly, as the demand and value for money is mainly based on crowd attendance, then T.V exposure, then press exposure. -

The money worries don't seem to be coming from Advertising, as the place is crammed with advertisers. -

There is no big revelation... if you want to look further into things for reason then cost and competition could play a part in the lack of Hospitality takeup, I am not sure why so many sponsors have backed off this year, it does seem as though SFC are not as 'close' to the Corporate community as they were previous to this regime. Make of that what you will. -

Firstly, advertising in general will be done on a seasonal basis... it's much better value rather than on a match by match basis. Secondly... without even bothering to look down the list, take a look at Sheffield Wednesday, who have a well supported higher division team a couple of miles up the road... yet they seem to be doing well. So what exactly is flawed? -
There is regional variations. And there was often pictures in the nationals... and anyway, it's not just about that, nationals like the Sun and The Mirror and others that I don't know of are refusing to even write up a report. It's not just about that though... look on Plymouths forum - They think Southampton and are chairman are c*nts. Look on Orients forum - They think Southampton and are chairman are c*nts. Look on Bournemouths forum - They think Southampton and are chairman are c*nts. Now I don't like the cute little family club image, but its fookin stupid to make pretty much every person that comes across our club think we are an arrogant dirty Leeds-esque club. It costs respect, it stops people wanting to do business with you, it costs advertising, it costs hospitality, the loss in revenue is alot more than a few snaps...

Misjudged is the word I would use for most of the decisions he has made, and yes, definately about the British Press. That was a completely naive and ill-informed decision. You will never get one over the British press... they are a close-knit bunch and all generally stick together. This is now a test of how stubborn he is... because the press won't back down and it will only ever have a negative outcome for the club. I actually find The Suns way of dealing with it quite amusing and shows a bit of good ol' British sense of humour.

The BBC is different in the way it is owned by me, you and the rest of Joe Public. They have a duty to report on the countries largest supported club and could not justify a boycott of Man Utd. Also, Ferguson might refuse to speak to the BBC... but Man Utd have a duty to provide a spokesman from the management team to provide post-match analysis, Phelan in most cases. The Premier League would not allow Ferguson to have a similar boycott of Sky. And the Premier League would not allow any Premier League team to shut their doors to the worlds press and media photographers ( which is what Cortese is doing )
-
Do you think NickG that the move by Cortese to ban photographers has so far been a positive one? If so, can you please include reasons for this and what benefits banning them has brought to the club and fans?
