Seriously? He was the scapegoat for ages. Mainly because in many fans eyes Jack Cork could do no wrong and Wanyama was in his place.

On Celtic players being rubbish, I think we have successfully disproved that with Wanyama. The only position that comes with a false representation from Celtic would be strikers, as it is too easy to score goals in Scotland. Look at Gary Hooper, I remember when we were gutted not to get him, but he has been largely pants for Norwich both in the Premier League and the Championship.

I think van Dijk would be a good move. Ball playing centre half and young, but.... ....I'm not quite as panicky about a centre half as everyone else. Yoshida was great everytime he deputised last season, Gardos I think the jury is still out on and Jack Stephens and Jordan Turnball came back from Swindon with rave reviews. Basically, if we sign another one it needs to be one that is 100% better than all of those other options or otherwise there isn't much point.

I had never heard of this guy until yesterday, but someone on Twitter is saying he used to play for Erwin Koeman, which would add some weight to the reasoning.

I think he is an ideal signing. Young enough to still be moulded, won't be insistent on starting every week, natural goalscorer. Personally I am always bemused at the overrating of Ings. We have better in Rodriguez/Long.
