  1. Marsch tried signing Che in January, so expect him to be heavily involved.
  2. It would be very harsh for any of us to stick the blame onto Marsch if we are indeed to be relegated. Our chance of survival, with the fixtures left for all involved, are extremely bleak. I for one wouldn’t be lamenting Marsch if he can’t turn it around now. In fact, I’d be quite excited about what a manager like him could do for us in Championship.
  3. He kept a dreadful Leeds side up last year. How on earth can that qualify him as completely useless? Lost Raphina and Phillips. Got forwards who can’t hit a barn door with a banjo. And above us! He isn’t a marquee announcement, but I’d be mind blown if we could even entertain anyone with a better CV to contemplate the job. Please inform, realistically, who we SHOULD be announcing?
  4. Taking my young boy to this for his first away day. Be the first time I've driven to this one, so any pointers as to good parking spots or owt would be appreciated. Going to get up there early doors so he can see the team arrive etc. Bit different to my usual away day! 😁
  5. Valid point.
  6. You want us to get a proven lower level manager over a proven top level manager because the top level manager doesn't have experience in the lower level?
  7. This is the main point for me. Considering he took a job which was literally a hiding to nothing, he done very well. Leeds fans in general are hardly the easiest to keep happy and their squad isn’t half as good as they think it is.
  8. That Leeds side is no better than us. What we lack in experience, they lack in ability. It’s a very ordinary side. Its entirely feasible we go our next ten league games without a win. We have a horrible set of fixtures coming up. Leeds (A) and Leicester (H) the only two you’d hope to come away with something, but Elland Road a horrible place to go and Leicester could obliterate us on their day.
  9. I think he has overachieved with that squad. Man for man, I’d pick most of our squad over theirs any day of the week.
  10. Think the general consensus was his Copenhagen team fell apart when Selles and the other lead coach left.
  11. … wept. 👀
  12. Wakey wakey, rise and shine.
  13. I wouldn’t grumble with Gerrard either. I’d be surprised if he wanted it, but think he’d be really good for us long term if we were to go down.
  14. He looked at NJ funny, I think.
  15. Good point.
  16. Think that lad had a rapid bump down to planet earth. He was loaned out to St Gallen last year, started just five times and averaged 30 minutes over 16 appearances. This year he has been punted down to the Challenge League with Thun... started nine times, been hooked in every one of them and averaged 45 minutes over 14 appearances. Not bad for a lad demanding Premier League football at 18 year old.
  17. I think this is what Rasmus meant when they said they would only pull the trigger on NJ when they no longer believed, or however it was put. Seems nonsensical to me, as a change as soon as it was obvious it was going to be a disaster (Forest) would've seen us fair a far better chance. How the trigger wasn't pulled after Brentford is beyond me. Totally wasted the Wolves fixture.
  18. I think Sport Republic would've been working overtime over the last few weeks (possibly even months), having realised this was going south rapidly. They certainly wouldn't have been sitting with their thumbs up there arses until Sunday morning before starting to look at managers. If Marsch is appointed in the next day or two, they would've been in contact with him last week and would've been speaking to others, too. Worth bearing in mind, we've missed out on some potentially good managers by not pulling the trigger on more than one occasion now. With us or elsewhere, Jesse Marsch won't be out of work for long, so if we want him, we'll want to move quickly.
  19. You're looking for a problem here because you've decided you don't like Marsch. Stop misquoting people. It makes you look childish.
  20. For his first start in the Prem, I and man others thought Tall Paul done very well Saturday. There was a noteable difference in our outlet once Che replaced him (i.e. none).
  21. I think an impending relegation will put Gerrard off, personally. Villa has tainted his reputation and whilst going down with us wouldn't be his fault, it would still be on his watch and he would carry that with him. More chance of him coming once we're in the Championship. Marsch has already proven enough not to worry about carrying that. Gerrard is at a very different stage of his career.
  22. Harsh, IMO. Leeds a notoriously difficult one and with what he had, he didn't do a bad job. A side who heavily relied upon Patrick Bamford... We thought we had it bad with Che, but blow me! Lad is dreadful. Looking at our squad as a whole, I think we're in a better place than Leeds to work under his system. His sacking at Leeds wasn't met with universal welcome.
  23. Fixture Pessimistic Realistic Optimistic Chelsea (A) 0 0 1 Leeds (A) 1 1 3 Leicester (H) 1 3 3 Man United (A) 0 0 0 Brentford (H) 0 1 3 Tottenham (H) 0 0 0 West Ham (A) 0 1 1 Man City (H) 0 0 0 Palace (H) 1 3 3 Arsenal (A) 0 0 0 Bournemouth (H) 3 3 3 Newcastle (A) 0 0 1 Forest (A) 1 3 3 Fulham (H) 3 3 3 Brighton (A) 0 1 1 Liverpool (H) 0 0 1 10 19 26
  24. Typo'd the title FFS.
  25. Looks like there's legs in this. Will come with an air of negativity from some sections, given his recent sacking from Leeds and the negativity which come out from them around him. They're not finding it easy to replace him, though. For us, I think he'd be a good fit. Plays a system that would suit us. Has a Premier League relegation survival on his CV and would likely stick around to see us try and rebuild in the Championship, should we go down. We're not going to be spoilt for choice and I think he'd be a far safer shout than the likes of Gerrard, Lampard and maybe even Rooney, who Adam Blackmore mentioned. The likes of Gallardo and Poch etc are pipedreams who we had little chance of attracting before we were rooted to the bottom of the league, let alone now.
