Oddly specific.

Two* (Beech). But yes, is a good nominal fee for a 16 year old.
-
Sound, cheers. Strange thing to post if nothing in it considering he would be well aware of links to us.

His size and strength is what looks so promising, as his touch and pace on the ball is deadly with his physical attributes. Looks a mighty handful and leagues above our other options.
-
I'm loving the look of this Joe Aribo. Looks a classy player.

How Ings is even a contemplation is beyond me. F*** him.

One of the highest rated young English forwards, if not the highest, from the powerhouse of English football...? I thought the reported (and likely inaccurate) prices we went in at were totally unrealistic for a player well under contract.
-
I have to disagree with this. I think SR are just going about their business without telling everyone (us included) what they're actually out to do. There have been a few murmurs from out transfers/links to suggest that when we're approaching players we're doing so with a "project" in mind, which would suggest a fair improvement on investment from what we've seen over the last near ten years. They just aren't shouting about the fact.

Don't think I've seen a player get so much universal praise from his departed fanbase. Very promising signing, at a mere snip. Really liked what I have seen of him, albeit very limited.
-
He started his career as a CB, apparently.

Whilst I hate the home kit, I absolutely love the away kit!

How this guy wasn't a regular after his performance at Stamford Bridge is beyond me. He's worth ten Bednarek's. Yes, he is prone to a mistake, but he has what we've been desperately lacking in some actual determination and leadership. We're as soft as they come all over the pitch and this warrior changes that dynamic on his own. Be baffled if he is shipped out, but this is Ralph... Who doesn't want any other leaders.
-
Definitely wasn't POTY, but he did have one full season under his belt, correct. I overlooked that, granted, but I also think he had a very big push from Norwich just on who is old man is. Lad was genuinely shocking for us.
-
Stop the ball going in the goal. If they can do that, it doesn't really matter how they do it, and this lad is evidently good at that. Everyone looks good on their YouTube highlight reel, but blow me there are some serious saves in that there.
-
Gunn was totally unproven, though. This lad has actually impressed where he has gone, which inclusive of International level, far exceeds that of Angus Gunn (who was a shower of sh*t.)

Was hoping to see an improvement on Kizbichler myself but that is at least progress and recognition that serious changes are required.

Keeping Track of the Contracts 2024-25
saintscottofthenortham replied to Over land and sea's topic in The Saints
A good number two, who is happy to play the role of a number two, is actually massive. There are numerous examples of average keepers who have played massive parts in successful sides. Keeping it competitive but having the genuine means to encourage and support the number one, whilst being able to step in when needed. Two genuine number ones, which we've effectively been playing with as they are arguably both as bad as each other in some ways, can put undue pressure on and lead the acting number two to want the number one to fail. Keeper is a unique position, not like anywhere else on the pitch, and the three or four keepers in the ranks should all know their position and be very good at each part of it. Like a team, within a team. For me, we are lacking in every department here. Rattled me when Ralph came out and explicitly said we don't and won't have a number one, and I've zero faith in our coaching either, allowing that to even be a thing. I think you'd struggle to find another example of this, especially at the level we're at. No defence would choose to operate with varying keepers. They should know each other inside out. -

I think the scoreboard will look something like this... -
That doesn't suit their Ralph In agenda, though.

We're going to finish around 3-5 points from Safety, despite having looked like threatening a top 10 finish. If you're happy with that, bravo. We are fortunate there have been some consistently abysmal sides in the league this year... Both of which we've lost to this season. Ralph has orchestrated many good results, do not get me wrong. But he has orchestrated some as many, if not more, shocking results. Added to his systematically woeful decision making in both team selection and how he handles players, I do not see how he can take us forward. Mind blown how anyone can even fight his corner now, if I'm honest. I didn't even mention in my points how he has handled Adam Armstrong, which I agree with the majority, has been disgraceful. If he can't be trusted to pick a strongest XI (from the fans perspective), how can we trust him to spend a transfer kitty and build a stronger squad. I genuinely fear for how he'd go about it. I've had serious concerns over him for a long time, but now the masses are starting to turn too. It looks like he has lost the players already, so...? Days are numbered.
