Maitland-Niles' nightmare in Nottingham
saintscottofthenortham replied to Fraser Spinney's topic in The Saints
IMO what Selles asked AMN to do there was akin to asking a Mechanic to wire your house. -
Definitely good enough for Championship, IMO. He is mental and has a clanger in him, but everything does happen a step slower in Championship. Think he'd almost shine there, to be honest. Comparison to Jos is fair. He was a very mediocre player even at that level and he got us by. I'd rate Lyanco a bit above Jos too.

Proud of you, Grandad. You've come a long way.
-
Exactly this. We need a near total nuke.

The going down doesn't hurt, as I've been resigned to it since Forest at home. What hurts for me is how we have limped, like a wounded stray dog, head first into it. In 2005 we put up fight in the face of it. This time round... Well, it's been utterly pathetic. That hurts more, in a very different way. Probably because, as many of said, we so clearly deserve it.

The statistics referred to is based on defensive actions, so as a unit how much defending we have to do, effectively. It's not about how good our defending is, but how often we are doing it, which isn't as often as many other teams above us. As such, that makes Baz's (and latterly McCarthy) record all the more damning. In short, the feeling we have that pretty much every shot against us goes in, is in fact the case.
-
Damning.

The second half at home to ten-man Wolves, will never be beaten.

Jose Fonte to return next season (Twitter Rumour)

This guy man... If you could epitomize the idiocy of your everyday football fan. -
The strangest thing about our entire scenario is that 99% of Saints fans would do exactly this.
-
Exactly. That is a sign of how things will be next year, which is deeply troubling.

Did I read that we'd actually offered Elnousey a new contract? If we did, then f*** me. Quite a sign of the times that he'd have the gall to reject it, too. How sh*t are we.

Like I said earlier in the thread, you compare what the top keepers of the Prem of the last few years were doing, it puts it into perspective. The only real anomoly is David De Gea, which... Well, they don't come around every day and even he had a horrorshow of a first season or two.

Bazunu should've spent this season on loan in League One. Next season would be a toss up between League One/Championship. Fair chance he'll actually fair okay for us in Championship and probably, considering we've completely thrown him under the bus this year, deserves that chance. Many pros have said about the gulf in class between Championship and Prem. The balls come at you that much faster. Everything happens that much quicker. etc etc etc. He will be a good keeper, he is just being expected far too much, far far far too soon. If we went straight back up, he'd still be too young for Prem by a year or so. That's how much we've thrown him under the bus here.

He owns Sport Republic. Dragan is just the investor behind Sport Republic. So... in theory, Dragan can pull out and we're just left with... Rasmus. Wept.

Saints 0-1 Cherries - Match Thread

Well, expectedly pathetic. Team selection was diabolical. Performance was diabolical. I'm actually pleased we're going to see most of these go. Utterly rancid crop of people, players and staff included. -
Rasmus if effectively a joint-owner, so no matter how big a bollix he makes of it, he isn't going anywhere. Dragan will be gone before Rasmus, or his money will at the very least. The only way Rasmus goes is if he is brought out.
-
Comfortably good enough, for me.
-
I actually really like him. The fact he does everything with such calm that it makes him look like he doesn’t give a toss, but he does everything to a decent level, even when chucked in at CB. Sort of player who will go on for years, too. Great squad player for us IMO.
-
Walker-Peters with, easily, his worst 45 I've seen from him. Adam Armstrong invisible. Moi, not much better. Rest of them are flying, to be fair. How Alcaraz isn't the first name on every team sheet is beyond me.
-
No… he is THE worst in Europe. It’s not even close, either.

All huff, no puff… again. Totally clueless when we get into the final third. Aribo showing why he hasn’t been near the squad. Sulemana doing what he does. Reckless and headless. Theo and Alcaraz the only positives going forward. -

Really? What has he achieved? He has fucked up literally everything he has tried. Touch of a rapist and a ton of beans for brains. -
No wonder Viafara couldn't wait to get home. I'd read that he wanted to go home whilst he was still here and then saw him at the Mayflower Holiday Inn after Claus's Testimonial... I asked him why and he said he was homesick. Little did we know his plan!! 😂
