  1. Exactly this. It has been a massive issue for Blackmore for some time. He point blank refuses to ask the genuinely difficult questions that a plethora of fans have been asking for a long long time. The way he suggested prior to the fans forum that he indeed WAS going to ask the difficult questions, only to ask leaded questions in a way that laid the foundation to make a mockery of any suggestion he has done anything that could possibly be criticised, was the nail in the coffin for me. Used to love listening to Radio Solent on matchdays, but the Blackmore/Ralph love-in has really tainted it for me.
  2. Never liked what I saw of that lads attitude on the pitch but he didn't come across quite such a wrongun.
  3. Can we fix the grammar in the title, please? Turkish' lowercase use is giving me kittens.
  4. Exactly my thoughts. Alex Clapham jumping ship within weeks of joining stunk of this to me.
  5. When is soon? The very first post in this thread is dated 25th October 2019 and it highlights the exact issues we are facing still now. Ralph is very likely the most fortunate manager in Premier League history not to have been pumped. Two 9-0's, baffling starting XI's, tactics and substitutions. He has ticked every box for the pump, but because he was given an insane contract we've held fire on the pump shot in vein hope of a miraculous turnaround. Well, guess what? Give him all the time in the world... It isn't happening.
  6. Sleepwalking into the Championship.
  7. The strangest thing is, I'd wager a good coin that we'll never actually see this XI.
  8. For me, the problem isn't getting it wrong. If he was trying different things and it backfires, then fair do's for trying it. My problem with Ralph, which caused me to lose faith in him a long time ago, is his persistent nonsensical decisions which he repeats over and over. His starting line-ups, to what must be the vast majority of us, are just baffling. Then, when it so obviously isn't working, he refuses to change it. How he could seriously watch that on Friday and decide to take Che Adams off whilst Mo El-no-usey was quite literally wasting a space on the pitch, was beyond words. The man makes decisions like he is cracking up, and not in a funny way.
  9. Managerial statistics[edit] As of matches played 16 September 2022 Managerial record by team and tenure Team From To Record P W D L GF GA GD Win % Ref. 10. What he said. Word, for word.
  11. Utterly done with this clown. The odd big result means nothing when he just cannot see what his own best XI is. He consistently makes utterly baffling decisions both with his team selection and in-game management, and that tells all we need to know. I switched off at half-time last night... Something I've never ever done. And I did so with every confidence that it wasn't going to change. Flicking onto Sky Sports app for score update to see Elyounoussi still on the pitch after nearly 80 minutes was the final straw, whilst he takes off Che. Fraudster.
  12. Shit show. Yet again, I ask the question, what the fuck does this twit see in Elyounoussi? Ralph even wore the Villa colours, the moron.
  13. Are you still getting a fair share just as a member?
  14. Exactly this. I was a ST holder throughout the League One and Championship days and done the majority of away games. My life now means a ST would be wasted on me, but I'd still love to get to the odd away game, which without this approach by the club I've no chance.
  15. Can anyone justify the starting of Mo over Stu? Bar 45 mins v Chelsea, Mo has been desperately average and numerous times his wayward passing has opened us up when our defence has been most exposed. The Wolves goal Saturday came from him giving the ball away, again. Has good performances in him, but nowhere near this level and our record with Stu vs without speaks for itself.
  16. Sounded like both had the option to terminate their contracts and move on (likely a meet in the middle job), but alas. Both awful and a big symbol of our recent issues. That Walcott signing was bewildering.
  17. I'd suggest the fact Redmond and Walcott obviously both had more interest in rotting in the wilderness whilst collecting a wage, rather than take a pay cut and see out their playing days in the Championship, also played a part in us not getting a forward over the line. Two of our bigger earners, ashamedly, who would've opened a fair chunk to throw at someone.
  18. Fair play to the lad. I'm sure the appeal of Chelsea/City is become less so with how obvious it is becoming of the limited chances these lads receive. Tyler would've almost certainly featured against Cambridge for example, whilst he was bedding in at Chelsea and realising just how far down the pecking order he was likely to be. Sounds like Chelsea worked with Saints as soon as it become apparent, so fair play to them on that. Hopefully he can be a good influence to our other youngsters, when they are having the lure dangled in front of them.
  19. 8/10 on the window as a whole, for me. A mere half-decent striker away from a 10/10. We were obviously seeking a striker, but for whatever reason it hasn't happened. I would though rather we closed the window without a signing than risk another Carrillo and pull the trigger on anyone down the list, such as a Ben Brereton Diaz. 😏 We've gone into this window with little to no expectancy, thinking we were very much in the same boat as we were under Gao with precious little said from anyone at SR. We've come out of it with all our best players still on the books, a wealth of young talent, big moves behind the scenes and seemingly more ammunition to go to war with in January, if and when the opportunity arises. Certainly cause for optimism.
  20. Maxime Lacroix one that excites me. Far more so than Caleta-Car, who looks a very average defender to me.
  21. This doesn't bode well... Flew out from Doncaster last night. Looks Leeds bound. https://www.flightradar24.com/TIE60AM/2d4b1c34 EDIT: May be hope yet... https://twitter.com/AndrewHaigh/status/1565221873474052097?s=20&t=aFOcCDQ3pEnp19UnvSNRNg “Reliable reports are coming in from Eindhoven Airport that Gakpo did not board the plane to Leeds this morning. Leeds United's TD Victor Orta flies back to England alone....” #lufc
  22. It was Mara with the overhead. No idea why they all called it Lyanco.
  23. Ralph upping his game on the bizarre substitutions.
  24. Are you sat down...? ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... £72k. Source - https://salarysport.com/football/premier-league/southampton-f.c./
