  1. It was just one of them??? Yeh I s'pose it does sound very american... probably why they are doing so well over there. They have always had that sound though so cant be accused of selling out. They came back to do a show at Talking Heads, couple of weeks before the world cup, just to say "We know where we belong" sort of thing. Really are a nice group and I hope they do make it big time. Hate the new name though... 'Fleeing New York' is so much better than 'Band of Skulls'
  2. From the first time I saw Martin play (Southend) I have wanted him to be our permanent centre back. He really does have something about him. Jaidi, as I said before, I felt sorry for on the opening day against Plymouth. He looked so out of touch and could barely move by 75 minutes. He is a big lump, great in the air and reads the game well, but unfortunatly, his legs have gone. Martin is, for his age, a very very clever player. He isn't the biggest of lads but will throw himself into a challenge. I hope to see him play Saturday. I didnt go last night, but from what I could gather on Saints player he kept someone who many believe should be in the england squad, very quiet indeed.
  3. 'Candy'. Not many people i know have seen this, but it is a fantastic performance by the late Heath ledger. Had me blubbin through the credits.
  4. Learn something new every day hey Mikey. Whats more encouraging is that they have a shed load of excellent material that didnt make it onto that album, so expect to hear more from them. They are fast becoming very, very big across the pond, recently sold out quite a few 2,000+ venues over there and are now on tour down under. Looking forward to them coming back home, could well be playing The Guildhall by then though.
  5. Amazon's hidden sales pages (so they can advertise on bus stops etc that they have a 75%-99% off); http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/cheap-amazon-loopholes Scroll down the page until you see all the different sections, then have a butchers. Alot of it is carp, but there are some absolute bargains to be had. Just down to luck whats on there each day, but I have had some right steals.
  6. Oh deary... deary... me. He did have notoriously bad taste in music, until he met Doherty. Seems he may have lost his way! haha! That is shocking. My ears are currently being treated to Band of Skulls - 'Baby Darling Doll Face Honey'. A Southampton Band, ruddy good aswell. They use to be called 'Fleeing New York' and held "ClubFleeingNewYork" down at Talking Heads every friday night, where they would host bands from the south and every other week they would play at the end. A lovely bunch, and i must admit i was gutted when they folded. Good job that just days later they reformed, under a differnt label, with a different name and bugger me... they all of a sudden find themselves on the soundtrack for that 'Twilight' vampire filmy malarky... Meaning my days of watching em' for jut a couple of gold coins were well and truly over. Here's a link if ya fancy a gander at what they are like...
  7. I'm seriously questioning why I pay for that "service". From what I did manage to get from Saints (sometimes plays) Player, it was a pretty good performance.
  8. too late AGAIN punch...
  9. Precisely. I would have liked to go tonight, purely to hurl abuse at that twot Taylor. But I cant justify £20 for a midweek cup game, and it looks like many others feel the same. Should send a good message though with having such a small crowd.
  10. £20 a ticket.
  11. Thank god I saw sense and fobbed off the tracker mortgage i was offered.
  12. Yet another human being amazing me.
  13. Spot on. These are the same people who were pi**ing and moaning that we weren't signing anyone, now we have they moan about who we have signed. Danns this, Stock that... STFU.
  14. Just joined... Urine-Trouble guys!
  15. I used to be uber funny about leaving my deposits anywhere other than home... but after 7 years of building sites and portaloo's, my standards have somewhat dropped. The thing is with the portaloo's, they are THAT bad that I just dont even feel giving the seat a wipe actually makes it any cleaner. You soon get used to that though, and learn to appreciate them.
  16. I have two teams entered but as of yet have failed to join a mini-league. Anyone on here a part of one that maybe I could gatecrash? haha. I have searched it but didnt get anything, so i do apolololologise if I just aint looking in the right place.
  17. i think die to the fact we have popped Chievo & Roma to signing a Brazilian, has left us with a slight feeling of anticipation and excitement. Add to that, the fact that every bid of him in YouTube is him smashing in long range rifles first time, 30 odd yard free kicks and getting some pretty good assists. I can't help but think that once this fella gets to grips with the pace and physical side of English football he is going to be a major asset for us.
  18. Sorry pal, but that is totally wrong. Waigo clearly struggled with getting to grips with keeping onside from the start, and continued to do so. It wasn't a question of him looking for a ball and then being offside by the time the ball made it's way to him. It was a problem where he would constantly be in an offside position WHEN looking for the ball. It was infuriating to watch, because he had the pace over near on every single defender he come up against... But this was Papa Waigo. I loved the guy. Never before had I watched a footballer able to completely and utterly baffle himself, but he managed it time and time again. For this reason, I will miss him... But IMHO he wasn't a good footballer. Final ball was horrific with what must have been 90% of his crosses going out for a goal kick before even hitting the near post, and although he scored some crucial goals for us, none of them were "good" goals and he did miss some guilt edge chances. Don't think I'm slagging the guy rotten here, I loved him, but I am pointing out why I think (and probably AP thought) he just wasn't worth the £500k + that he would have set us back to make the switch permanent. There are better options for that sort of money.
  19. 'Hard Candy'. Ever so slightly fckd up.
  20. I reckon this is gonna be one hell of a signing! Got my Brizzle ticket this morning so looking forward to watching his debut! COYS!
  21. pfft. he's brazilian - blatantly has to be ace at football.
  22. I cant remember the last time i watched him and genuinely thought "He played well today".
  23. You just answered your own question. If he has been in Italy for 8 years, he will have a dual passport.
  24. Would you have said that if the desperately unlucky Lee Barnard had been an inch more fortunate? Or if the Keeper hadn't pulled off a Worldy from lambo's header? Or if (the SHEEEEEITE) Dan Harding had not shown the composure of a 5 year old when he blazed high AND wide from 3 yards out, without an O in sight?? The truth is, we were significantly better and it really was just one of them days. Our bench, for obvious reasons, isn't up to scratch, but AP has made it quite clear that this will be addressed. It's just about waiting so we get the best players for this club - Something he believes, and I'm with him, will benefit us come next May. Stop moaning and picking fault and talking complete and utter carp ffs.
