The difference some confidence can make. What a difference in this man now.

What a fooookin save at Deepdale. 🔥

Well, Grandad hasn't changed his tune from last year I see. I remain convinced it is in fact Bazunu's grandad. It's the only logical explanation.

Saints 1-1 Rotherham - Match Thread

Had it working a treat but need a good VPN. -
Well... Good to know we can win ugly. That was a far from enoyable watch, but GTFI!! If we shouldn't have had it put to bed already, Mara blowing that chance wide was the decider of how the last fifteen went. Unforgiveable. Lad is miles off it. Looking a different outfit at the back though, and that is surely down to THB and the Polish Maldini. What a partnership they could become. Can't see a way back for Stephens at this rate. Shea Charles is a Rolls Royce in the making. Loved how he instantly got a hold of that midfield, where Smallbone had been getting overrun. Massive result and blow me.........a clean ******* sheet!!

I was blowing my top over this at the time. He got away with it, but it was totally unnecessary. This is stuff you learn when you're 8 years old... It's not something you should ever see a professional do, at any level. Whilst most of our goals this season haven't been able to be pointed at Baz for, he hasn't kept many out. You expect a GK to pull off some saves they just shouldn't, but Baz just doesn't seem to. He does at least appear to have learnt not to stand on his post when a ball is squared into the box, which is a vast improvement on last year. Now he just needs to learn to actually save them, but he is gibing himself a chance at least.

Easily the worst debut I've ever witnessed. Looked a fish out of water for every second he was on the pitch. It was a fairly obvious result with his reputation at Everton. Given how shite they've been in recent years, for him to be written off from that bunch is quite a thing. Looks a truly abysmal signing.

We loved it! Cheer up.

Agree, but you need the ability to go with it. Not like he hasn't had his chances. Woeful move for Everton, this.

I didn't see any middle aged white men. All I could see was Charlie. -
If anyone has a decent stream, we’d appreciate. Paid for a months audio for Tuesday (Gills) and paid £10 for video of Norwich so we can watch from Cyprus. Neither are working.

Ori absolutely bossed it for Barca in the US mock up El Clasico. only a friendly, granted, but just how bad a transfer this was by us is being painfully highlighted.
-
If Charlly does in fact stay... My god. He will rip that league a new hole.
-
I've only just seen that goal from yesterday... Strewth. His positioning has been consistently bad, but that was taking things to an entirely new level.

KWP really damaged his chances of a big move last season, for me. He was shocking at times, specifically towards the end of the season. I'd be amazed if any of the bigger prem clubs came in for him on the back of that. He'll get a move to Fulham or the like.
-
As much as I picked fault in Bazunu last year, I think we'll see him in a very different light this year (should he stay). A year or two at this level will do him the world of good.

FFFFFFFFS.

Fair argument to suggest we showed more patience with Jones than most would, for me.

This thread has been over this numerous times, David. In fact, our defence was statistically quite sound compared to our league position. For chances given, we were in the realm of Spurs and Villa, suggesting we weren't allowing teams chance after chance too often. Yet, still... Bazunu was statistically the single worst keeper of any European top flight, by a long, long, long margin. A keeper can only be as good as his defence, but the keeper still needs basic ability to stop the chances that do come their way. This is where Baz fell down and why it felt like every shot on goal we faced, wound up in the net. Do not get me wrong, Baz will make it into a top flight keeper (quite possibly a very good one), but he was thrown in years ahead of when he should've been. That's on us, not him.

First ST for me since 2013/14, but with all the kids now wanting in I'm in the library. Loved our time in the Football League and can't wait to get back at it. Looking forward to planning a good few away days, as now have the benefit of family being well situated near Manchester and Durham, making the strenuous away days a bit more bearable.

Rancid chap. A sincere good luck to whoever is unfortunate enough to wind up paying his wages. -

Very harsh. Adams is a mighty useful player when used correctly and was a major part in Ings success here. Our issue with Che, is we have insisted on using him as a lone forward, which he very obviously cannot do. His all-round game is excellent though and his services will be well sought after. Numerous moves were turned down prior to this season, so very much expect him to be playing Premier League next season, and showing what he can do when played to his strengths. Square peg, round hole. Our own fault.

I didn't leave my thoughts immediately, but having had a few days to stew on Saturday's "efforts", I don't feel any better now than I did at the final whistle. That display epitomised our season. Complete and utter lack of any fight and finishing the match with five of our consistently worst players on the field. We're in deep trouble. Can't feasibly see how we can patch this together to make any sort of fight for next season. Genuinely fear for how bad things might get.
