The Sunday Times - Southampton put up for sale at £250m
HarvSFC replied to The Odd Guy's topic in The Saints
I agree with Lighthouse. It's why I don't count the 2008 FA Cup when the semi-final teams were Championship West Brom, Barnsley, Cardiff and some Premier League club I can't remember. Voided the competition. -

Hopefully they don't have the same impact as Swansea, Sunderland, or Aston Villa's former American-based owners. -
Best Performance by an Otherwise Incompetent* Player

Shane Long in the 6-1 win against Villa. Set up two of Mane's goals, scored two, including the best goal of the day. He'll never hit a better ball. -
Standard footballer interview really.

Worst Performance by an Otherwise Competent Player

Graziano Pelle was another one who became a sub-standard player during the winter months and then a scoring revelation in the summer. -
Maarten Stekelenburg, 2010 World Cup runner-up, former Ajax player of the year on two occasions, £11m total career cost by Roma and Fulham... Made us hope for the return of Fraser Forster (Although prior to his big decline) at 33. Fortunately, only on loan.

Coventry play away every week (when the football's on) too.

Leon Best against Derby in the play-offs.

We had a match postponed while in League One against Huddersfield at St Mary's, but it was generally thought that it was for other reasons, as stated we have undersoil heating and had played matches in worse conditions prior. We then beat them 5-0 in March, so worked.

Did a load for the Grenfell Tower survivors as well a few years back.

Oh. Ignore that then.

Interesting. It would be good to see a player Ralph sees as key commit to the club given the lack of resources, current speculation over the ownership and seemingly lack of any vision, despite my reservations still of him as a player. But, then we did get spoiled with Schnedierin and Wanyama for a couple of years. On Saturday after the Newcastle match he made a point of pumping the badge numerous times on his walk around to the fans. I know we've seen it from Lallana etc before, but I did find it a bit odd given the news about his agent change and the stories that were circulating regarding his future.

Yeah, Alderweireld and Ben Mee from this season strike out as the clear handballs against us, nothing given. Just depends who the ref/VAR person on the day is.

Pretty similar to Boufal's on the weekend, wasn't it?

The legendary Saphir Taider is at Montreal Impact as well. You might finally get to see him play, six years later.

West Ham's two scorers cost £67m in total according to Wiki. Their fans are protesting pre-match against their owners. Must be difficult.

Did Barcelona sign the wrong forward from Leganes?

What about the foul on Armstrong as he played the ball?

Stephens, Ward-Prowse and Ings are forming a very good spine. Possibly, or most certainly our most important players on current form. Long may it continue.

Looking at Adams' scoring record, prior to last season his highest scoring total in the Championship was 7 goals in 40 appearances. Shane Long once scored 21 goals in 44 appearances in the Championship in 2010-11 with Reading, but has only managed to hit double figures once in the league since then, which was with us in 2015-16 when he scored 10. Hopefully Adams doesn't go down the same path with last season just being an anomaly/purple patch season.

The Palace players got in the refs ear right from the first whistle, similar to United in the League Cup final and you could see after about 20 minutes of it, it had a massive impact on his decision making. He was giving them very weak fouls, etc. Also, funny how Bertrand got booked the other day for taking his time on a throw-in, but nothing was given to Palace players. The ref also needed to be stronger against their dissent like the referee who sent off Zaha last season. Milovojevic was lucky.

See we're back above Bournemouth and one of the supposed best manager's in the league. Does that mean the south coast is ours again, following their chants earlier in the season?

Is it wrong to really enjoy Jack Stephens’ recent performances?
