  1. No chance, never really shown any footballing ability, barring a brief purple patch in 2017-18 where he scored 13 in all comps through being in the right place at the right time. More interested in the Celebrity lifestyle and social media followings of being a footballer (like Dele Alli) and didn't really turn too many heads in his Championship loans when he was coming through. Would've been discarded a long time ago by United if he didn't come through the academy.
  2. We've branched out to bring in a few foreign players into the academy set-up too, Valery, Jankewitz, Rus and Rodriguez being the most notable. Our transfer model seems to be moving away from the domestic leagues also, where a standard Championship player costs £15m+ now. We will need quite a rethink with these rules, I reckon. Ings and JWP will be more valuable than they already are, however.
  3. Reed wouldn’t get into our first team given the form of Romeu and JWP. Would be competing with Diallo for the bench place, when he would be guaranteed first team football at Fulham after last year’s loan. We did get a fair amount of money for him too.
  4. They bench him and then look above competent against one of the better teams in the division. How the mighty have fallen.
  5. Can Ralph start campaigning for 0 subs?
  6. Played well for 60 minutes, no passengers in the eleven, everyone knew their job and were doing it. But, then capitulation and we could not get the ball out of our own half.
  7. Klopp in his post-match interview stated that he wants five subs to help protect players, using Robertson as his example. He said that he would have brought Tsimikas on to replace him, a 24-year-old full Greek international, who was signed from Olympiakos for £12m in the summer. Now, if we went with the same position and wanted to give Bertrand a rest at the end of the game, we would turn to a 20-year-old with one professional game to his record, or play a player out of position. You can see the advantage...
  8. Redknapp the obvious choice. Karl Robinson sticks in the memory for being an annoying little twerp when at MK Dons. Gus Poyet, Mauricio Taricco and the Brighton theatrical act from the same time period also. The fans cracked Ian Holloway when at Blackpool also. Wonder if he, or the club are still laughing.
  9. "You won’t hear him boasting about his star-studded contacts book inside the Southampton dressing room, however. The Athletic is aware of some former Southampton players bragging about having shared a pitch with global superstars at previous clubs" Who this? Romeu would make a good captain, going from the information provided, good to have him around the club as well as him now bringing quality to the first eleven.
  10. That's the problem with being a good team again, our opponents will adapt to cancel out our strengths, rather than playing an open game. Newcastle tried it, but Wolves are a much better drilled team. Feel we could have done more if we did have Ings. Walcott had a few more chances alongside the one on one miss. Adams is really coming into his own though. Both him and Vestergaard can pull off ridiculous passes from deep positions. Another good match from McCarthy also.
  11. Two of their substitutes yesterday were in the 89th minute. Very negligent from Mr. Klopp.
  12. ITK?
  13. Kevin Danso
  14. Yeah, Leicester were the only team to acquire more points than us from January 2016 to May 2016. We won 12 of our last 18 games, three defeats and three draws.
  15. The scrapped Leeds one was a classic.
  16. Top player. Left-back has been one of our strongest positions since he joined, which is a plus considering what has been put on the other side of the pitch between the Clyne and now KWP years. Undervalued by many because he doesn't run around with a smile on his face. Will be a big miss when he does eventually leave and will need replacing. At least the myth of replacing him with Targett, McQueen, or Vokins is now gone.
  17. Errrrr....
  18. Thought his days were done here and that he would see out his contract and that would be that. But, he has been excellent this season, much like the rest of the starting eleven. The defensive midfield version of Steve Davis/Stuart Armstrong in that they fit the role they're being asked perfectly and they consistently put in performances. Maybe not the headlining performances, but you would notice when they are not in the team. He's also pulled off a couple of very good shots this season from the middle, which we have been missing. Obviously the volley he pulled off against West Brom and I think he forced Pickford into a good save right before our first goal against Everton. Diallo's going to find it hard to get into this team, barring injuries and suspensions, which is what we want.
  19. Very good interview, thank you for sharing. Admits his mistake with the high line at the beginning of the season, another sign that he's the real deal as a lot of managers would have tried to be stubborn with the tactic, rather than dropping it immediately. A few digs at Hojbjerg and confirmation that we are trying to extend Ings' contract, as that has gone quiet for a while, alongside Bertrand. Also confirms at the end that he is happy here, due to the amount of power he has here, which he is not likely to get at a bigger club than us. His working relationship with Semmens is also strong, so hopefully a core remains at the top when the eventual takeover does happen. Like Poch and Cortese. One final thing, do Sunderland get pelted with losing 8-0 to us in 2014 in every sentence they are mentioned in?
  20. It sure is strange how the Football League clubs, who are also playing Saturday-Tuesday/Wednesday-Saturday most weeks are not crying for five substitutes. It’s almost as if the rule would massively benefit the big clubs and the big clubs manager’s who are crying for it!
  21. Man City made just one substitution in yesterday’s game, while Liverpool made the two, one being forced by the injury to TAA. Calling for five substitutions because three isn’t enough when not even using all three to manage their squads appropriately.
  22. Southampton have only played the weak teams, like Aston Villa...
  23. Yep, pulled off great saves to help win us the three points in both of the last two matches.
  24. Manchester United already did this with Pogba. They got the one who played for Partick Thistle and Crewe, while the one who played for Juventus retired.
  25. A good summary of the Salisu situation.
