  1. Depends what they are offering really. I wouldn't be sup prised if there still is a deal in the works for a true CB to partner Fonte and this move was part of the plan (giving him a 1st team run to impress anyone watching). He's been good (a lot better than some of his outings last season) but I'm still petrified any time a ball comes at him in the air.
  2. He was stabbed in the legs in his home in Kempston.... So playing for Wooton was supposed to be for fitness but nothing has come of it since. Im proposing Curtis Davis from the sinking ship that is Birmingham City
  3. Bendtner.... Ebanks-Blake has prem exp probably a better choice there
  4. oops wrong thread there...
  5. Bendtner.... Ebanks-Blake has prem exp probably a better choice there
  6. I am sad he is gone like most people, it is always a shame to loose a young prospect for the team (as team building is good when it goes well), but you can't hold a grudge towards him for how it has happened. He's been poorly advised but since the speculation started in January (with his dad doing too much silly talking) but for the rest of last season (when not injured) he has played like one of the team and like an adult (unlike Puncheon who's the best example of how not to say you want to leave to a new club). He didn't kick up a fuss in public when we have stuck to our guns on the price and hasn't said a single bad thing about the club, so as fans we can only smile at the contribution he made to the club and I wish him all the best at Arsenal. Plus 12-15m means only one thing, MONEY FIGHT!!! As it is such an over the top price for such a young kid.
  7. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/league_cup/14368454.stm BBC's preview lists chambo as not risked for injury... Oh and Jaidi out with a knee problem
  8. Hand of Arsenal cleanly bitten off here! Would have loved to see him develop here but 12m is 12m can't argue with such an over the top price as that. Think Wenger has had a slight moment when a young black kid turns up when he'll shout "I WANTED THE WHITE GUY THAT EVERYONE SAID MADE MESSI LOOK ****" mad old man that he is...
  9. Amazing opener to the season! The pen was never one, from my seat it looked like a Leeds player handled it... Martin was really really good, felt a lot better with him next to Fonte than Seaborn. The goals were class and I can't wait for the rest of the season now!
  10. To be honest he had a man of the match performance from my view, he looked miles better than Seaborn could ever do and defended where Jaidi would have been done for pace. He made the right decisions when called upon and communicated with the rest of the back line when needed too, a really mature performance from someone so young. Granted he made a few little mistakes and wasn't perfect but I could not have been more pleased with his performance for the start of the npc! It really cast doubt wether we actually need another CB, granted Leeds looked TERRIBLE going forward most of the time but when they did string it together Martin was there, which really made my day. Hope he keeps starting and impressing more so like he impressed me last season in a similar position, but overlooked by Adkins on the training ground...
  11. Jessy Fusu played last week against Kettering, played the first half and was the teams whipping boy, every cry was "JESSY GO HERE" Seemed alright, pretty much the fake do Prado
  12. Isn't he supposed to be on something like 80k a week and wouldn't take a pay cut... Hardly think its not unreasonable to get rid of him at that sort of wages to get say 2 or even 3 players (strikers) in the squad to strengthen the team properly...
  13. When did that happen?!?!?! SIGN HIM UP!!!!
  14. Mills was all right at the start but one Kettering got what was going on he lost it a bit. Number 4 was quality, a really good anchor man in front of the defence. The 2 cb's were all right both strong but sort of down on overall skill... But the no 11 kid was really good! Last odd one, felt so sorry for the no 10 guy as he was the whipping boy of the team, he didnt seem to have a defined role in the midfield so got shouted out when some thought he should be forward and some thought he should drop back and he didnt decide (fake do prado without being good) Still a fun day out
  15. Looks like we wanted a punch replacement and ended up with the Dutch Lallana! Hope he turns out to be as decent as youtube makes him look
  16. I liked Guly at 11, that picture of him holding up the "Guly 11" shirt when he first came in on loan was really cool, 10 is close enough though... AOC at 11 is a good sign though for him to stay
  17. Wasn't it Do Prado that was offside against Charlton that turned out to be horribly wrong? N'guessan was alright against Walsall, had a goal disallowed for offside that well was off side for being good and not offside, but as a player he would need some time to develop and not do a punch (aka turn up knowing he's for the bench for a while)
  18. Forgot it's seeded and north/south Northampton, Stevenage or Wimbledon it is! (Oxford would be fun but dull to get too for me)
  19. A real football manager signing, FM rates him so he could get ok? If he's a free and wants to be at the club he'd be welcome and clearly benefit the learning experience with Lambert and Connolly...
  20. Well Owen has another year at united sorted... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13594839.stm
  21. Urm what? It'd be ironic if I had said he'd been uppity because he is black... That's how irony tends to work there as my point was he was being uppity and that doesnt tend to sit well with fan's when the player is not performing. The race issue has been imposed by other posters for no reason other than ultimately they enjoy looking for racist overtones for what ever nonsense reasons. Puncheon is leaving because he is an idiot and has not respected the authority of those who run the club. Nothing to do with race there...
  22. A million to get him out of Olympiakos could well go down as one of the best signings we could make. From what I understand he'd basically be a better Barnard, just really needed a decent run out in the Brum squad which never happened thanks to only playing one striker most the season.
  23. Because its largely irrelevant with regards to Punch. He's been criticized because of his very very poor form, followed by a falling out with the management and him playing "Barry big balls" which does not sit well with most football fans, as we are contributing to his wages. The racist undertones DPS has brought up realistically have only been voiced by him with no actual evidence. There is conjecture that in theory fan's jumping on the back of a player can be provoked by the colour of skin, but the only relevant experience I have seen of this has been towards Guly during his "settling in" period with fans blaming him very wrongly for the first half performance against Huddersfield at home. Racism is only in the eye of the beholder and the attitude towards Punch has had nothing to do with it which has made this thread quite absurd. The sooner he's sold the better so we can continue to develop a team that accepts this is how the team is run and has nothing to do with silly personalities.
