So cool seeing Lambert in an England shirt, first time I will watch an England game and care in years.

Will gladly fill this out again after the fun of last seasons one. Q1: What were your opinions of your first season back in the Premier League? Good fun, heart wrenching, frustrating and a reminder of what really competitive football is all about. A lot of our problems last year were of our own making but we seemed to take control of them much more decisively as the season went on (preventing all sorts of messes which was nice). Q2: What are your expectations for the upcoming season? Little bit of progression, challenge for the best of the rest sort of area, good cup run and get a few more of the academy players into the first team. We have a good squad with a lot to show in a demanding and tight league. Having our new manager for the whole season should also be a massive boost really and I hope he provides that edge that can take us forward. Q3: What are you expecting from West Brom this season? More resilient (especially with a fully fit Foster in goal) but less goals (Lukaku was amazing for you last year and I think you'll miss him), which will leave you in a similar place as last year which as a minimum expectation is a good thing. Q4: Happy with the clubs transfer business so far? Really pleased, Wanyama I am expecting a lot from (for good reason) and I think Loveren should also be a marked improvement from Fonte/Hooiveld last season. A new striker would be the only other key signing but the way things are looking I am just happy to have sorted out a CB and a 3rd DM really. Shaw signing a long term contract along with a few other kids signing up longer term and pushing into the first team is as important as new signings these days which is a good thing for the club. Q5: What other positions need adding to before the close of the transfer window? One more striker would be ideal and a winger would be a nice luxury (as would an alright LB who can become 2nd choice in a few months), but really just a striker, don't see much point in getting loads of people in for only a few games as our current squad looks good. Q6: Favourite memories of games against West Brom? Pass... Actually the friendlyness of the away game last season, along with the food around the ground. (not many good live memories of west brom for me) Q7: Worst memories of games against West Brom? Being completely torn apart last season at home, our most abject display at home that season really and every west brom player really just seemed on it. Q8: The previous game between the sides finished 0-3. What were your opinions on this game? As above really, everyone had a much better day at the office than our players and it was hard to watch (as a saints fan, as a fan of football it was good in the sense of a schooling of how to break our game plan properly). Q9: And finally, score predictions No idea, heart wants a 3-1 win for us, head says probably a 2-2 draw

Was France u21's captain and is absolutely quality, I severally doubt we could pull that one off...

Lads, this is the best thing on the internet.

09/10 away kit here (long sleeve to make it that bit more special) Booked my trains a few weeks ago because its a tenner from Milton Keynes and not a lot to get there in the first place... The train line has a lot of good deals for this sort of thing.

JWP is a really good player at 18, this and the next season are going to be the making of him. From what I have seen of him he will make it, passing, vision and general technical ability are amazing for an 18 year old, all he really needs is a bit of strength or Steven Davis style confidence to just plough forward with the ball... Realistically we have left the door open form him with the academy progression stuff and I really hope he takes it over the next two years as he should be able to make a positive impact.

If we were going to sign Rhodes we would have done it last year when he was a sensible price, blowing all that cash on this season is down right retarded, buying Steven Fletcher for £14m retarded. He's not an upgrade on any of our players and isn't screaming I'll be better than Rodriguez in the future so it's such a non starter. Can tell the premier league should start soon as we're all getting itchy feet and moody

Have you ever taken a bird or your Missus or both to watch Saints?

Took a girl to QPR away last season, only because the game was so important, should have left her at home and gone on my own, would have sped up getting shot of her. Good game though! -
Who is to blame for the Summer of inactivity?
pingwing replied to Unbelievable Jeff's topic in The Saints
I blame the academy giving us all of these up and coming star players trying to challenge for first team football and preventing us just buying in a ready made team every summer... -
Top thread!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! One of the last people who should ever be associated with the club, might as well sign Redknapp back up as director for football...
-
Wasn't good enough for it. Just as Lee, Barnard and a whole host of other players weren't/aren't.
-
He got 33 appearances in the champ season... (which is out of 46 league games about 6 cup games) decent stab at a run in the side from my perspective, even if most of his appearances were subs.

Thought spursweb was called yidarmy on the internetz?

Saints near the bottom for players signed, any cause to panic?
pingwing replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
Do we need loads of signings? Nah Do Sunderland? YES, Di Canio might be a mentalist, but he's right on how overpayed and unprofessional the old squad is up there. Only sensible policy left to him is sell everyone and build a sensible wage structure potentially without relegating them selves. -
Fantasy football will be ruined when Bale is sold! Last year he always got bonus points for still being at spurs
-
Not bad, Chelsea playing twice in the first week makes them good buys (as the 3rd week they wont play for the super cup), I had Anelka but I have a feeling he's crocked already.
-
Clyne was the consistent choice last year, Morg at 5.5m is a bargain in midfield as well. Sadly Lambert is up to 7.5m making him not such an instant choice to buy this time round.
-
36 appearances for us, 3 goals, one of which was away at Cardiff when we had already lost, sums him up really. Wasn't good enough in the champ (pomp at home where he was clean through in the last few mins to put it out for a goal kick for having the touch of a 5 year old anyone?) was embarrassing to see him come on in the premier league and has been sitting about the place about a year to long. Good luck to him hopefully back in Belgium/Netherlands or L1 where he might be able to show off some of that potential.
-
YAY!! Hopefully he's good, though I could have sworn he had brown hair...
-
Depends what they use, something to stop offsides like the one given against us for Rodriguez at home to Newcastle would be nice as that was just the linesman being old and to slow to keep up/watch, same for Newcastle away as well as that screamer was offside... Would love a rugby style review system or even cricket where it just comes up on the massive board (and needs some IPL style charge music) for big tv ref decisions.
-
YAY! So instead of undermining match officials by relegating to L2 after suck a cock up they instead have the power to just say yeah they missed it and he should be BANNED FOR EVER. Hopefully this is the first step to accepting technology can be used to get calls right for things like lazy offside decisions instead of just having unfit refs plodding about like the own the sport. Rabble rabble rabble

Thought he had a massive potential ability rating on FM but in reality was bog average at the moment with a massive price tag a. because of his "potential" and b. because he's very home grown.... Sticking my neck out on this one and saying £9m is too much and Levy at Spurs just wants another ivory back scratcher
