Happens far to regularly, Antonio was a younger Papa Waigo, inconsistent and and get the better of people by just being fast. Worryingly similar to Forte.... (though thankfully he doesn't have a fan club for one good performance in 15 dreadful ones)

Better than Loach who's gotten complacent this season with zero competition. Shame its the week before we go there, not the week after.

Yep, highlights don't show Vaz Te going down at every moment Richardson took the ball off him or beat him to the ball. Should have been sent of for about 9 attempted to get Richardson booked, the worst being about 20 mins into the first half where he goes down because there was nothing else for him to do other than look stupid. Adkins was nice and frank about the pen decision, a flat out nope never was one and I'm ammused the fa don't have a go at him because he talks like an adult instead of crying. Big fat Sam should well be shown up in the run in as his teams seem very very silly, playing for rubbish fouls and not really playing football is not good

We look good enough to dominate the last 15 or so games of the season which is the important bit. Shame we had to drop 2 points to the nasty little scummy team of east london (some kids in the balcony above threw change at me and a mate which didn't seem to interest the stewards much). Davis had some good reaction saves but was terrifying when the ball was in no mans land between the back line and him, never been more scared! Jos was outstanding and saved our bacon when it was needed but we should have been out of sight at half time with Sharp missing 2 clear chances. Connelly is the most useless player to have at the moment, his 10 min cameo really has to be the last as we are wasting our time with him! Why bring on a small and weak player against a team that relies completely on strength is beyond me. Lee has looked like he could stand a better change in that sort of situation from his 45 odd mins of football so far. Cork was frustrating as he looked good except when someone push him off the ball, which was most the time... West Ham deserve nothing but 15 losses from now till the end of the season, they give rugby a bad name. That and Vas Te is the single stupidest signing iv seen, made to look a chump by anyone with the ball near him, could do anything with it and should have been sent of for diving so many times. Conclusion, there are plenty of good games left this season for us to rack up the points and one tonight was a start, just should have been 3 and I hope we don't had ehtat problem again

Man of the match over all was Green by a country mile, without him they would be a mid table champ team. Our man of the match HAS to be Hooiveld, no one at the game could give it to any one else. He kept them from having any real chances and scored the all important equaliser in what was one of his best games for the club. Kelvin made a few good stops but scared me so much with his blind inability to command his area that Maynard should have gotten 2 in the second half from rubbish mistakes (that Jos mopped up). Kelvin out and Jos the Boss Hooiveld captain of the world right now.

Anyone recommend a pub near by the ground before/after the game? Haven't been there before and will probably like a drink after the game to let the tube quieten down a little

Birmingham is always a fun place for a day out! Shame about the game and the home support but it's still a place I like to go (any of the teams at that)

Was having this conversation on the way back from Cardiff, he doesn't close anyone down when they attack on the right, he doesn't look when he does that cross ball hoof, he doesn't overlap and his corners are 1 dimensional (we can't keep hitting it to the back post and just switching how's trying to nod it in). Basically he's no better than Harding, if we mix them together we would have an alright left back

Well for everyone training it up be careful how you are getting up as a train was derailed on the east coast mainline http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-16878118 Virgin have announced delays and an alternative time table for the london to brum ones, so double check in the morning of whats happening (that or the other way is going via Leicester)

A mate always likes to write off players on one appearance (usual joke between us either way as I like to do it with players he's excited about) he said he runs like a headless chicken, worse than de ridder, will be always off side (old papa waigo song again) and wont get anywhere. I thought he looks like he'll be the best player in the league after a few weeks of the team looking up for where he's pointing, running towards and making his own space in the game. I want to stick Guly on with him as I see Lee being on the end of the balls he plays (the ones that half the crowd groan at when no one is on the end). A few weeks and a few games under his belt and we should all see why we appealed the work permit successfully.

Good luck to him, a Barnet fan was telling me about this one a few months ago that he had settled in really well and the chairman had a few very productive meetings with our chairman on how to get him at the club permanently. Model example of how to do business with us by treating all parties as grown adults that can always be reasoned with

David Cameron mentions Saints v Pompey rivalry in the house today.
pingwing replied to CLOTH EARS's topic in The Saints
Thought it would be good to fire off an email to my local MP as she's a tory and point out a few of the ironies of the blokes speech. That and point out why he felt it necessary to save pomp by left Plymouth slide or the list of non-league teams being hammered for a few grand. (Darlington, Kettering, St Albans City and so on) -
Japanese flag ..steward told me pole and flag too big ?
pingwing replied to millbrooktonian's topic in The Saints
Thought the one in his left hand (the right of the picture) was the imperial flag of the rising sun pre ww2 Japan. Probably not appropriate in the modern world -
Punch had a really really good 60 mins, hope he can get fit and do it for 90 with that level of commitment. Had to go to Martin today though, with game time he is coming on very well and really looked assured at the back (just what we needed)
-
Had to ask a West Ham fan about this, apparently there is only Baldock, Pinnoque and Cole are fancied by big fat sam (of which pinnoque is terrible and Cole has knee problems). Nouble is out on loan, Sears is just flat out hated by sam (which is stupid as he looked all right in his prem outings) and Carew likes a few too many lap dances... Annoyingly it looks like they will sort out this striker problem before we go there in a few weeks.
-
No the Forest bloke thankfully! He's a CB, they need 7 to try out the "wall of people" on the line tactic for the run in.... Sharp though would be very good news!
-
He's just so hit and miss that it's fun to watch. Painful counting his bad crosses, even in the Palace match he had 2 or 3 blindingly good one's then 5 or 6 heading for the car park of a ball boy. It's hard not to like his enthusiasm and attitude but it's frustrating to see him play as you know he's not one to look up after a touch and wont always end up in the best place on the pitch when he does. Fun to see if he can get better through hard work though as he is a player we will see it from

It was announced she was taken ill for the Forest game with Adkins making a point of saying fair play to the lad for coming out for the game (as by the sounds of it the club was fine to let him have the time off). Very sad for the guy if she just passed away.

"Pay up Pompey, Pompey pay up" made me smile http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16710949.stm Explains it all, by all assumptions the back log of bad ownership and debt they just can't get rid of makes the winding up a real possibility.

Such a frustrating game to watch, just no reason to play Harding where he was, 3rd game he's been there and you could see within 2 mins how bad it was going to be (even with him on the left Nugent had the complete measure of him). The score line flattered us. I can't see why Adkins hates Butterfield to the extent that Harding (the 5th choice rb behind Richardson, Butters, Cork and Stephens) gets favoured. Leicester have been turned around by Pearson and deserve some credit for making us look terrible, a real master class in how to play hoof. Stick 8 players behind the ball, put the line as high as possible and have 3 pacey strikers to cause havoc with our back line. We couldn't cope, we panicked and played hoof back. At the best of times our hoof is appalling, today we looked like a pub team doing it wrong. Connelly looked useless not being able to jump Mills standing up! Guly can't jump so I don't see why anyone persisted with a tactic that doesn't and no matter how much training we can't develop the players we have to be able to do it (there's no way to make Connelly grow a foot, gain 3 yards of pace or teach Guly how to jump). Someone should have cancelled Homles' contract by now, he can kick a ball well but honestly doesn't look like he could stand a chance in L1, Johnoquick would have been more effective to at least run with the ball... (but still tied for the award of one of the most pointless players at the club). I don't see why people were screaming for Steve, he was let down by service massively (no idea why kelvin didn't punt the ball his way once in a while) but when he did he couldn't deal with anyone putting him under pressure. Just frustrating to watch. Jos was good, really pleased we have him and Kelvin made a few nice saves to keep the score line sensible but no one else really looked all that. Fox annoys me so much now, those "cross field balls" that he's so confident in doing should be beaten out of him with a sock of oranges. Didn't work at pomp, hasn't worked all season, just such a stupid waste of possession, time, money and air. No matter what you can say about any players performance last night, there is no place in our team for this rubbish! Beat that out of him and teach him to pass on the floor down the left or into the middle and we'd have an amazing left back, but with this nonsense of "cross ball magic" he is just creating another problem for the team

That Huseklepp guy maybe? Seems fairly quick and for more or less nothing could maybe just try and look past is past with them...
-
He thinks he's Tevez, except isn't as talented, doesn't earn as much and could never command the type of fee Tevez does. Wonder if he's intelligent enough to eventually realize ultimately the club is the boss of him

Urm 5 point gap? Results expunged west ham loose 6 points and we only loose 1? Unless you are assuming West Ham loose which would be amazing but steve cotterill will fulfil my one man at home chant of "steve cotterill football genius" (had just see paul wotton had been released on a free and smiled a little)

Most random player name you've had on the back of your shirt?
pingwing replied to Big_Bald_Si's topic in The Saints
Best few iv seen recently were least seasons home kit with Martin and 18 (think it was his number last season) and N'Guessen on the away kit!!! (these two people should own up as soon as possible). Was so tempted to get Guly 10 from when he first signed on loan till someone pointed out that doesn't quite translate right and he started having Do Prado instead -
Clearly playing FM12 wrong
