Exactly. A prime case in point being that Harry Kane was out on loan at L.Orient, Millwall and a totally goalless spell at Norwich before he played for Spurs and banged them in.

15 goals last year for Malaga... previously was at Barcelona... could be good for them... although could easily be another Soldado.

I was talking to my brother earlier today about how in the early 2000's, particularly around when we got to the 2003 cup final year... there was a TV show midweek(I think) in the evenings that was a purely Saints FC focused (although probably a regional show was done for each club as it was ITV/Meridian) round up of the weeks news with the club etc, and we were both pretty sure it was called, "The Club". However, in the need to satisfy this newly found nostalgia I naturally tried a google/YouTube search... but I found literally nothing! This is probably due to the fact I either got the name of the show wrong, in which case I was just barking up the wrong tree... or I got the name right but as we think it was just called "The Club" a google search of "The Club Southampton FC" produced far too many results! So now this is my last resort in hoping that someone else here has some memory of this show too so I know I wasn't just going insane! And even better if there's a YouTube link or anything... (Typed on my phone so apologies for poor formatting/grammar/spelling encountered)

£12mil? Deal. Would take what we paid for him at this rate.

This. CAM is where we need an improvement.

What a refreshing memory...

Another video.... god they do love to annoy the precious fans and drag it out

I remember in my teens (early 00's) that shirts used to last two seasons. Them was the days... then if memory serves, Villa did a one year kit cycle with Nike which I thought was odd and then everyone else followed suit whilst we were in the Championship.

One thing that I noticed is how a clubs size, stature or league performance doesn't correlate with the highest paid director salary... Chelsea's highest paid director was only on circa £140kpa whilst Ralph comes in at £440kpa. Of course United pay £2mil to Woodward but then even Bournemouth pay £1mil!

Worth a little read to the people that get aroused over financial reports: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jun/01/premier-league-finances-club-by-club The whole Premier League from the 15-16 season is outlined there, but I've copied the part specifically about Saints below, not necessarily any new or shocking information here, but the overall report is interesting to add some context of where we are with regards to wage expenditure: Southampton: Accounts for the year to June 30 2016 Turnover £124m (10th highest in the league) Wages £85m (Joint 8th highest, 69% of turnover) Profit before tax £6m (down from £15m in 2015) Ownership Owned by Katharina Liebherr, resident in Switzerland. Matchday £19m Premier League and broadcasting £90m Commercial activities £12m Other income £3m Net debt Not stated, total bank, owner and other loans: £63m Interest payable £6m Highest-paid director Unnamed: £445,000 (Ralph Kreuger is the chairman) State they’re in Reports of crises at Southampton have been frequent since the owner, Katharina Liebherr, inherited the club among the other major business interests of her late father, Markus, in 2010, but she has confounded them with stable stewardship. Another exodus of star players in the summer of 2015 – Nathaniel Clyne sold to Liverpool for £12.5m, Morgan Schneiderlin bought by Manchester United for £25m – was matched by shrewd signings showing a profit of £29m. Southampton reacted calmly to Ronald Koeman’s departure as they did when Mauricio Pochettino left in 2014, and finished eighth under Claude Puel this time. Liebherr still has £31m in loans to the club at 5% interest; another loan of £15m was repaid.

would like an away up there, so far more happy for them to be in the league than Reading, noddy club.
-
If they're both the real deal. I'd get both shirts for the first time in ages.
-
Spalletti quit he didn't get sacked. But yeah, also going to Inter anyway so moot point.
-
Heh, remember last summer and we turned down Pellengrini and took Puel instead. Ahhhh memories.

Two of our players in the worst 20 in the league

Both aren't surprising. I'd say Long is more down to the change in tactics from Koeman to Puel. Forster however, has a job to save shots. He failed massively at that job this season just gone and I hope the club have paid attention to not just him but also the GK coach who isn't doing much to address this. -
I mean technically they have their logo on there twice (3 times if you include the mini badge The9 included in the bottom left) so you could argue more exposure!
-
Spurs using the England kit whilst playing at Wembley seems only fitting. Whatever is announced by UA, let's be glad we don't have Nike as our manufacturer, they must be THE laziest one out there, every shirt is a plain shirt with contrasting shoulders/sleeves.

So I guess karma is repaying us for all those years with Le Tiss, Beattie and Lambert... -

One off for charity. Virgin donated the match sponsorship to them. There's a link somewhere but I'm on my mobile though so you'll have to take my word or google it! -
Without a job lined up? "Seeking new opportunities" in that context just means he was sacked right?
-
Saw someone take out a digital camera to take a photo of Sane celebrating his goal in the saints end. I mean, who still uses a digital camera?!
-
It was Cedric that should have won that. Didn't jump at all.

Those subs are confusing. Let's see how it goes I guess.
