To be fair, and this might not be the popular view here... our ministers arent actually salaried that much! I was surprised to learn the PM is only on circa £80k per anum. I wouldn't do the job for that much! Personally, i'd rather see investment bankers in every country have bonuses and salaries cut and the profits/saved wages from banksused to help fill the deficit that arose from a mess they helped create. Them and Carlos Tevez.

The official unofficial January transfer targets thread..
lloydie replied to SB's topic in The Saints
Perfect signing for me in this position would be Fraser Forster (At Celtic, on loan from Newcastle) great height, great ability, young too with potential to play even better than he currently is... which i would dare to say is better than Davis at present (definately based on the last old firm game) i'm sure newcastle wouldnt be too sorry to see him go when they have Tim Krul on their books and harper ahead of him! If not now(obviously he's still at Celtic) then i'd get him when we go up, as Kelvin will surely only have a couple more years at the top level in him, unless he really pulls something outta the bag, which he's more than capable of!! -
Didn't Everton do it a while ago?

They're not in a spanish speaking country though. I like to call my close mates ****s all the time, however if i started calling my colleagues and clients the same i'd be sacked in a minute!

I'm going to come in here and defend Bridge here too, and not just because he's ex saints either. Reallistically he's on £90,000 per week at city and i'm sure he wouldn't mind playing a bit more football, but the only clubs that could take him on with those wages are clubs that are now above his playing level in both ability/fitness (your man uniteds, milans and other top, top clubs come into this category) whilst on the other hand the clubs that are interested in having him as a 1st choice LB, etc, and ones that i'm sure he actually would want to play for, particulary Celtic that came in for him as said before, can't afford those £90k wages at best you'd be looking at a small fraction of that these clubs would either be able to or willing to pay him... circa £30k. Now when a club like this comes in, and says that they want wayne and that he'll get some playing time i'm sure bridge would be thrilled and interested... but to have your wages slashed by more than half to be fair is a big adjustment, and that probably is just a bridge too far (pun intended) unless City were willing perhaps to pay the remaining portion of his wages that he'd otherwise be losing. As someone suggested earlier I believe Arsenal sound like a great shout for at least january to the end of the season to get some good playing time due to not having any fit left backs, and they could potentially pay those wages too! Only thought i'd have going forward is for clubs to group together and start only offering a lower basic wage, ie £10k maximum basic per week with the majority of money coming from appearance fees so in this instance Bridge would only be getting £10K out of his possible £90k through not playing.... im sure he would have moved on or upped his performances 2 years ago! (and tevez wouldnt be such a cockey lil ***t either!!)

Saints V Blackpool Match Thread and Reaction
lloydie replied to SOTONS EAST SIDE's topic in The Saints
Id rather our youth keeper play next game if Davis is still injured. To play this badly *isn't* acceptable, hasnt really moved for a single effort this game and cant even deal with tame efforts at him. Used to have a little faith in him, have got zero now and hope this is his last game for our club. -
True, and in reply to the orginal quote, it'll be ALOT longer than 6 months before you see really cheap prices, (althought there are definately some good deals to be had if you look hard enough!!)and even longer till you dont need the glasses, you'd likely be looking at years. Definately not months. However when you consider the 1st 26" HD ready tv's were circa £1000, for 40" 3D tv's going for between £1000-£2500 it isn't that bad a price in comparison!
-
Yes it can, (or it will be able to rather, including the original launch versions ones to the newest PS3's) obviously you need the 3D TV and glasses too of course. It can already do some 3D gaming. But much like the launch of HD in the 00's, it'll be a while till theres a variety of content to watch on it.

look into the sony NEX3 and NEX5 cameras, exactly what you want... interchangeable lenses, easy to use, good quality and they are marketed more as an inbetween DSLR/compact-family camera.

Woop! Not that I live in the USA, or even have an Iphone* lol!! (*yet, pending upgrade.)

Very true, this should be faxed by the football league or something to any other prospective/wannabe football club owners/chairmen!! Cortese needs to shape up fast... and not in "a re-arrange the deck chairs on the titanic" way either... 'cos im getting that sinking feeling!! :/
-
Massive thanks Alan, for all that you achieved at our club, thanks for the day out at wembley too. Shame it ended this soon. All the best for the future.

Maybe we could do something as a tribute for next home game?
lloydie replied to St Marco's topic in The Saints
I hope so too, wish I could make the game, will hopefully get down when I can to sign the book of condolences. Would love to make it to the orient game though, and I would implore anyone that can to make it down there and just get behind the team for the whole game, before, during and afterwards, no matter what the result on the day is! -
R.I.P. Markus Liebherr, our club owes you a great debt!
-
can it be our kit forever?!
-
Its a shame what money/greed can do, to be fair if i was earning that magic £600k id be happy to have around £100-200k maybe more, of it taken back in tax, provided everyone else in a similar position did the same as ultimately I'd still think the remaining £400k pa is hardly a to be sniffed at imo. Just wish there would be some understanding between the rich and the poor and maybe some humility would factor in to their souls, as things would be alot better of in our country and we'd all live happily ever after.... Oh well back to pills!

Sash's will be good for me!!
