He is known to have an off day every now and then (and when he does it really is a stinker!) but still rate him As twice the player fonte is. In conclusion: yes i'd have richard dunne if he would come. -
Thing is with regards to Adkins future, I understand why if we weren't doing well enough, that NC might act on adkins future with us. But, i honestly cant think of one manager, given the way nicola wants the 'southampton way' to be approached, that would suit the job role AND is realistic?

Christ on a bike the past week or so has been boring with regards to any inbound saints transfer activity! -
I thought Clyne was excellent today, very pleased with what he will offer us this coming season. JWP looked very clever in midfield too, played a few really nice passes and he covered a lot of ground too (but not in the same way as a headless chicken can, it had purpose.) i was a little dissapointed with jay rod, thought his touch was pretty rusty but a bit more game time an im sure he'll sharpen up! (good finish in the first half too, but thought he should have checked the line better first, he probably would still have got there!) Typed this on my phone so apologies for god awfull layout!

Snodgrass has signed for norwich according to sky, scratch him off the list... Would have been a great addition IMO. -
Extended highlights of Etoile Carouge 1 Southampton 4

Was I the only one that watched all of it to help me get my football fix?! On a more serious note, a lot of positives to take from that... I know its a crappy team and its only pre season but the kids involved looked sharp, shaws goal was nice! Seaborne looked good also. Didnt realise puncheon played, he should have scored really, but interesting to see him involved so if we cant nail on a RW/RM player I suppose he could fill that slot. Although having Lens there would be 100x better! -
Hi tommy.
-
I turned up at 4:10pm left at 4:20pm with the shirt. Easy peasy.

Reading are better equipped for the Premier League than Southampton

Really? With O'neil in charge thats a brave choice! (granted they were on an awful run of form as soon as they were safe!) I think Norwich will go down (something isnt right at that club re: holt, lambert etc) Add to that list Villa who were dross last season and even with lanbert in charge now i still think their midfield has little or no bite to it and is worse than purs without petrov playing. I'd also say, for the final space that it will be close between us(if we dont sign anyone else, but we probably will) west brom, reading fulham and wigan. -
Good point, who cares?!
-
Cheers for the heads up! Was totally oblivious that we had a new kit out!
-
I think the kit looks good, a lot of 'bed wetting' reactions on here as expected. 1.We havent always been red and white stripes for starters (imagine what the uproar was like then when we introduced them without the internets?!) 2. Theres still white stripes on the red kits, therefore its still red and white stripes, just smaller for christ sake.(remember guys, size doesnt matter its what you do with it, or what rickie does while playing in it, that matters!) 3.to the reaction 'its not a saints kit' well seeing as its just been announced as sfc's new kit, kinda invalidates that response. 4. to the reaction of, 'we look like liverpool' id rather have just that one club (or forest) than people come up to me in london asking me if im a stoke, sunderland or even more frequently an exeter fan! Oh and 5... If we do well in it, and get a cup run etc, id imagine a lot of people will change their tune.

Zzzzzzzz.... The irony you finding something boring is well, very ironic. If you find it boring just glance over the thread, find it boring, and then ignore it. Half the crap on here i dont care about, so i briefly look at it then go on to something that is more interesting to read. (porn, probably) Anyway I digress, apart from you piping up to let people know you dont find a topic interesting, you also raise a point about jay rod not agreeing personal terms, ie: wages? Then say this is hopefully a cover for the REAL transfer activity? ...Those two points just dont add up. Youre suggesting that in your 2nd point jay rodriguez isnt good enough for us... Whilst before that stating you think his wages will be an issue?! What player will with that logic be good enough for us, whilst having in your eyes reasonable terms in their contract?! (david connolly is going on a free i guess?)
-
Two issues here, 1:what players did he leave out that are of equal to the german players mentioned. Please god dont tell me carrick is being compared to schweinsteiger!? I am dissapointed micah richards was left out though. He had a very good season. 2: again, please dear god, really?! I know barry milner etc arent inspiring world beaters, but they are twice the players tht morgan cork and hammond are!! Other than those two points ill just attribute to mental illness, i agree with you it wasnt a particulary great spectacle to watch but what else can be expected for a pre tournament friendly?
