Don't think this has been posted, but TB held a fans conference meeting yesterday morning, these are the notes from it Update from Trevor Birch Is talking to three interested parties, all of which he deems to have serious intent. All of them have a foreign element involved. None of them are near to making a bid at the current time, though all all currently going through a due diligence process, and have signed NDAs. The three parties are separate from the Trust initiative as well as the consortium currently involved with Peter Storrie. Trevor welcomes the Trust Community Shares initiative. He says that an alternative way forward would be as a bolt on to any future owner coming in, which he feels would be the most advantageous solution as well as the most probable. He is working closely with both the Premier League and Football League as regards how the club exits administration. As regards the interested parties, which league we are playing in next season does not seem to be relevant to their interest (probably a good thing after today.....) Trevor does not have a feeling that any particular one is currently favourite or at the fore. The club has to have something in place in the next eight weeks, but he believes that something will happen, not necessarily to completion but more have an identified way forward in place. He states that Chainrai did put money into the club, though there is still a question as to whether his security is valid. Ashley's update regarding the Community Shares initiative. The initiative has been launched to gauge the level if interest and support it would have, as well as understanding the capabilities any initiative would have, alongside flushing out people who would be willing to invest more than the initial figure. Discussions are taking place with two Pompey fans 'of wealth' as regards investing. Discussions are also taking place with 'public bodies around Portsmouth', and it was pointed out that we shouldn't dismiss possible help which Portsmouth City Council could give in the future. It is felt that there is an opportunity to put together a credible bid. The only situation the initiative is competing with is liquidation. It is not a situation where this is being pushed over a potential buyer with a better deal. It is very much a fall back, something which is a possibility if liquidation is likely, a credible alternative to the club disappearing. It was pointed out that the value of Fratton Park is questionable because of the planning restrictions. The business plan has been worked on and, accounting for the fact that a factored in loss would be the reality for Season 1, it is projected that the club would break even in Season 3, 2014/2015, if not Season 2. The club would be run sustainably, 'you get what you can afford'. There is a large amount of business experience on the Trust board, with people of relevant experience also working behind them. The club management team would run the club, not the Trust. As well as club management, the Board would be made up of a small number of people from the local community with the right mix of business skills, plus one or two elected people from the Trust board, as well as fan representatives who have invested. Trevor Birch pointed out that he sees fan involvement as a good way to work alongside other owners, and will be pushing this as a preferable option. The question was asked, how is the club debt covered. Trevor Birch answered that there will be no debt carry over, all money from purchase of the club would go to club creditors. The club is worth what it is worth, what somebody is willing to pay. Ashley pointed out that the Trust would not do a deal which would end up with the Trust/investors being out of pocket. TB added that the Football League would not allow this anyway, and that the parachute payments would still be available also. The question about a 'shared share', for people who could not pay a share themselves outright, was discussed and deemed as possible and welcomed. Discussion about the credit options took place. The Trust have an arrangement with a Credit Union for those who would wish to pay for a share via credit. Whilst figures are still being discussed, a potential example is an APR of 9.4%, with an example package being one where a share is paid for over two years, at £60 per month, but which has a season ticket included in the share. Alongside this, £10 per month of that £60 would go into a savings to be paid out at the end of the two years, which could help pay for a third year of season ticket after the two years received with the share. To stress, this is just a potential example at the moment of what could be arranged. Obviously, with the short timescale, immediate funds are required with further schemes being put in place once the club's future is secure. An idea was also put forward as regards a 'Pompey' stadium lottery. The Trust will contact the Credit Union next week to agree example schemes. Nothing would be agreed until all parties are happy with the agreement. It was pointed out that no more than two season tickets could be agreed going with the Credit Union scheme, to stop people 'taking advantage' of potential cheaper prices. All information and updates would go onto the Community Pompey website and the local press. The £1,000 shares would only be needed if the deal was deemed realistic and could be done. The £100 donations are to gauge interest, and would be refundable bar the 2.5% administration charge if the deal wasn't taken forward. Buying a share would automatically enroll the purchaser in the Trust, to ensure the 'one vote per share'. A share prospectus will be published and will be flexible, so an option will be built in to recommend that money could also be used to, for example, purchase Sacha Gaydamak's land, as well as to be part of any funding of a Plan B if necessary. The Trust will be talking to Portsmouth City Council as regards a cashier facility for people to drop off cash donations for shares. A timescale of end of May/beginning of June is thought realistic to decide whether the full £1,000 shares will be required. If it is found that, within a couple of weeks, share interest is under 1,000, the idea will likely be deemed not viable.
