We were by far the better team today. We gifted them that win with dreadful defending. All too little too late. Get a solid no-nonsense centre back in and a proper centre forward and we smash the Championship next season.
-
That would make the cost of getting up here worth it
-
Largely I agree, when coming into a job with a team struggling the first thing you want to do is make them solid, so I get that. But the lack of urgency from the players in recent games has been a concern and we have to go more gung ho now

Today is 5 years since that Gabbiadini goal And if you're looking for omens we have the same ref from that game I'd say the stars are aligning

Personally I think Rasmus Ankersen and his ego is the problem, not Sport Republic as a whole.

Jose Fonte to return next season (Twitter Rumour)

I'd say history has proven me right on that one. -
Patino scored against us in the FA Cup. Actually that's not exactly saying much

End of season awards night and lap of appreciation
Pamplemousse replied to Paul Chuckle's topic in The Saints
Given how long it takes to get out of the ground if you're near the back of the Northam, I'd probably still be in the stadium when they come round with the lap of honour -
In our relegation six pointer next weekend, there will only be one team trying to score and win, as there will only be one team actually trying to fight.

I've heard it a few times this season, sorry to disappoint you.

Jose Fonte to return next season (Twitter Rumour)
Pamplemousse replied to Esher Saint's topic in The Saints
The guy is a winner and an integral part of our success, as well as winning the Euros with Portugal and Ligue 1. If he returns, even as a coach, it would be an excellent move. -
Forest are fucking shit, Fulham are on the beach, Brighton will bottle Europe against us and Klopp's Liverpool will defensively implode on the last day. We've got survival in the bag.
-
Exactly this. One thing we were so good at under Ralph were the wide players cutting inside, running towards the penalty area and winning a foul that way. Under Selles we just try and pass it around the box until we give it away
-
Utter rubbish. I think the fact we're so reliant on someone head and shoulders above the rest is part of the problem.
-
What does that mean exactly?

Eddie Howe was Newcastle manager before SR took over

Tbh I can see most of our decent young players like Alcaraz and Sulemana staying. Joao Pedro and Sarr stuck around with Watford. Lavia the only one who will go because we'll get decent money for him. Why bother selling Alcaraz or Sulemana for only a little more (or less) than what we paid, knowing they'll be potentially worth big bucks in a couple of years' time.
-
I'm going. I can't wait. Not.
-
This is a shadow of Ralph's teams.
-
Yeah, would make relegation a bit easier to accept

Romeo Lavia - Official: Signs for Not Liverpool
Pamplemousse replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
He clearly cares. I'd give him the captain's armband -
Lol behave. We won't go down next season, not a chance. At worst we'll be in midtable but we have enough resources to spend our way out of any trouble (for the Championship). Even Nathan Jones could probably get us at least 12th next season. For a good comparison see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015–16_Aston_Villa_F.C._season (note how far worse they are than we are) and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016–17_Aston_Villa_F.C._season And hopefully we won't be stupid enough to appoint someone like Di Matteo.
-
There are 19 other teams without him who are better than us. We'll cope fine without him. Actually, it might be better, same with Tottenham who are overly reliant on Kane. We should never be so reliant on one person to dig us out of a hole.
-
Forest at home was the worst for sure, mainly because of how terrible they were, and how much worse we were.
