Is there any point to this thread? All it tells us is sfc1971 supposedly knows what occurred between AP & NC/ML but is refusing to share it. The rest is speculation & opinion which has been more than covered by many other threads.

The reason for the terms to describe each other is factually unknown but widely speculated. 'Scummer' is reported to have being born from the term SCUM (Southampton City (or Corporation) Union Men). Apologies Saint_clark but I don't think any rumour in the Mirror is worth starting a thread on. They and the Daily Star have to have the worst record for journalism when it comes to informed rumours about player moves. I can not recall reading a Mirror rumour and it coming to fruitition. That said (and without actuall seeing him play, just reading up on him and his stats), although over the past 2 seasons he's scored 1 in every three games, given he is only 20 he maybe a good shout for the future.

ha ha, mine too - my Mum, Dad, Brother, Stepmum and Aunt are all Sk8s. They call me the black sheep of the family but as far as I'm concerned I am the silver lining of the dark cloud that has blighted my family for a generation. My dad used to try and get me into PFC as a kid by taking me to KrapNottarf but I just used to get enjoyment from seeing them being beaten & seeing Chris Nicol once presented with something on the pitch at PFC prior to a game (can't remember who it was against, either Grimsby or Watford of someone equally insignificant) Although living in Australia now I will ensure that my two lads (currenlty 2 & 4) will ensure their future is red & white.

I have to disagree. I regularly watch the A-League and seeing the J league teams playing in the Asian Champions league against the Australian teams I think their players in general are are some way off the standard required for us as we are looking to push, over the next couple of years, toward the EPL.

Agreed there are point of differences but every new kit will have point of differences. All I am saying is that given the hype I was expecting something more radical for example the Air Florida kit is very different, the centenary kit was very different as was the sash and the hummell but this new kit is just a plain mid sized red and white stipes with the only point of difference being the white sleaves. Infact the design isn't too dissimilar to the 2003/2005 kit except for the collar and instead of red sleeves we have white.

It's nice and it's stripey but I can't say much more about it. I'm underwhelmed and was expecting something a little more different given the hype.
