I'm not so sure about this. Contrary to the 5h1t that comes out of AA's and DL's mouths I think their predicament is worse this time around given that, although the level of debt is less, the percentage of unsecured debt that is owed to HMRC and Baker Tilley apprears to be a lot greater meaning that any potential CVA could well be vetoed. I can not see what purpose trying to delay the hearing will do because the debt to HMRC will simpley increase meaning any prospective buyer has an even greater amount to fund making the club even less sellable than it already is. (We also don't know what penalty fees HMRC are willing to add to their debt). That said 2 years ago I could not see the purpose of keeping them going.

Allegations are one thing but he has been found not guilty by by a jury in a court of law (it fudementally doesn't matter what I or anyone else thinks about the jury's decission). I agree with your sentiments but only if he'd been found guilty, did time then was appointed England manager but given he has been found not guilty there is no premise to discriminate against him for the role. In fact it would p155 in the face of fair play and what is right if he wasn't considered, because previous allegations count for nothig once dismissed by the courts. Would you stop supporting England if Dave Jones ever got the role and did you stop supporting Saints when Bagpuss joined us?
-
There's many people on here who have said they will stop supporting England if Bagpuss gets the job. I personally don't get it. Did these people stop supporting Saints when he defected from Portsmouth? I support Southampton (as my club team) and England (as the national team) and that will never change not matter who is in charge. Yes I get frustrated with England and the have aged me more than my years but England are bigger than one individual. I think we need to get over the fact that Twitch has be found not-guilty, (I am careful to state not-guilty as opposed to innocent because in my book they are different - it just means there wasn't enough evidence to convince the 12 good men & women on the jury and whether that's because he is genuinely innocent of these crimes I just don't know - I've not been close enough to it to know all the details but based on the snippets in the mdeia and in my opinion, just before the verdict was read, I was convinced he was as guilty as Gary Glitter in mothercare with his c**k in his hand, but my opionion has been shown to be wrong by the Bagpuss 12), because as far as the law goes he has not done anything wrong. In fact we should be celebrating him because he was a key player in the demise of PFC - without his over spending and winning the FA Cup (whcih triggered loads of bonuses) we would not have had the 2 years of fun on this thread. I want (and I think, despite what some have written here, nearly all of you, deep down, also want) England to be sucessful and lets face it, taking off our red & white striped tinted glasses, he is probably one of the best managers out there for the England role. One other name comes to mind but he's just signed a contract with Sunderland so we can write that one off. So if the FA appoint Bagpuss I for one will be quietly satisfied that finally we have a manager that who fits all the criteria for the role and will support the team with or without him at the helm, as I did when he came to us.

was nearly a coffee over screen moment, only saved by the fact the missus still hasn't made it yet!

Just to add to the humour of the situation, yes it would be nice to get her again. I think her suspisions of trading while insolvent were well founded and wonder whether 2 years on she'd give them the benefit of the doubt again.
-
Oh tony13579 don't tease us. Adjournment would possibley be the funniest outcome. Delay the WUO just so PFC can rack up more debt making the club even more unsellable! Love it!

I don't get this rhetoric that the club is the soul of the city. If the club was so important to the whole city why don't more pleople watch them week in week out. How much revenue do they bring in to the city? Probably zero once you extract the amount of taxes they withhold from the public purse! On a serious note though the club doesn't actually 'bring' in any extra significant revenue. If there wasn't the club the fan(s) would have extra cash in their pocket and would spend it some other way, more than likely with local businesses. That's right Mr Mclachlan, keep on this path. The more you spout on about them being bankrupt the more the FL have ammunition to deduct you points. Also if the club is bankrupt as Scott Mclachlan mentions, yet still opperates its normal business as they have been doing, I would suggest that indicates trading while insolvent, but then we all know that's been going on for a while.

this ^ I am a royalist but living down under I think I'm in the minority and would be torn as to wether to vote to remove the Queen as head of state for Australia (partly because, although a royalist as far as teh UK is concerned, I ask the question what benefit does she serve for Australia). One thing I will add, IMO a head of state that is born into the role is more likely to serve the country in what they perceive are the country's best interests where as a head of state that has to be voted in may well have personal intrests to becoem head of state and may well serve the country in their own interests. Lets face it, most politicians that have ideas of becoming PM have massive ego's and would hate to have a head of state like that.

It'll be interesting to obtain a list of questions we have posed to him that he has refused to answer (by, as you say, his normal method of diverting attention by mouthing off about us

Not sure but I understand that when they apply for admin they have to go to court to demonstrate that they have a funding source to fund the administartion period and assume this maybe when HMRC could challenge it. COYHMRC!! 12 days left .........

Not a Saints related rumour but posted on TSW on one of its smaller threads - "PFC will get 20m from the sale of the FP and surrounding land"

Firstly for a CVA to be agreed they have to be able to have the business as a going concern whcih (whcih is a krypton factor challenge in itself) or find a buyer (more and more unlikely) but lets say one of the above does happen and a CVA is proposed - the old Co is run by Baker Tilley who were appointed as liquidators at the request of HMRC so if HMRC and Baker Tilley are as 'in bed together' as I think they may be, then agreeing a CVA for anything less that 100% looks less and less likely. Even if BT play a very independant role I still think they'll be as stubborn as HMRC given CVA is repaying pretty much f-all of the original debt. So if no CVA is agreed PFC won't get away with it because all the debts are still 100% due plus they'll have the -30 points (10 fro admin & 20 for exiting without CVA) then if Bagpuus & MadMilan are found guilty it could be more.

not only that, at the very minimum the club is losing 800k per month (the value of the debt to HMRC they couldn't afford to pay for 2 months), so not only paying Chinny off any buyer will also have to fund 4 months of losses totaling 3.2m minimum before they can even think to sell players to cover costs but then there'll be no ticket sale income through the summer months. Chance of a buyer? Never, not ever, nope, no, null, non, nein, nicht, nada

Sorry Corpse, I forgot it's all the FL's fault you skates have cheated your way to the FA Cup and into financial oblivion. Poor old plucky P****y been shafted by the evil FL! Quality over quantity......my ar53! Only 8 players?? How about selling your higher earners and promoting your youth? By selling TBH & 3 or 4 others on larger wages for next to nothing then offering contracts to some of the youth players (even scouring the lower leagues for good potential players), you may not be sitting mid table as you are now but at least you will be living within your means. P****y have had opportunity after opportunity to do this (long before Vlad came in) but decided to gamble leaving the British tax payer and many small businesses out of pocket so don't start playing the victim and sympathy cards. You're not getting any from us!
-
I'm sure I heard from someone on here that PFC would get 20m from selling this land. You seem to be so reliably informed and well connected, can you verify this and also how this would be possible? Also I wonder what would happen with PCC approval for redevelopment if there was no football club.
-
What a load of b011ocks. Many clubs in administration sell their players. We did with Surman, as did Bournemouth with Vokes.

in answer to your thread title "John Terry - thoughts?" My thoughts are he's a c**t. (I will also complete your survey)

Also muscle weighs 3 times as much as fat so many people who use weights actually put on weight. Most important thing about losing weight is calories in v calories out. BTW, my exercise is running at the moment (anything from 2-4 days a week running 2km sprints to 21km jogs). Would love to head back to the UK to run the London Marathon (would like to do it for my 40th in a few years as the marathon is alway a week before my bday), so have been trying to obtain a level of fitness for it and will be entering some half marathons this year. Also indend to get on the bike this year and in the pool to take part in some Triathlons. IMO they are the best event to take part in - a real sense of satisfaction upon completion.

But what security do the football creditors hold? My understanding was that HMRC were challenging the FCR because they (football creditors), as unsecured creditors, get preferential treatment over the other unsecured creditors when all unsecured creditors should be paid in the same way.
-
As far as I understand it Chinny does get preference over the football creditor because they are unsecured creditors (what security do they hold?) but wiht preferecen over all other unsecured creditors. In essence the priority would be Secured Creditors (Chinny) then Unsecurted Creditors (players & other footballing creditors first then the rest i.e. HMRC). As I say this was my understanding of it so am happy to be corrected.

I think you are a bit quick to assume he's going to save them. Although saying he doesn't want to see the club liquidated he was quoted as saying - to me this suggests that although he doesn't want to liquidate the club it's an option for him. It also suggests he doesn't give a t055 about the club and he's only interested in himself, therefore once he's back in the UK and assesses the situation, he may well decide he will get more money from liquidating them than throwing more money into the cesspit.

Ale through and through and even more so since I moved to Australia. Lager, lets face it, has to be drunk ice cold so that what ever taste it had in the first place is completely diminished. (for the sake of mankind please let lager be forever banished!) Australian mainstream beer is quite frankly 5h1te! For those that have had the displeasure of tasting the low-lights of the Australian mainstream beers (VB, XXXX, Carlton Draught, Crown, etc), there is one that tops them off as the ultimate chilled kangaroo's p155 - West End. Unfortunately it's made here in South Australia and is the most drunk beer here. Fortunately though where I live, McLaren Vale, isn't just one of Australia's famous wine regions it's got a growing reputation for Micro Brewery. There are 4 within 4km of my house which is fortunate because English ales cost $7.50 (about 5GBP) per bottle here from the liquor stores. There is also a growing popularity for craft beers with the massive rise of James Squires and Little Creatures As far as fave drinks - UK Fullers - London Pride Green King - Abbott Ale Marston - Pedigree Oz Little Creatures - Rogers Vale Ale

Maybe we should post a link to here - spread the word and truly open their eyes to what has gone on down the road.

Don't worry, only 16 more days beard growth, 16 days left for your dogs to fend for themselves, 16 days of extra laundry & washing up to go and the cricket isn't worth watching anyway....... so hang in there!
