Slight correction to that - Espanyol's record reads: 2007/08 12th 2008/09 10th (January 2009 Pochettino appointed at which point Espanyol were 3rd from bottom) 2009/10 11th 2010/11 8th 2011/12 14th 2012/13 Nov - bottom (Pochettino sacked) 2012/13 January - 14th under new manager It does appear on the face of it that he took them backwards after a couple of relatively successful seasons but unless we know the ins and outs of the club (i.e. did they sell all their top players, who had Espanyol played up to the point he was sacked - was it a tough start like us?, etc.) there's not a lot in the stats to suggest either way whether he'll be a rousing success and NC was justified in his actions or that he'll be a complete failure. One thing for sure is that regardless of what we think about the decision, we all need to pull together and get behind the new manager and the team otherwise it could have a serious detrimental affect

Wtf - completely speechless. Will wait for the dust to settle before passing judgement on this decision, however NC's explanation had better be phenomenally good. Hope NA lands himself a good job.

Ha ha, so did I. Frustrating not to be able to cheer and chant but was worth it to see them in the semi's

Super result, especially from being 2 down!

Nothing to do with transfers at all if you follow the twitter conversations - translates - Poll: which movie to see at the cinema! 1 - Playing for Keeps, 2 - The Company You Keep HELP ME! translates - The Company You Keep I did not liked it so much, second half very slow! Try The Best Offer ... Cute! translates - I guess I'll jump on that Then later he says translates - Change last minute .. I saw "The Best Offer" BEAUTIFUL!! Good night .. From that I guess he wanted to know which film to watch, either Playing for Keeps (Quello che so sull'amore as it is called in Italy) or The Company You Keep (La regola del silenzio as it is called in Italy) and ended up watching 'The Best Offer" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1924396/?ref_=sr_2

Pompey's will be 2 consecutive relegation's (Champ - L1; L1 - L2) - they had 2 seasons in the Championship.......that is unless they get relegated from L2 next season then it'll be 3 but the chances they'll be around to see that are getting slimmer and slimmer. Luton's record is also equal with Wolves in the 80's (Div1 - Div4 in consecutive seasons)

Saw Rivaldo play for Uzbek team Bunyodkor against Adelaide United about 4 years ago. Bearing in mind the A-League standard is probably just below League One, from what I saw he was sh1t3 then, 4 years older he'll be sh1tter now. Perfect fit - 5h1t & over paid

Ah that old classic - of course Pompey has to suffer a muddy cut up pitch where as Crawley were playing on a lush green snooker table

you really have to feel sorry for them when they hold a date in history in such high esteem, just because they didn't lose. It really shows how far they have fallen!

The undeniable proof that man (woman, teddybear and a couple of robotic pets) have been to the moon ......... There's no multiple light sources and you can see the stars in the picture.......close the thread, the conspiracies have been busted!

This in reply to PompeyMart asking for some clarification on the business plan !! Looking forward to his meltdown.... Interesting take from this dumb skate. Mind you if they are that stupid to invest in something without all of the facts then they (the fans, investors and the club) deserve each other.

I can just imagine the bus full of Portsea Islands bestest pulling up out side the High Court - (never grow tired of that pic!)

It makes a nice change to see Pompey fans in the gallery and not in the dock.
-
Correct, consecutive seasons of relegation 84, 85 & 86

and if the HNW individuals pay more then the fans own less meaning this is not so much of a fans trust take over but mroe of a consortium of rich supporters. Fan owned club? my **se!

I seriously don't get their criticism of McLeod. 10 goals in 20 league games is b100dy decent by anyone's standards at any level. He seems to always be singled out but lets face it, without him they'd be further in the mire than they already are.

Wolves did it from Div 1 to Div 4 in consecutive seasons in the 1980's- Relegated from old Div 1 1984 Relegated from old Div 2 1985 Relegated from old Div 3 1986

If YOU could give Nigel Adkins one piece of advice; what would it be

Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum. -
Diasppointed not to win, especially after the first half performance but just happy not to lose. I thought the two full back did well, especially Shaw who looked very comfortable playing. Clyne look good but at times had lost his player only to be able to get back and cover. One criticism I will have is the amount of free kicks the fullbacks gave away. Thought Cork was excellent, tracked back well and always looked to get the ball forward. Towards the end, the couple of crosses he put in were good. Gaston was disapointing on the whole. Although he showed glimpses of class he gave the ball away too much and sometimes tried to be too clever but then again Norwich did always seem to have 2/3 players on him. SRL I thought was excellent. Worked his sock off, hardly gave the ball away, always looking to play people in. Only negative was I think he sometimes tries to play team mates in when he probablby should have had a crack. Saw that a couple of times. Anyone who thinks Holt should play for England needs their head examining. Between the two SRL looked a class above. Holt looked lazy and disinterested. Could be a result of the defensive style Norwich now play with the supply to Holt being cut, though but I'd rather have a player who searches for his and tries to create oppertunites (like SRL) than a player waiting for the oppertunities to come to him (Holt) Big negative for me was the goal and Yoshida. I have serious concerns about Yoshida. He never seems to look all that comfortable and misses the ball/challenges too often form my liking. Also Gazza has now been at fault/part fault for our last 3 goals which is a massive concern. We could be sitting comfortably in mid table had we have a more composed GK. There was nothing he did to suggest to me that he should be in the starting line up. MOTM for me would be between SRL & Shaw.

Love the opening quote - No need to, it's all documented in a 1562 page dossier produced by a number of nutjobs, and he's right some people from the eastern end of the M27 do believe what has been written is fiction.

Most bizaare movements to be honest. Di Matteo wins them the one cup RA has been after, teh most prestigious club cup in Europe (if the the world) and also wins the club the most famous domstic cup in the world. OK they've been on a dip in form very recently, but only a dip. His sacking was a big surprise, but the Benitez appointment has shocked me. Since 2005 he has done, pretty much bu88er all!

Yes it is but we shouldn't knock him for doing it.
