  1. Only among the nappy wearing bed wetters. I would rather wait, take time and sign hte right player than buy quick just to appease a few nut cases in the fanbase.
  2. It's only the 5th July and add that to the fact that world cup has interupted the usual transfer market activities. Some people seriously need to get a grip FFS!!
  3. Really?? How long did the Lallana and Shaw deals take Liverpool and ManUre to tie up?
  4. I also think it was important that, being unbranded, we produced a kit that looked classy and not tacky. I think they've achieved this.
  5. The kit is nice but nothing special. Personally I'd have liked the classic Xerox/Air Florida era style but it is what it is and we have a nice kit that will please the masses and should sell (well at £50 a pop there may be an issue)
  6. Behave.
  7. LeTiss obviously. Gazza only flicked it past the last defender, whereas MLT controlled the ball that was passed behind him by a flick of his heal, clipped it past one defender all before he flicked it over the last defender. No contest
  8. Great news it's all sorted. Now we have a manager in place what are the bed wetters going to talk about now? Gonna be quiet on here for a while.
  9. See post 1071
  10. We lost but that was probably the most fluid England I've seen in years. We lost because we simply don't have the level of quality players Italy have (probably just 2 players short) in Pirlo and De Rossi. Not even Lallana, Shaw, Cork or JRod or any other Saints player will change that (Andy Durman) Good riddance to the 4-4-2 I say, more of that performance please.
  11. Agreed. I think he should be deployed as an impact player, particularly in this heat. As I've mentioned before, I have concerns about his end product. It's all well and good terrorising defences but if you don't produce something at the end of it, is is in vain. For me Lallana is a smarter player which is so valuable at this level.
  12. This ^ I thought that was one of the most encouraging England performances I have seen in a long time. We simply don't have the quality of a Pirlo or De Rossi and for me that was the difference. Pirlo controlled the game in a way no English play can. I agree that Roy has picked who he considers his best players and not necessarily the players to fit the system. Although Rooney didn't really do any wrong (apart from that one chance), I feel the system doesn't suit him unless he's playing central and for me Sturridge plays that role better in this system. Another thing I note is for all of Sterling's pace, and flair (and I thought he did well, scared the Italian defence every time the got the ball) I think there's a lack of an end product. Personally I'd like to see Lallana play that role with Sterling coming on against tired legs.
  13. To be fair in only 1 of his 7 managerial jobs was his record worse than that of MoPo's at Saints. Add to that the size of his name in world football and his ability with youth and imo every way you look at it suggests he'll be a step up.
  14. Translated means "Ronald Koeman is simply held by Southampton on a leash"
  15. Source? Or just your take based on the snipppets and rumors you've heard?
  16. Agreed
  17. I come on here for an update on the manager situation and I have to trawl through pages of sh17e about other posters. Come on mods sort it out! Anyway back on topic, it looks like Sherwood has his odds shortened and Magath widened. Does anyone think the bookies are playing with the odds to encourage betters to place bets on other candidates by making them look like they're in with a chance (by having shorter odds)? Sherwood for me is a no but to be fair he's only had 20 odd games and I haven't seen anything that would make me believe he'd be a bad choice, it's just that I haven't seen anything to suggest he could be a success. Yakin and Koemen have both shown they could be successful. Personally I'd be keen on either and added into my top 3 would be McLaren. Very good coach and I believe would be a good fit for the direction the club has been looking to go in.
  18. So Spuds are already interviewing for MoPo's replacement then.
  19. Thanks for the info Guan. I've not really picked up on your previous postings regarding a certain badge kissing individual but makes interesting reading regarding his attitude (maybe Clottenburg was right after all).
  20. Average record at Watford (although I don't know what the circumstances were there). Did well at Burnley. I agree that the club needs a high profile manager for this appointment.
  21. Shortest odds are now 8\13 for Koemen. Looks nailed on. As with one of my previous comments I still don't get why Dyche is such short odds (currently 2nd favourite at 9\2 and 4\1). He's been hardly mentioned in the media and on forums.
  22. what a plank!
  23. You seriously need help.
