Agree, if West Ham, Swansea and HTFC lose tomorrow and we win tonight then we will only need a draw to stay up IMO, however I will take a draw today if the others lose as I really fancy us to beat Swansea unless the rumours are true and Walcott is out injured then Im more confident we can win today.
-
Well if we go down and they win it wouldn't be the end of the world then, that 10 million will come in handy, probably cover the wages of the players for the season (after we loan or sell top earners). Ideally we stay up and Liverpool lose then I am a happy man.

Hughes has done well to get the squad more organised and playing better, unlucky for him and stupid by the board that he had to manage us with a tough run in, the way we played agaist arsenal and Chelsea if it was any team outside the top 7 we win get 4-6 points from them and only needing 1-2 points to stay up. If he gets 4 points from the next two games and keeps us up he's a hero for me like Pearson was, just this time i hope we keep him and go for mid table next season, he's the sort of manager to tell this board how it is, like Koeman did and demand reinvestment for players going.
-
Hughes can set us up like he did vs LCFC and get a point and be happy, 4 points keeps us up, no way HTFC get more then 1 point from the 3 they have left.

As long as your not a Bucks fan I will

The annual "Would you take Adkins back" thread?
sammysaint replied to Bad Wolf's topic in The Saints
Would love NA Back players loved playing for him and we played some good football with a good team, but having a good team does not automatically get you success for the people saying about the squad he had, look at Chelsea as a example should be 3rd or worse case 4th with that team and fighting for 2nd not sat in 5th and like 7 points behind 4th with 3-4 games left. If not Lambo wants to coach I believe, why not get him in. -
On the ball very good, at CB and defending very poor. Personally would rather have Yoshi at CB and Stephens as 3rd choice, if we go down then he can start but if we stay up he needs to be 3rd or 4th choice CB and we need a better CB then Yoshi or him to partner Hoedt.
-
Time for us to cause a toxic atsomphere at home and have fans invade the pitch, I'm sorry but this is the only option now, its not acceptable for the players to play like this and the board haven't had any slack which they deserve.
-
As a member who has been to 6 games so far I am safe for a ticket with a 32k allocation so I am happy, great to be hopefully at Semi final one week then Bmouth at home the following, win both and we will be all buzzing.
-
Hughes it seems then, IF we hire him I really hope its until the end of the season and if he keeps us up he is then kept on, maybe he will do a good job with a better budget then Stoke and he will have the balls like Koeman to question signings, one thing we have learned is you cant replace quality with potential all the time.
-
Best natural striker we have, yeah he needs to improve his conditioning or something to be able to play 30 games, but he has been fit and not played at times he's better then that Carrillo when injured. Problem is MP will play Carrillo over him which is a disgrace and that will relegate us.
-
Rather have Austin when fit or Gabba for certain games but deffo someone who can help with assists and hold up play, would like him as 3rd choice striker.
-
Austin is one of the best goal scorers in the league but has injury issues, when he's not fit Gabba is fine to lead the line he just needs players to pick his runs, but Redmond isn't good enough and Boufal likes to play a game of megs with the fullbacks.
-
People dissing Gabbi are the clueless football fans, watch him run off the ball and his movement he tried to run onto through balls and 1st time crosses into the box, him and Austin are great in the box strikers, we need the ball in the box, but when you have Redmond, Tadic and Boufal missing the runs not a lot you can do, Tadic is the best of the 3 picking his runs out, shame really as Redmond was picking his runs a lot last season.
-
We need better back up fullbacks as well, McQueen and Peid are awful, Targett will be okay as a back up but needs game time on loan somewhere soon. The fact our defence if injuries and suspension happens could be Peid, Stephens Yoshi and McQueen or Targett is embarrassing and that line up has happened this season. Gabba needs some supply and starts, we need a attacking mid and winger to help with the goals as both him and Austin can get 10-12 goals each in the premier league if rotated right.
-
We really do not need a striker, we need a winger and defender 1st. However with Austins injury this guy seems a good replacement as a big man striker.
-
Les is the one who has to go. We still not spent any money when we desperately need players to get away from the bottom 3, this team was never going to finish higher then 10th its not good enough especially without Van Dijk, yes MP is not doing great but he has a mid table team at very best, but had to deal without Bertrand and Cedric for a few games which has cost us, plus a bad decision for the handball.
-
It is the boards fault, team is full of back up mid table premier league players especially in the defence. McQueen and Peid are not good enough period, anyone that thinks otherwise please explain to me why. Stephens and Yoshida both do good things during a game but neither can mark very well, look at Hoedt moaning at Yoshi vs Man U, watch league cup final, watch Palace game again. Forster has been poor and cost us goals and points this season. All of the above mean the squad is probably a 10th-12th place side with luck on very few or little injuries to players like Hoedt, Bertrand, Cedric and probably Austin.
-
*Sturridge.
-
Walcott and a CB to partner Hoedt rather then sturbridge would be enough to help us push up into mid table and finish 10th or 9th, Van Dijk and Hoedt play last night and we win that game, Stephens and Yoshi are the worst CBs ever for marking players, the main problem is GK and defending followed by wingers not setting up goals, I prefer Bertrand and Cedric whipping balls into Austin then Redmond Boufal and Tadic, strikers are not the issue, Austin and Gabba can both score 10 each in the premier league when used as a rotation and both play at east 28-30 games. Forster/McCarthy Cedric Hoedt new CB Bertrand Lemina Romeu or PEH Tadic Boufal Walcott Austin Subs Gabba Davis and PEH/Romeu as the main super subs who rotate in and out with some of the starters.
-
Hoedt and Bertrand are the only two defenders in the squad who I feel are top 10 premier league quality rest are below average, People **** over Stephens and McQueen both are dreadful who have the odd good game, Yoshi and Stephens how many goals do they have to concede from poor marking before we realise they are a terrible pairing, the polish guy must be ****. Sign a experience premier league CB ASAP, sign a decent winger asap and IMO we will be alright, Austin will keep us up if he stays fit as would Gabba if we can find a player who can see his runs better, however i am confident one of Tadic or Boufal will step but if we sign another flair winger with pace.
-
Without VVD Bertrand and Cedric, we was always going to concede 3 or more goals agaist a top 4/5. The squads poor depth was exploited again today, Stephens Peid and McQueen aren't good enough and need to be sold or loaned etc.
-
Emergency meeting to discuss transfer targets, both managers recently have proven this squad is overrated and lacks depth, Puel was smart and played 2 DMs who were told to protect back 4 all game to avoid defeat, MP tells them to attack and be more creative but problem is creative players are awful. I hope this board meeting if true has discussed we need to sign a Winger, unrealistic I know but if we had Zaha as a example instead of Redmond I really think we would have more wins then we currently do. Board if they want to finish top 10 need to spend 25-30 million on a winger and slowly introduce Sims back into the squad, not saying he's the answer but he can't be more inconsistent then Boufal, Redmond and Tadic. Austin injury and or ban is not great either, Gabba needs to step up over the next 3 games, and the big one being Palace at home.
-
He is only 20 and has pace and quite direct, played that great pass to Long for the semi final and did well vs Everton on his debut, I think he's a 20-25 min impact player this season and then hopefully starts as he gets better.
-
I do not blame MoPo Les and the board over rate players like Redmond and Forster, we can't really on them often so we play it safe alot Puel was smart to notice that but me and others blamed him for the poor results. However MoPos biggest downfall is not starting with Austin and Gabba, we have to attack HTFC and I really hope he starts both on Saturday.
