Thought this would be hijacked with everyone saying Obafemi. I would have Adams starting most weeks using Obafemi as a super sub, thus moving on from Long. Obafemi needs a loan spell in the championship IMO, 3-6 months of solid regular football and I think he will become a good player, he's shown glimpses but has also been awful and not in games at all.
-
He is overated by the fan base like every other youth product, he had potential under posh and it looks like that's gone after loan spells and injury.
-
Stephens, Reed and McQueen are not good enough period but i think Targett proved he can play at a good level and start in the prem if needed, Sims I think also can and I hope he gets plenty of playing time on loan and comes back and competes, have to remember Targett and Sims are both under 22 I believe. JWP is a back up at best, wrong era for him sadly 90s and early 00s he would be a star but in this day and age he's a average player he doesn't have the pace to play out wide or physical ability to play in CM, so he has to be used sparingly.
-
Cedric is a good RB but he has games when he is dire like today and even last week I thought in patches looked ****. GO 352 and play JWP at RWB is most likely only option.
-
Hughes wasn't to blame as such, biggest mistake he did was take off Ings, should of taken off Long or even Hojberg, lucky last week Lemina didnt get sent off and this week it was Hojberg doing 3-4 bad tackles in the first half alone. For me you can only justify sacking a manager after signing them to a long term deal if he loses 4 games in a row and we play **** in all 4 with a fully fit or close to fit squad.
-
Ref should of sent of Lemina, but also think Ref missed plenty of fouls on us. As for Pickford, IMO it wasn't a red but a yellow and free kick would be fair, any other area on the pitch by another player thats a free kick.

You must have never played football before, Sunday morning changing rooms have much worse and even Hampshire league sides I have played for. You need someone with banter like his in the dressing room, as long as he scores 12-15 league goals we will love him anyway.
-
It will be a 0-0 or 1-1 boring game anyway, first few games we may see system changes and some starters and bench players rotated to find the right team for the season going forward, I don't really pay attention to the first 4/5 games, having more then 4 points from them is a bonus. We are built to be a top 10 team if everyone stays fit with potential to be good with the young players we have signed the last two seasons all or most being 26 or under.
-
I think we can finish between 9th and 12th, purely depends on injuries and new signings, if Austin and Gabba stay fit and Armstrong and Elyounoussi adapt quickly and produce some decent balls to the strikers we will score more goals then last season and in return win more games, Defensive side Vestergaard looks like he will be a boss and help develop Hoedt and I am confident them two can become a good CB partnership, my worry is back up RB we don't have one and McQueen and Stephens are not good enough to be apart of this squad, so I do hope Targett stays, a back up back four of Targett Jan Yoshi and new player aint too shabby for a mid table team.
-
Seriously people putting McQueen in starting line ups, Sorry but you know nothing about football if you think he starts over Bertrand at fullback/wingback or Cedric, he has no pace to play that position or premier league ability, Targett is next up with Bertrand is sold. Depending on formation I assume Hughes will change it depending on team selection and who we are playing, but if we go 42211 I think we could do really well and score plenty of goals, GK McCarthy LB Bertrand CB Vestergaard CB Hodet RB Bertrand CDM Romeu CDM Lemina RW Redmond LW Elyounoussi CAM Armstrong CF Austin. Subs Gunn, Targett, Yoshi, JWP, Davis, Sims, Gabba. If we go 3 5 2 Vestergaard Hoedt Yoshi Bertand Cedric Romeu Lemina Elyounoussi Redmond/Armstrong Austin.

Well we made about 107 mill last season, I think we all know the running of the club probably is less then that by a fine margin, he can use some of his profit to help out Lander sports profit has to be close to 30 without considering player sales or VVDs at least.
-
If I could afford it I would have a Season ticket, instead I get a membership and go to 8-10 home games and 1-2 away, soon as my youngest goes to school and I save on nursery fees I will be going more often then not when my son doesn't have games himself. Sportsmania and other services have been great but nothing better then being at the game IMO.

Niemi Bertrand Svensson VVD Clyne DM Marsden LW Bale RW Mane AMC Le Tisser CF Lambert Current players playing only. Forster Bertrand VVD Toby Clyne DM Morgan LWBale RW Mane AMC Lallana Austin ( if he could stay fit all season as this is make believe anyway lol).

In my lifetime 2002/3 or 2015/16. 6th place was amazing, we played some great football under Koeman. 2002/3 Cup final on my birthday and 8th which at the time was the highest position we have ever had in the prem.

That has always been the one i want, I get frustrated with league pass, I have flown to philly every season the last 4-5 times over the last 4 years to watch my sixers and I try to watch every game live but not always possible with 1/2am tip offs during the week, NBAHD was good but got frustrating when sometimes i would have to click the video like 10 times with ads before it would play, also replays of Inside the NBA is something I want and never found since youtube shut down the one guy who did it. Football replays are easy to find or watch live IMO, sportsmania have that for a small fee.

Not good enough, seems a good lad but he's championship quality and with Targett now showing he's ready to really compete for a starting LB position in the premier league, I think we need to keep hold of him instead and start him if Bertrand goes. Best of luck to McQueen if the rumours are true, I agree with posts above about sell on clause, don't think he will go for big money but could see him in 2 years if he does well getting a move to the premier league to a bottom 5/6 team and could make 500k-750k if we have a 15% sell on clause.
-
Assuming Bertrand has gone a experienced LB to fight with Targett for starting LB. Promes or some sort of promising proven winger with pace. CB to play with Hoedt, then we have Yoshi and Bednarek as league up and back up CBs, making us much stronger at the back. Other then that I am good as that would make the squad along with more game time for Sims and Gabba or Austin ( if he stays fit) much better and have us somewhere between 12th and 9th.
-
He did well at Fulham, Blackburn and 2 years at Stoke, not a bad 1st season at QPR but they then wanted to buy loads of players for the sake of it and did ****, same at Man City, sadly I think them two clubs ruined the perception he is crap in the transfer market, but i think owners pushed a lot of it. I must say I don't think he will be good enough to repeat Koeman or Poch standards and level but no reason why we cant finish top 10 for 2-3 years under him and play some alright football, if he does better then that then brilliant and he could even stay here long term if he does and turn out to be a loyal decent appointment.
-
If we can make some money to pay for more commercial development by renaming the stadium I am happy for that, then they have no excuse to reinvest more in the squad. Stadium naming has to be worth at least 2-3 million a season if its called The Insert company name St Marys stadium, maybe more if they choose the name and rename it completely.
-
Stephens could be a decent DM, good tackling, blocking and great on the ball, but terrible at marking and defensive heading despite his attacking heading is half decent. He is only 24 so can develop but sadly that needs to away from St Marys for a season, last chance to develop at CB or play a different position if he wants to play regular premier league football. Rather develop Bednarek and Hoedt ( who is also 24), I think them two can become top CBs for us and teams outside the top 6.
-
Targett is better then McQueen at LB, personally I would love for him to stay as back up and give him league cup games and maybe the odd 10-15 mins here and there. We need a better RB or back up RB so that has to be something to look at in the summer, we don't want to have to try and find a back up LB and RB this summer.
-
People say we should sign new strikers and I tell them, Austin and Gabba are fine for us and both will get 10 plus goals if played enough and used in rotation along with more attacking football, we just need better supply to them from better tactics and a better winger signed over the summer.
-
Booom !!!!!!!!!! I really hope Mark Hughes stays, he will not take crap from Les Reed, who sadly I think will be kept on.
-
For me I would go 433, Tadic Redmond and Austin as the front 3, Romeu Lemina and Hojberg in the middle, we have to eliminate playing Stephens. Unless Hughes wants to play safe and play counter attacking then he could go Tadic Long Redmond, but for me Redmond vs Bmouth and Everton has showed some great confidence and deserves a chance to start, that flick over the Bmouth player to lead the counter attack has gone missed by some fans, plus his impact vs EFC was great. Biggest game of the season, WIN your safe, draw your clutching on lose and we are down despite it not being mathmatically official.
-
Hope it is true until we know our fate, win tomorrow and they can have it as we will be safe ( baring a ridiculous scoreline).
