A person I know has has a modest house converted to cope with her MS paid for by a disability facilities grant. The "spare" room was for an overnight carer she has had her housing benefit reduced. The adaptations... Beams fitted for bed hoists, bath hoists in the downstairs single living room/bedroom/kitchen She can't even access the "spare" rooms as they are upstairs. In fact she shares her living/bed room space with her assistance dog!

I work for my benefits.... I have to do a minimum 35 hours at £1.71 per hour carers allowance..... I swear the UK has a minimum wage...

Done :-) I still can't believe people give a 5 year old a £500 toy to keep them quiet! And the lack of supervision of the suitable apps..... Gob smacked ... He down loaded a game similar to call of duty and then re-downloaded it once it was removed....

The password is not required for any in app purchases for 15 min after any "free"purchase. Every time the password is used there is a 15 min danger time.

I caught my friend downloading a free game for her son that had in app purchases priced up to £14.99! Ie bag of gold tokens etc. We deleted the app but it appears he can now download it without the password now. I tunes stays logged in for 15 min after Each download Is there a way to de-register the credit card and use iTunes vouchers instead? Or would it default to the credit card if the voucher was exceeded? I still cannot believe how fast she authorised a purchase for a 5 year old and then handed him back the iPad without checking the game content. But I guess if she did it hundreds of other parents do it too. (She is by no way stupid) I am actually shocked at the way £500 iPads are in the hands of 5 & 11 year old I know even though the families are on tight budgets. I wasn't even allowed a radio until I was 14. I

Were the chair legs cut down so Rosie could jump up on them for board meetings?

I had two mates who had time shares. One in Florida one in Lymington. The Florida on was a pain, hard to swap, hard to visit, expensive to visit. The one in Lymington was east to use, cheap to get to, and easy to swap with exotic locations. Spanish properties are very cheap. they could in theory recover but there are so many properties to sell before the price can rise. There is no liquidity in the market. If you needed to sell you could knock 25% off the price and still not get a buyer. You could rent from another desperate Brit trying to return home very cheaply. I know two from a £250k detached house in Rownhams returned with health problems and now have a £140k mid terrace in lordswood! Personally I would not borrow money to buy a Spanish property. Their government has strange attitudes to ripping off property owners and re-selling the land.

Today is a good day, Pompey lose to Fleetwood. Saints are currently 5th in the league above ManU and Man City.... What's not to like....

tony13579 replied to tony13579's topic in The Lounge
We will give the NHS route a chance. However it's got a bit serious as he's taking all the wrong meds because he didn't hear the instructions and he broke 2 bones dodging traffic he didn't hear. His GP is now on side. Thanks. -
Recommendation of hearing aid shops Shirley area

We were heading down the Nhs route However as he has significant sums in the bank and more coming in than he can spend I wanted to know the options. I thought that if he could hear what we were saying more I might not have to repeat myself so much I thought that if he could hear what we were saying more I might not have to repeat myself so much I thought that if he could hear what we were saying more I might not have to repeat myself so much -
Can any one recommend a hearing aid shop for the father in law in the Shirley area of Southampton Also what sort of budget price should we expect. Thanks Tony

And there I was thinking all those jobs had been saved and those high spending fans were going to bring wealth and prosperity to Portsmouth City

I wonder if my eyesight will last long enough to read the last post on this thread....

Not unless they get their clock back...

I hope the people "storing" the historic goods that are Pompey's past are patient because they will have to wait a long time.... Clock, paintings, tables, ..... They may be antiques by the time pompey can afford to get them back.

So fatpipes park has to limp forward 3.5 years on a shoe string budget. The squad has to limp on with the existing budget. There will be a board room melt down, fans aren't that patient They will never make it. I can't wait :-)

I defrost the freezer with the steam iron Lol My wife's shoe collection would account for...... 100x £50= £5000 We pay just under £300 for a 350k bungalow with hallifax If you are doing contents it includes furnishings. I recon on £2000 to pay someone to decorate , carpet , curtains light fittings one room. Sofa £1000 each beds £500-1000 don't forget all the crap like a vase of dead sticks , extension leads, wifi routers you got for free but you will have to pay for. Pens, scissors ,string batteries. If you had start from zero you would spend £80 filling the odds and ends draw in the kitchen. How many days would it take to decorate every inch of your home and garden? Multiply that by £150 then add all the materials.

Advice on travelling through France please

You don't need the alcohol test kit any more. They don't work unless stored under 30 degrees and it is alleged that sarkosies family make them and it was all a con. Hi vis jackets are needed for all passengers too. Translate any essential phrases via google translation then store them on the notes on your phone. Especially the medical notes of any of your party. Photograph the medical insurance too. I got a cheap eu sat nav from china for about £45. Breakdown cover is more for cars over 11 years old. Take plenty of mains adapters and some uk 4 way extension sockets. Remember to add +44 to phone numbers in place of the first zero if you want to phone or text each other -
The restaurant in St Thomas's hospital just over the bridge from houses of parliament is very good value! (for London) the cabinet war rooms are good. We did a jack the ripper tour which was good too. This is a good website http://www.timeout.com/london/things-to-do/free-london A meal in Chinatown is an experiance too http://www.timeout.com/london/restaurants/where-to-eat-in-chinatown

A zoo keeper was going on holiday and his usual relief got rushed into hospital so quickly he asked his best mate to look after the animals. On the first day his mate fell in the pond killing some of the fish, no worries he thought. I'll feed them to the loins, they eat anything The next day he gave a whole chicken to charlie the chimp who choked and died, no worries he thought. I'll feed him to the loins, they eat anything On the third day he went to look in the bee hives and get some honey. They swarmed and attacked him, he grabbed a spade and beat most of them to a pulp on the ground.so he waited for things to calm down , scraped up the mess, no worries he thought. I'll feed them to the loins, they eat anything On the fourth day the zoo keeper returned. He looked in the pond and thought I am sure there were more fish than that! He looked in the chimp enclosure and wondered where Charlie was hiding He looked at the bee hive and was surprised they were not busier on a nice warm day. Then he spotted his favourite lion, "Morning Lional, did he look after you well" The loin replied "Oh yes, I had fish chimp and mushy bees for tea!"

Is the boardroom table in storage? Or in a caravan being made into pegs.
