The "I'm on the bus for the skate game" roll call
BJBSAINTS replied to Spudders's topic in The Saints
Bus 6 from SMS with one other...... Roll on Sunday -
Shaky at best but feel sorry for lad, sitting on the bench week in week out and then all of a sudden in the sticks live on sky can't be easy. Having said this he is a pro and should be able to deal with the pressure that brings. I had a bad feeling after he made the early cock up and thought something like the goal was coming all game. Let's hope KD is back next week for the skates.

My first ever glimpse of the mighty red n whites was a reserve game at the dell circa 1984 aged 6! My grandad was a Season ticket holder and took me along to see if I liked it. got the bug straight away and have been hooked ever since, great memories and now taking my son down to SMS to keep the tradition going.

Great interview with the top man....on the bus with Nige on the way to the premiership.

Got to be the 4v0 thrashing of spuds in the cup. My last game before i went travelling to Oz.....I said in the aftermath that if we got to the final I'd come back (never thought this would happen) we did and i did f*****g expensive round trip that one but worth it to see the yellows at cardiff!

Finally.....looks to be a decent signing if the YT clips are anything to go by?! Looks like he has pace, strength, can cross and finish pretty f****** well......if he does all of this on a regular basis I'll be happy. Well done NC

Cheers Griffo, missed that one!

Off to Vegas at the weekend for a mates wedding and have just heard a rumour that some/all the squad are off to celebrate promotion over there.... Anyone itk confirm this?
-
RIP Deano Great player for us and a good lad to boot, will always be remembered as a top Saints defender.
-
Probably the favorite in my collection is the 3rd kit from 92/93. Yellow Flamed effect made by Admiral with draper tools sponsor and signed by the squad at the time, its framed and has been on my wall for a number of years but the missus is not too keen on it now!
-
This is brilliant.......good work to everyone at the club a real gem this is better than a new signing imo, would have been a huge loss.

Earliest age to take a child to a football match?
BJBSAINTS replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
Took my son to his first game v Oldham this season, aged 2yrs 4 months......We sat behind the goal in the Chapel and although he slept for about 10 mins in the first half when Chambo scored the winner he absolutely loved the celebrations! Also took him to the peterborough game so he's on a 100% record at the moment! Won't be taking him again until the end of the season when it starts getting a bit warmer. -
Easily the best keeper in this p1ss poor league. Has been in superb form this season but unfortunately will drop the odd clanger and when you're in the sticks everyone will highlight it, speaking from personal experience you can have a blinder then drop one ball and get remembered for that one moment. Name me one keeper who hasn't had a mare in his career...?

The Scott McDonald swap rumour could have something in it.......his missus is a southampton girl and has not long ago had their first baby. Not sure if hcdajfu or not? He hasn't exactly set the championship alight. We will and most probably have offers for Lallana on the table, it will be a test of how much the 5 year plan is on track or not looking at our squad come 31st Jan.

Gazza for spurs against us at the dell in 91? Amazing..... what a talent and what a waste of it he made.

For me it has to be watching the most skillfull player of that generation week in week out. Matty's wonder strikes against Newcastle (being behind the goal on the milton and seeing myself on sky!!), the genius strike against his old mate Timmy Flowers and celebration afterwards and the sublime chip vs manure. First away trip to notarf krap for alan sh1tes testimonial and Dave Beasant coming out afterwards and telling jokes to us lot who were being kept behind as the blue few smashed their own place up! Evening games at The Dell were always special and although there have been some moments at SMS the 90's era for me will always be remembered as good times.

Absolute shocker last night..... Having seen both last night and saturdays performances first hand, I can hardly believe we are the same team which finished last season as the form side in the division. We have no one in the 11 or on the bench who can pick a pass in the final third, no pace to get in behind the oppositions back 4 (although we insist on hoofing it down the channels at every opportunity???), no one who looks like they really care if we lose or not and too many defensive (in the loose sense of the word) players who when they have the ball look petrified and either smah it up field in the hope of finding a saints shirt or give it back to Davis who does exactly the same. Adkins has a massive job on his hands, I am 100% behind him and hope that he can lift us all off the floor beacuse it really can't get any worse than the last two performances. Does anyone know if Aaron Martin was injured last night? Arguably our best player sat replaced by the woeful Seaborne who in my opinion looks like he would be out of his depth playing for Eastleigh .....
-
Puncheon had an ok day?? Different game than i saw, thought he was woeful at best. IMO the only two who came out of the game with any credit were Aaron Martin & David Connelly, the rest seemed like they couldn't care if they were there or not. You just knew if they scored first our heads would drop even further than where they had began and we would never get anything from the game. Wilkins made one brief cameo in the technical area....no leadership on or off the field, we desperately need a manager who can command some respect, lift the team and fans and get us playing again quickly before promotion slips out of reach. Mk Dons on wednesday.......lets hope it happens before then.

whoops hit the wrong button there! spoke to him earlier seems well up for it although had nothing for him.

Calderon is actively looking for properties to rent in Southampton form 1st July for 3 years.....oh and he has a dog! Done deal, and a good one i believe.

Have heard from numerous sources he is infact the worst player at the club and gets ripped in training by everyone. Do I feel sorry for him?.....quite simply no, he gets paid to play (or not as the case may be) football and lets face it most of you on here, me included would jump at the chance. Needs to be gone along with the other so called fringe players collected by Lowe.

Would you sign Papa Waigo N'Diaye on a permanent basis?
BJBSAINTS replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
Yes. For sure has pace and can finish, why would you not want a player like that in our squad/team? -
Thomas = stay, he plays with a bit of aggression which we need at times. Waigo = stay, can offer something different (impact) Semi = stay, half decent player IMO James= stay, agree with dibden purlieu saint, will be a decent champ player, can cross, pass and put foot in. Antonio = undecided, can be exciting but can be pony The rest can go especially Pulis?!
