Ian Darke, despite being a Pompey fan has always been very very fair when commentating on the Saints, and that goes back years to when Sky first started covering football. He is one of the best commentators around IMHO and never shows any bias. I thought Minto was very good too, dont see that he was bias, he said all night that we were much much better. The only one biased was Franny

Exactly. Aside from his "contribution" at St Mary's he has been escorted out of more than enough football grounds over the years to make him, shall we say, mis-understood !
-
Having seen it a few times on replay thats a bit harsh. Do you want to re-evaluate your statement ?
-
AP agrees with you about being a bit sloppy. Good to hear cos we really did pee all over them.
-
Totally agree, had a good game tonight, well done Bart

I couldnt believe we have waited all this time to get that 3 line letter. I havent lost much but for the ordinary supporters who have (as opposed to those businessmean from Gloucestershire way - ahem ) then that is really rubbing salt into the wounds. Um, like we didnt know months and months ago Mr Fry ! Why the delay....its the first and obviously last letter I have had from them too !
-
Its Live on Sky so probably not.
-
Well he sort of has, Papa is on loan for the season with a view to buying, so its similar but the timescale is obviously broader.
-
Now now, no need to be sarcastic - when the draw came out i just said "that will do" cos it should mean progression to Round 3....which is what we all want...right ?
-
yeah I did actually and I sat next to Wade Elliott's dad.....very interesting he was too ! How much better are we now than we were then by the way ?
-
What like it has for Charlton, Hartlepool etc ? Did anyone say the Quarter Final draw at home to Wolves back in 2003 was boring by the way ?
-
Since there are enough of you who have done it would someone kindly tell me why this is a "crap and boring" draw ? Surely a team in a lower league who we should beat to progress to the 3rd round is a good draw isn't it ? And how can it be boring ? It could end up 6-4 !!!
-
Indeed....following on from a previous Chairman who made similar quotes regarding Gray, Wigley, Sturrock, Redknapp, Portaloo and Wotte !!
-
Home to Staines would be nice. I bet we get bloody Norwich or Leeds
-
Especially if they are short of cash and want to strengthen in other areas yes. They are doing ok in the league aren't they, he obviously has centre half cover amongst the 7 subs he has to name every week, and didn't I see that NT's contract expires in the summer ?
-
I would think the chances of having him available for Round 2 ofthe FA Cup have increased. Beyond that we will have to see if he plays enough for our first team for him to even want to stay. That England tornament did him no favours as far as his place in the team goes.

Bristol Rovers 2- 3 Saints - You Tube of saints goals here
beatlesaint replied to Baj's topic in The Saints
How good was Antonio's goal ? And Connolly's finishing shows his class. If he stays fit he will be a big player for us in the next 2-3 years -
Joseph Mills, Lee Holmes, Lee Molyneux....in that order
-
He is not awful, he is just not ready to be played out of position.
-
I thought those two questions were both asked and answered either on the Solent Forum or on the OS recently, or both ! Beer contract is tied in for the forseeable future and i cannot remember the answer about travel for disabled people but I'm sure it can be found in News Archive on the OS.

Thats rich considering your Post count is standing at 2,584......its about time you didnt bother to write so much then we could all come on here and enjoy what you haven't written !
-
or Thomas ! Cant believe Chelsea dont want Mellis cup tied though.

Opposition teams can have all the plans and tactics they like in place to "hit us where it hurts" but if the players of those teams aren't as good as ours then its not going to work too often. Its all well and good telling the centre half "Ok when we get a corner, you go up for it, out jump Lambert who will be marking you and we are one up" Teams know how Chelsea, Man Utd and Arsenal play, but not too many beat them. Now obviously I am not comparing us to them but most people in football seem to agree we are one of the better teams in this league.
-
There doesnt seem much point in watching this Football League show as every week the highlights are longer and therefore better on the BBC's Southampton page

Apologies for rising to his bait....but sometimes his thinly veiled attacks on Saints legends (I know he hates that word) just get my blood boiling. I will block the tosser again I think.....so please nobody quote him
