  1. A Right Back please !
  2. ha ha, it appears explorer saint doesn't do that much exploring
  3. Yes, although if cheap enough I would still pick him up as back-up.
  4. Now come on, you need to get out of the Lowe regime mindset
  5. Excellent. I assume Ward is a no go now then is he ?
  6. The funniest thing was some people tried to defend it with classic lines like "its not that bad" and "if you look at it form a cetain angle" It was one of the worst statues of anyone you will ever see. It had to be us didn't it !!
  7. Could you translate this into English please.
  8. Yep, me too - suggested they had some software whereby you could select your own, or a specific seat for Cup ties or if buying for friends who want to sit near by etc.
  9. I agree, we should, but his contract is up at the end of the season so he wouldn't cost us anything.
  10. He is certainly better than Thomson. Will reserve judgement on McLaggon until he is fit again. I think its a good signing. Antonio is a typical winger - when he is good he is very good, when he is bad, oh dear ? And he is only 19.....
  11. We dont have back up for Lambert, in other words another target man, therefore he is better than nothing, which is what we currently have.
  12. Well from my experience pre Christmas if he avoids Basingstoke he'll be fine
  13. Leeds have had 3 and a half years to build the squad they have now. We have had just under 6 months. When fit we have a better forward line than them, they have a better midfield and defence. Considering how much longer they have had to prepare for this season than we have I think we have done rather well. They are better than us, but they are not miles ahead of us by any stretch.
  14. If he is put off by a bit of snow and ice we dont want him - big girls blouse Hopefully this will turn out to be true, he sounds just what we need. Now for a right back please Mr Pardew !
  15. That sir, is one of the funniest lines I have ever read on here, I dont think anyone could miss the point you are making
  16. Exactly, how a tie that we stand a chance of winning and progressing to the next round can be boring is beyond my comprehension. According to some thats 3 boring ties out of the 4 we have had in this competition. Some people want jam it seems.
  17. I do hope AP gets a bloody right back tho........
  18. Home to Spurs would be nice. Must be around about the time of old saggy chops court case so be nice to give him a good send off
  19. He would be good in so far as he would kill or maime the opposition centre forward if thats what you are looking for.
  20. If the Premier League have difficult questions to answer be prepared for them to do all they can to help out Pompey. They would rather do that than face any unwanted probing into how they work.
  21. Dont think thats necessary to be fair John B. Ottery was only stating his point of view, and in fairness if the City Council hadn't come riding over the hill with a plan we wouldn't have St Marys now. Lowe took a lot more credit than he should have for that.
  22. I remember at the Evening with Lawire Mac and co, when talking about the game they were arranging that was ultimately scrapped, Lawrie said the money raised would go into a seperate bank account so that the money would not get swallowed up and lost within the club's exisitng accounts/debts. In the end of course anyone who bought a ticket was given the choice of their money back. I suspect, having already donated, many took that opportunity so the money from that sadly failed effort is probably accounted for. BUT, its the things like the bucket collections, the Saints Aid Day, the granny with her £500 etc - how much was collected in total and where did it go ?
  23. Many of the donations were collected BEFORE the end of last season and that was some time before Southampton FC even appeared on ML's radar. Other donations followed during May, again before they became involved. As the period of exclusitivity was awarded by Mr Fry to Pinnacle instead of ML then you can argue that their involvement came much later, even though they may have been watching from a distance whilst the Pinnacle thing was playing out its pantomime. Would ML and NC even have known about the bucket collections, Evening with LM, MLT and MC etc etc ? I think its an excellent question - what did happen to the donations, how much did it total, what were they used for - and I think each and every one of us who donated deserves an answer, but I'm not sure it is a question or questions ML and NC could answer.
  24. Thats a very good point, but the press will only turn on their darling Harry if he becomes no use to them. So if the court case for taxes goes badly for him and he is locked up, loses his job and his famous "rent a gob" falls silent for a few months/years ( ) then they will turn on him, but not before.
  25. There is ambition and there is attracting the sort of players you and the rest of us want to the club whilst in League 1. Anyone from the Championship (or higher ? ) joining now will have to look and say to themselves "realistically this is 18 months in League 1 at least". Yes we could reach the play offs but even if we do that is a lottery so realisitcally we are looking to go up automatically next season. If a player hasn't got the intelligence to work that out his agent/advisors will and unless the wages are really good they wont come here, and why should NC/ML pay out top wages to players that wont set the world alight in the Championship ? Build a team to get out of League 1, build a team to get out of the Championship, build a team to stay in the Premiership.....and they have a 5 year plan to get us back there ? Don't see how that lacks ambition to be honest.
