  1. James does not miss any games, for the umpteenth time the bookings tally is now 10. After years of lacking the winning mentality the players are showing a desire to win, ok some of the niggles are needless but they need to channel the winning mentality which, lets face it, is a learning curve for us and them !
  2. I have no sympathy for them whatsoever but how much does this show Sol Campbell up to be a greedy, money grabbing peice of garbage ? The guy is obviously loaded after being on mega bucks at both Arsenal and Pompey (prob Spurs before them too) so he sees the club are in big trouble and just puts the boot right in. Some people are despicable beyond words......still as long as you get some of your £1.7 million Sol to go with the millions you already have in the bank sod the tea lady who wont earn that much in 10 lifetimes eh ?
  3. As long as he is good enough for the CCC, which I believe has been proven, then he is good enough to get us promoted to it (next year probably more so than this). And if he is good enough for the CCC he can help us get promoted out of it. Surely those two things mean he would be worth £1 million in the long run wouldn't it ?
  4. I doubt he will answer, but perhaps when he looks at our squad the ones he means are Pulis, Molyneux, Thomson, Saga, Lancashire........all of whom do not feature anywhere near the first team, and he has just forgotten they were here before AP arrived
  5. Chris Coleman will have no say if NC waves a cheque in front of the Coventry chairman. Would you turn down £500k for arguments sake for a player you dont really want when the only club in for him pulled out of a deal for another player a few weeks beforehand ? Our money is as good as anyones......its not as if they have to sleep with NC is it ?
  6. Footballers are not the most intelligent of people by and large BUT even given that why are Pompey so worried about getting the transfer embargo lifted ? Who in their right mind is going to sign for a club where you have no idea if you are going to be paid each month ? The best they can hope for is out of work footballers, and I cant imagine there are too many of them who are Premiership standard.
  7. Schneiderlin would have been the one who can pass the ball better
  8. If he can saty fit I agree.
  9. and there was me getting all hopeful
  10. Excuse my ignorance, I cant see a thread, so where has this come from ?
  11. I couldn't agree more. Bart could well be the future for us, best not upset him when there is no need. If Kelvin is not 100% then he should be on the bench. Kelvin is our no.1 choice and so he should be BUT until Bart fouls up he should keep the shirt.
  12. Yes, under the injury updates on the OS it says he will be out for about a fortnight.
  13. I would think his intention, according to his lawyer, to plead Not Guilty will not help his sentence/punishment when he is found guilty. I say when because they do not take things like this to Court unless 100% sure. I bet Storrie, Mandric and 'arry will run one hell of a protection racket on the inside
  14. A midfield player (Stock, Danns or a surprise) and some cover for Lambert and I will be very pleased with our transfer activity this month.
  15. aint that the truth ! Another player who, in Britain, has only played at a higher level than we are currently playing at........so for some he's not good enough ?? Give me strength.
  16. Exactly. If the guy hasn't signed what are they supposed to do, make it up ?
  17. It says he has signed on 18 month contract.
  18. can he play at Right Back then cos with Ward signing we have an embarassment of riches at centre half
  19. If or when we get to the financial promised land of the Premiership I am sure ML will see a healthy return on his out lay. Businessmen, especially ones who are billionaires do not plan projects that will make them money or whatever on a strict 12 month turn round. It has been much mentioned that this is a 5 year plan or project as it now seems to be getting called and I would think at the end of the 5 years ML will take stock of his financial outgoings and weigh it up against possible profit in the long term or even, God forbid, balance it against the enjoyment it has bought him personally watching a football club that was virtually dead spring to life under his ownership. The money is is the Premiership, ML will be well aware of that.
  20. I have no problem with him in midfield, I still think he would be quite good as a right sided midfield player so he could provide cover for the right back. But at right back - he is too slow if anyone with any pace is up against him, his positional play is not all it should be, he tends to ball watch at times and he isn't very good at holding the line. Now in this league you can probably get away with it 50%, maybe more, of the time but if we intend to take this league by the scruff of the neck next season Lloyd at right back would be a very big weakness unfortunately.
  21. Merrington on Coyle - "he's been operating on a shoe string....they have offered him a bigger shoe string" !!! WTF.....
  22. If ever there was a line written for a Carry On film thats it
  23. The Daily Mirror have looked at who else scores goals in this league, apart from Beckford, and found this chap Lambert at Southampton......Southampton ? Aren't they strapped for cash ? An innacurate 2 + 2 by London journo's me thinks !
  24. Indeed, who would want to in fairness
  25. I assume he can play in the JPT Southern Final then
