  1. If we bring in Vassell on circa £10K - £15K a week, all it will do is upset the already established players in the team (i.e. Lambert, Lallana, etc) and result in them asking to be put on the same wages as Vassell! This can only be damaging to squad morale and our overall budget. I stick by my point that we should be looking to sign players mainly from the same league as us and the odd 1 or 2 players from the Championship. When we get promoted, we can then start looking to sign Premiership players. If we are looking at Premiership players at the moment, we should be looking to loan some of the younger players from the Premiership sides (i.e. Dean Parrett from Spurs and Gael Kakuta from Chelsea) who won't cost us much (if anything) in wages and will have something to prove to their parent clubs! I would be happier if we signed Tyson over Vassell! Anyway, AP will have the final say on transfer matters!
  2. Well said Chez!
  3. There are posts on the Nottingham Forest forum saying that the club is in financial trouble! This surely puts Saints in the better bargaining position when it comes to negotiating a fee for Nathan Tyson. I reckon a bid of £525K will secure the signing of Tyson!
  4. But Tyson, who has a slight groin strain following Wednesday's win over Mansfield, will not be considered for either trip. What a load of b*llocks! This is the sort of sh*t clubs come out with when the player in question is at another club negotiating their contract as part of a pending transfer! Hopefully Tyson is on his way to contract negotiations with AP and NC at SMS!
  5. I 110% agree that we should get rid of Wotton! The guy doesn't know how to pass the ball forward, and when he does, he just dinks it straight down the middle of the pitch straight through to the opposition's goalkeeper! GET RID!!! Competition for places (especially in midfield is definately needed! Schneiderlin, Hammond, Lallana and Puncheon have no real competition for their places at the moment! Needless to say I was happy to see Pardew's comments: "I'm a little bit concerned about my wide areas, there's not really a lot of competition for the starters. I still think we need another option (in attack). What that option will be will depend on the market and what becomes available." 2 CMs and another wide player are needed IMO. And of course, another Rickie (he won't be easy to find)! In AP I trust!
  6. None of our players have squad numbers on the "Players profiles" page now! New squad numbers are imminent me thinks!
  7. An option for CM - Dean Parrett (18 years old) of Spurs (their don't have a reserve team, so their younger players have to be loaned out to other clubs to get 1st team experience!). Plays in central midfield and he takes a wicked free kick apparently! He is currently on duty with the England U19s so we could scout him at the same time as scouting Matthew Phillips (19 years old) of Wycombe Wanderers! Gael Kakuta would be a quality loan signing too!

I agree, but I think we need at least 2 CM players: 1) A goalscoring creative midfielder (Danns maybe);and 2) A ball winning holding midfielder (I'm open to suggestions on this 1 but maybe Stock) A quick skillful winger to give Lallana and Puncheon competition for their places would also be good. And a backup / alternative to Rickie is a must! I'm sure AP has had a certain player in mind for this role ever since the Gillingham game where he started Rickie on the bench and we struggled! Has anybody got any other suggestions to fill the above positions?
  9. I completely agree with the fact that we need competition for places! Certain players, though good, have no real competition for their place at the moment (i.e. Schneiderlin, Hammond, Lallana and Puncheon). Frazer Richardson is another player that has no real competition for his place (I know that he has only just signed, but we don't have another recognised right back in the squad!). Danny Butterfield (or maybe Simon Francis) would provide some competition for Frazer Richadrson for the right back slot which IMO can only be a good thing! We have 2 quality left backs now in Dan Harding and Ryan Dickson who will compete for the left back slot this season. As Jose Mourinho once said, you need 2 quality players for each position to be successful! Enough said!
  10. I reckon there is a chance that Man City would be willing to loan us Boyate with them covering 100% of his wages! He would get 1st team experience, and it's not like they are skint is it!

If we do end up signing Brian Stock, I think he will be in the running for the captain / vice captain role seeing as though he was the Doncaster Rovers captain last season. I would keep Hammond as captain myself, but I do agree that Fonte definitely has the required attributes to be a captain of the club!
  12. This is the exact argument I was putting forward when you were talking about us signing Darius Vassell Mikey! I personally think that Boyate did OK against Manchester United when he played in the Carling Cup semi finals. Mancini must have seen something in him when he arrived at Manchester City to put him straight in to the team against such high quality opposition! He didn't get much of a look in under Mark Hughes as faras I'm aware!
  13. There is a rumour doing the rounds that Lee Holmes is gonna be part of a deal for Chris Lines! Rumour has it the deal will be £250K + Lee Holmes for Chris Lines. This is 1 of many rumours though so I'm not sure how reliable it is!
  14. If only he could learn the offside rule! To be fair I think some of his offside decisions last season were due to the slowness of the L1 linesman!
  15. Steve Claridge = SKATE C*NT!
  16. A very good point! A RB with League 1 experience and alos available on a free! I hope this deal happens!
  17. I seriously doubt that Doncaster have a spare £1m to spend on 1 player, so the idea that there is an imminent deal to bring Stock to SMS is very creditable! Simon Gillett is being eyed up by Doncaster (most likely as a replacement for Stock!), and he did spend some of last season on loan to Doncaster. I reckon this deal could be sewn up before Saints leave for Switzerland on Thursday! Oh, and Frazer Richardson is a top signing! Top work AP!
  18. I really hope that we correct the 1 glaring error in our squad numbers, that being our number 10 shirt being allocated to the pack of SH*T that is Paul Wotton! I hope our number 10 next year will be a top quality striker that we have signed in the summer! I'm not sure about having our reserve keeper as number 13 though! Maybe I'm just being superstitious!
  19. I think that Danny Butterfield would be a v good addition to the squad. We are in desperate need of a right back (preferably 2!)! He was a regular for Palace at right back last season and he could potentially play at centre back when needed! Lets hope that Neil (Judas) Warnock doesn't attempt to raid another of his old clubs for another one of his old players (Kenny from Sheffield United and Clint Hill from Palace). Warnock is such a 2 faced pr*ck! He tried to persuade Neil Danns to stay at Palace in January and then *****ed off to QPR as soon as the opportunity presented it self! What a co*k! Has anybody noticed that the rumours surrounding certain players have died down recently which makes me wonder whether the players in question have already agreed transfers to another club? If these players have already agreed a deal with another club, it would mean that their agent would not be touting the player around to other clubs. The 1 I'm interested in is Simon Francis of Southend. A right back, and a player that was the subject of a lot of transfer rumours last month!
  20. I agree, like you say a lot of players contracts end on 30th June (i.e. Dickson)! I suspect that AP and NC have already wrapped up 1 ,or maybe 2, deals (in addition to the Dickson deal) but won't officially announce anything until the player/s contract has run out on 30th June. I think AP moved early for Dickson because he thought if he didn't he might have competition for his signature! In AP and NC I trust!
  21. Puncheon scored a few goals last year cutting in from the right wing on his left foot! He also helped to set up a few goals cutting in from the right too! A lot of teams play with wingers playing on a side that is not natural to them (i.e. England on the left hand side). Another winger (or 2) would be useful though!
  22. I agree with you completely! We have a severe lack of pace within our squad! Pace is a great asset, especially in away games where you can catch teams on the counter attack! The Chris Lines rumour sounds interesting! I thought there was talk of Holmes being involved in the deal too!
  23. My sentiments exactly! Get rid of all the deadwood A.S.A.P and lets get in some quality players who came get us back to where we belong, the Premier League! Roll on the 28th August when we can offload Pulis as well! There are is a rumour that Holmes could be part of a player + cash deal for Chris Lines. Wotton to Exeter is another rumour! Lets hope both rumours are true! Keep up the good work AP!
  24. I agree with your point in relation to the fact that Charlton will be a weaker side next year, but if you lose 5 of you top players then you are gonna be a weaker team! Maybe Frazer Richardson (who I believe was named as the right back in the League 1 team of the year for last season!) should be another Charlton player that we could add to our squad!
  25. Mikey, I don't agree that Charlton were a poor team last year. I saw the game at SM and it was a close 1-0 victory for us. I believe the game at the Valley was a 1-1- draw as well so they can't be that bad. They also finished in the playoffs and only got beaten by Swindon on penalties! Lloyd Sam is a good player, and I agree that he would be a good signing on a free transfer from one of our promotion rivals for next season. However, Charlton do have some other good players like Bailey (potentially joining Middlesbrough for £1.5m and a possible transfer target for us!), Sam Sodje (also available on a free transfer), Thierry Racon, Kyle Reid and not forgetting Jonjo Shelvey who is joining Liverpool!
