    Jose Fonte

I think he's been shaky this season. Less confident and dominant. Perhaps he needs a run in a consistent back four. I don't think Jaidi will cut it in this league so Hooiveld will need to play alongside Fonte a lot more until they get a decent understanding between each other. But whatever the reason, his performances have been disappointing this season
  2. So the same price as the tickets against Preston at SMS, fair enough. Might pop up for this one.
  3. Southampton FC under Nicola Cortese have been great with charity in my experience, getting involved with my money-raiser for Type-1 Diabetes, when I contacted them via email. I have seen docker_p's post history and he seems very anti-Cortese, jumping on anything negative, be it bullsh*t or a twisted newspaper story. Much like the rest of the UI forum, I think his agenda is best left ignored.
  4. Fonte... What's up with him??
  5. Just saw the highlights. Oh my f*cking god. How did Lambert miss the net with that? So much power behind it when all he needed to do was get it on target. How did Lallana not get that header on target?? How did Fonte allow Austin to wrap his foot around his body to get the shot in for their goal???!?!? Should've and could've won judging by that.
  6. Happy with that. We are top o'the League said we are top o'the league!
  7. I think CMS misses more chances than he scores. I think Barnard is a better finisher and a very similar type of player, that said, he doesn't have Craig's pace.
  8. Didn't Holmes cross to Lallana for the winner from the right wing? The lad has a decent right peg on him and I think he has the potential to be a good player. The thing is, we are progressing too fast up the leagues for him to be given a real chance here.
  9. Best goal scored: Guly's half volley vs Brum Best Champagne moment: Lallana making ex-premierleague right-back Paintsil fall over with his skills, feigning and close control Best game so far: Leeds (first game back in the Championship and we made everyone's preseason prediction for the playoffs look like mugs Best player at this stage: Cork Most Improved player: Richardson
  10. Yes, I was there. I still think he did nothing.
  11. All mellor did was head the ball a few times. No improvement on Forte by all accounts

And Cork it's what makes Twitter worthwhile.
  13. NC said that even if the Liebherrs did sell, he had several wealthy contacts who could all take over the reigns, IIRC
  14. Sad. Just another example of how hatred can spread down generations.
  15. I'm going if possible, and I'll take a couple of flares (they're yellow) :/.
  16. You mean, he could've died??
  17. Just ignore him, he craves attention seemingly. And I too am f*cked off this'll be on Sunday. I purposely arranged my contract to avoid clashes with football, and then they go and move it onto my work Sunday.
  18. £3? That is massive. My god, that is huge. I can understand how that could greatly cripple your financial condition. Best to avoid paying that at all costs mate.
  19. I really don't understand this desperation to overstate the quality of Pardew's tenure here. It would've been a fantastic job if he had led us to the playoffs (bearing in mind Leeds got to the playoffs with a -17 deduction), and had managed to maintain a good relationship with Cortese (vital to keep a good relationship with the Chairman as a modern day manager). As it was, Pardew did a good job. Not spectacular, but a good, solid job of rebuilding our club. He built the foundations for Adkins, I agree with that part of your post.
  20. Personally I think it speaks volumes about our club.
  21. Hopefully Radhi's still got 'it'. Looked dodgy pre-season, so maybe he's losing his legs a bit as time progresses. We as a team need a new dominant CB, as does Jose. Maybe Jos will be that man, who knows. Fonte won't look as good until he has a regular CB partner and regular starters in defence. Plus, as has been said, he's playing against tougher strikers now. Of course someone of his talent would look miles and miles above in class when playing against players of the calibre of Odejayi.
  22. Woosh.
  23. Lambert.
  24. Is it just me that feels sorry for Mitchell after watching the video on TomCoull's twitter feed? Bournemouth fans are a bunch of mongs.
  25. I think some people are going OTT. The defensive issues, in my view, came from Fox being far too central. He needed to push out onto the wing to ensure they didn't have as much space. The amount of space they were getting on his wing was incredibly disappointing. This can be said about Cork's side too, but he's not a RB by trade. Hooiveld was very composed and I can see him fitting in with Nigel's style well. Some of his headers went a bit askew, some not far enough and put us under pressure at times. The other defensive issue was general loss of concentration and bad marking. We let them slide the ball through so so easily on several occasions. Dissapointing. Lallana was quality considering how quickly he was closed down. Guly was great as well, gave the ball away a few times but his workrate is top notch. Lambert obviously gets praise for his hattrick and winning us the game, but for me he seemed a bit slow to get into the area. We need him in there getting on the end of crosses more. Still, he played well and will become a Southampton great when he retires under Nigel's guidance. Davis pulled off some WORLD CLASS saves to keep us in it. Thank god for super Kelv. Connolly was rusty and a bit off the pace, which is weird considering his previous form. Only reason we came under pressure/ looked like conceding was lack of pressure on their players, something we have been generally good at. This coupled with poor fullback positioning led to some very nervy periods. BUT WE HELD ON AND GOT THE THREE POINTS AFTER GOING A GOAL DOWN. COYS
