Agreed.
-
Ah it's that should again - Plymouth should have had a goal allowed... shoulda, woulda, coulda.
-
Medical emergency delays restart of second half for Ipswich.
-
The latter. Hth.
-
Brain fart, move on. Even Allison has made similar gaffs. It happens.
-
Wouldn't have mattered if our plethora of decent chances were converted, right? So yeah, overall pretty fucking lucky, old Plymouth.
-
It was pretty fucking convincing. Its not like we were passing it between our defenders, we had multiple chances to increase our goal tally. It was dominant.
-
Their header wasn't a goal, because it was offside? So you can't really call it an 'offside goal'
-
Silly mistake but that was a fucking breeze. Easy and dominant. Should have scored more but Plymouth got fucking lucky. UTS
-
For Smallbone, yeah?
-
Don't waste a fucking tenner. You may as well burn it.
-
Still on track for this.
-
Nah, it'll be straightforward. Keep the faith.
-
It was a pre-emptive request, Ant.

Please don't make this thread a moan-fest. It's going to be a breeze. In 0-0 at the break having kept possession well and cut them apart a couple of times. 4-0 having worn them down by 90 mins. Cmon lads.
-
Quite a few feeling unconfident? Come on now, that's a fucking strong team at this level. We should be winning with ease.
-
Fan complacency doesn't affect the players though. I've been rightly informed that fans have no impact on the outcome of matches or the performance of players. In that light... ... we've got tonight in the fucking bag. I'm changing my prediction. 4-0 Saints. Over 70% possession. Arma and Edozie to score. Easy.

I read that as some sort of pre-emptive naval strike on their town, ala Francis Drake's raid on Cadiz.

Go and sit on row A in Block 35 then if you don't reckon there can be poor views in IKEA quick-built modern stadia. You think we should roll out the red carpet for away fans, eh? Give them a great experience? Fair enough.
-
That's exactly it. We want away fans to be treated like shite, have a poor view, and not be able to direct their support/animosity towards a goal area, affecting either our keeper or 'sucking the ball into the net', as that old commentator's phrase goes.

You just never know.

Interesting. Would work well for them if they have excellent wing-backs that are pacey and have high stamina. If they employ that formation as low-lying and defensive, then it may well prove tricky for us to unpick them. It also might set us up to concede to their 5 attacking players (wingbacks included) via counter-attacks, which we are still somewhat vulnerable to, especially from our own corners! If, however, they 'go for it' and have their wingbacks pushing high as attacking wingers consistently, then it could be a fun game for Edozie on the wing. Will be interesting from a tactical viewpoint to see what they go for.
-
The away fans should never be directly behind the goal. Makes no sense. I think of Everton, Leicester, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth. All of these clubs (and more) place the away fans in the stands at the side of the pitch.

Blimey, looking back at a couple of my posts. Embarrassing. 'Why prolong the inevitable?' I posted at one point during the 4-loss streak, regarding Russell being sacked! Well, I'm glad my thoughts then have turned out as utter rubbish, and that Russell stayed after that blip. In the first two months I remember commenting frequently on how easy we were to cut apart as a defensive unit. The Norwich, Sunderland and Leicester games spring to mind. Thankfully, now we seem sturdier and harder to cut through. Well done Russell.

Erm, we have Sulemana?
