Wrong way to go, I think. Both Lallana and Ings have wages that would set us back for very little on-field reward. Also, the two would probably profess their Saintly love, which would make me feel a bit sick given their clear propensity to consider football to be a line of work, a career to garner capital and fame, and for the 'connection' to their roots to matter little. Be clear, I'm not saying footballers should love one club and stay at that club for life. I'm merely saying I would hate for them to feel the need to pretend they hold such 'loyalties' as important.

So interesting to hear that. At first I felt Leeds' fans were clearly louder. That did seem to dissipate after our goal. From my point of view I kept looking around to see lots of our lot pretty silent indeed. Glad it didn't come across that way to the opposition!

Very similar experience. Many were there to sit in silence and watch. Sporadic and infrequent, if at all, is how I'd describe the vocal support around me in blocks 548/547/546/545. The celebrations at the end were good, though. A shame, overall, because it seemed to me that the Leeds end were almost entirely stood up and singing (until we scored!)

Apparently Lambo was there too, alongside a fair few other ex Saints players.

Is it because they are envious and jealous of Pompey, the biggest club in Britain, a sleeping giant; with fans that could sell out the entirety of Wembley twice over, and make more noise than any other fanbase?
