I oft reflect on this matter as a teacher. Children very frequently support the big teams, often because they aren't exposed to regular live football at local clubs by their parents. Instead they get their 'football fix' from football video games, Sky Sports, Match of the Day and so on. They like to see goals and wins, so support the 'best' clubs. As a result, there is very little loyalty or meaning behind their support. That's why us Saints fans are dye-in-the-wool steadfasts who feel a real affinity for our club and fellow fans.

We need to use Dibling much more this season, he seems to have bulked up a bit too.

Agreed, his keeping in the PL was abysmal. Look at some of the goals we conceded. Dreadful.

I think our defensive record sets us up for these sorts of opinions. We've done little to address those concerns apart from buying an aging relegated LB (good buy IMO, but probably not the average fan of other clubs), a decent looking RB, an average CB from Swansea and a promising young CB from Peterborough. Not exactly screaming defensive solidity.
