Ahhhh, if this guy's tweeting it it's got to be true tbh.

Just let him go and take the cash. Let's move on from the lad. Saw his chance at the big time and grabbed it, can't blame him for that. Who should we buy to replace him?

£4m swoop for Burnley duo Rodriguez and Fox?
sfc4prem replied to modern matron's topic in The Saints
As long as fox is better than what we have at LB then i'm happy. It would only be odd if he wasn't better than Harding and Dickson. And judging by Fox's, Harding's and Dickson's FIFA ratings, Fox is indeed better. We need to be always looking for improvement. Fox has play and scored in the PL for Burnley. -
F*cking quality today wasn't he?!? Ran his socks off, great passing, got stuck in with challenges left right and centre, won a fair few headers, worked well with Cork and obviously scored an absolute f000kin screamer. Fully deserves his place ahead of Morgan ATM, though we did go 4-3-3 with Chaplow-Cork-Schneiderlin and De Ridder Lambert and Lallana up top. Maybe that's the formation we'll be playing, but with Hammond, Schneiderlin and Cork as the midfield three.

Fox is better than what we have at LB, which is how we go about our signings - ones that improve on what we have currently. Rodriguez would be a quality signing - pace, skill, vision and a great finish. -
Hehe, that's a quality program cover!! Genuinely seems like a decent bloke after watching a few interviews on Saints Player, especially the Markus tribute one. To those slating him for being "an egotistical t*sser", when else has he acted in any way that could be deemed as looking for publicity or attention. In my opinion he's kept himself behind closed doors, and much of our activity as well. If you want an egotistical chairman to slate, f*ck off to Peterborough. Cortese's doing a good job and this is purely a picture of him as the program features a lengthy "Chairman's notes" section.

Sounds like an odd character with a high self opinion, could have easily disrupted squad harmony and it's probably for the best that we pulled out of the deal. Besides, he would be an unknown quantity in this league, and the Swiss league isn't exactly the strongest.

really?

You'll probably have someone smack you one if they see you doing that. You're in the minority mate.

I think you've hit the nail on the head. The sort of guy who acts the big "I am" to mask his own disappointment and insecurities.
-
If 22k is proven to be correct, I think some people previously saying we could get 40k need to get a reality check.
-
22k is really, really poor. I mean, we've just been promoted to the Championship, and less people turn up than when we played Brighton on a dark midweek evening in November?? Awful.

Nah but you only have to analyse the highlights of the 2 goals by West Brom, Seaborne wasn't where he should have been on either occasion, if he'd have been adequate for the first goal the cross wouldn't have come in, true Bart shouldn't have let is go though. Second goal you can clearly see Fonte bolliking Seaborne for his laxism. How some find him adequate I just can't see. A CB like a GK has to be perfect for 90+ minutes, one slip is all that some of the hotshots we'll soon be facing need. Seaborne was at LB for the second goal.

Hammond/Barnard/Dickson/Chamberlain all missing today

he recently changed his pic and tweeter 3 hours ago. Hth -
Forte is a good player, don't know why some slate him on here.

Commentary on Yeovil player?

You loser

Was Mills any good?

Oh, and Guly was great, some quality passes and great tenacity and spirit.

Seaborne was impressive today. Don't understand why some don't rate him. Intercepted countless passes and won the majority of headers. Played some delightful balls forward as well, some of them were Schneiderlin-esque. On that performance I'd say that Seaborne and Fonte are the current CB first choice pairing. That nay change, obviously, if we sign another CB. De Ridder was quality, tricks, pace, linked up with Butterfield well all despite having two players on him whenever he received the ball. Chamberlain was brilliant, had their players chasing shadows and also showed great tenacity and team spirit - for example he chased down one of their players from his position on the right across the pitch. Seems to have a great mindset. He wants to play PL football ASAP but seems a real pro and i'm certain won't "do a Puncheon" if Arsenal don't conjure up a respectable bid. Lambert was VERY rusty, but got into it toward the end culminating in his classic Lambo header. Sure he'll get better with more playing time. Cork was great, him and Morgan worked well together, both really class, but I'd like to see him play with Hammond/Chaplow before making a judgement on the first choice pairing. Butterfield and Richardson fairly well matched - Richardson has all the physical attributes, Butterfield the knowledge and vision. Butterfield's crossing was great though. Lallana was quiet, marked well, though he did have a few great runs as we're used to seeing from him. Connolly was tireless and threw himself about well, always making runs and looking for options. He was fairly well dominated though by their beastly defender. All in all a promising performance.

Bit of football-rumours to keep the juices flowing...

I think it might be because most fans support their team for pleasure, and naturally don't want to hear anything negative emanating from the club - There's life to do that job for you.
-
We need 2 strikers then.

I still feel like it's my club :/
