  1. Indeed after reading some threads on the main board I think you are correct. It isn't just several it's actually lots.
  2. Ultracrepidarian Clue:- There are several forum members to whom this word applies
  3. Not me young man, past History tells all of Southampton to beware of the French. 1982 did it for me with the Argentinians. I have nothing against the Dutch, and I really like the Polish people.
  4. Just tell them Saints wanted money instead of players, they will understand that as some Scots are nearly as money crazy as the Welsh.
  5. A link to the proof would be good Bearsy BUT somehow ........
  6. Whilst my heart agrees with those who say let him rot in the reserves etc something in my head says that legally Saints are unable to do so. I am sure that the PFA could take Saints to Court claiming that in doing that it is a restraint of trade or something. Saints can't even get away with having him on the bench and only bringing him on in the last minute either for a similar reason. I don't think Saints can keep fining him either as the PFA will go to Court about that as well. Sad to say but if a real large money club ( Man City ) couldn't win against Tevez what hope do Saints have ? Finally I have never trusted the French ( my late father who was in the RN in WW2 also trusted the Germans more that the French ) or Argentinians either come to that.
  7. Pink Floyd, Hollywood Bowl September 1972.
  8. A little bit underpaid IMHO considering the hours and traveling involved.
  9. OR They can't do ANYTHING to re-gain it as they never had it, except for tin foil hat wearing hand wringers. How about a poll ?
  10. Hey Norm, great photos thank you but here's a thought - why don't YOU start that photo thread ? Don't leave stuff for the mods to do though as one or two are a bit "different" I suppose I better point out that I was trying to make a joke about mods just to ease some of the tension on this whole forum.
  11. Planning committee member Councillor Hugh Mason said: ‘I don’t think any of us feel wholly comfortable with this but I think we recognise that it needs to go forward.’ I wonder IF some large gentlemen have made Mr Mason aware that they know where he lives ????
  12. By NICOLE PERLROTH and DAVID GELLES | The New York Times A Russian crime ring has amassed the largest known collection of stolen Internet credentials, including 1.2 billion username and password combinations and more than 500 million email addresses, security researchers say. The records, discovered by Hold Security, a firm in Milwaukee, include confidential material gathered from 420,000 websites, ranging from household names to small Internet sites. Hold Security has a history of uncovering significant hacks, including the theft last year of tens of millions of records from Adobe Systems. “Hackers did not just target U.S. companies, they targeted any website they could get, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to very small websites,” said Alex Holden, the founder and chief information security officer of Hold Security. “And most of these sites are still vulnerable.” “They audited the Internet,” Mr. Holden said. It was not clear, however, how computers were infected with the botnet in the first place. By July, criminals were able to collect 4.5 billion records — each a username and password — though many overlapped. After sorting through the data, Hold Security found that 1.2 billion of those records were unique. Because people tend to use multiple emails, they filtered further and found that the criminals’ database included about 542 million unique email addresses. “Most of these sites are still vulnerable,” said Mr. Holden, emphasizing that the hackers continue to exploit the vulnerability and collect data. Mr. Holden said his team had begun alerting victimized companies to the breaches, but had been unable to reach every website. He said his firm was also trying to come up with an online tool that would allow individuals to securely test for their information in the database. https://nz.finance.yahoo.com/news/russian-gang-amasses-over-billion-201533714.html .
  13. Saints fans to me are now like passengers on a heavier than air machine which is now taking off for a flight without quite enough fuel to get to their destination. The flight crew haven't even worked out a plan for if they have to divert to another airport because they have been promised mid-air refuelling. They are so sure that all will be ok because a nice bloke has just told them it will be.
  14. I think that Ralph is just repeating what he has been told by others at the club. I also think that he actually believes what he says hence why to some he comes across as a genuine person. However I am an old cynic and I learned many years ago that actions speak louder than any words that someone spouts.
  15. Well IF he isn't sold he should be around all season and not missing for a few weeks in early 2015.
  16. I thought you were going to quote Harold Macmillan from a speech in 1957 when I saw the thread title. http://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/hi/dates/stories/july/20/newsid_3728000/3728225.stm http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/h/harold_macmillan.html

  18. Well according to a book about MH 370to be released in the next few days:- Through a process of elimination, we were left with the uncomfortable and very tragic likelihood that Zaharie - because of some personality disorder, depression or emotional breakdown - killed himself and everyone on the aircraft deliberately." The authors believe Zaharie probably shut his co-pilot, Fariq Hamid, out of the cockpit, then closed off all communication and turned the aircraft around. He depressurised the aircraft and, once the cabin crew and passengers' oxygen had run out, they died from hypoxia. The book cites the fact that pilot suicide has killed hundreds of people in recent decades, and the authors call for tighter scrutiny of pilot stress levels and more openness about mental health issues in the cockpit. They are also critical of some Muslim countries' reluctance to acknowledge pilots' role in murder/suicide.** "Muslims don't commit suicide seems to be the common refrain,"** says Taylor, deputy editor of the Waikato Times. "Well, they do, and surely the travelling public deserve better than that." - Waikato Times http://www.stuff.co.nz/world/asia/10340542/Disturbed-pilot-took-MH370-passengers-to-ocean-grave-authors-claim ** I thought that Muslims used suicide bombers to kill people ???? .
  19. To me it looks like Israel has some very, very, very damaging info about the U.S. that would literally destroy the U.S. if the U.S. doesn't do what Israel tells it to do. The U.S. appears to be sh*t scared of Israel just like a mouse is scared by a large cat. Israel have even attacked and killed U.S. servicemen in International waters and the U.S. refused to protect that U.S. ship even though they could have done.
  20. Oh dear I wonder how much longer this Russian soldier will live ? A Russian soldier's goofy selfies posted online may have proved that his country's military is operating in eastern Ukraine illicitly. Alexander "Sanya" Sotkin, 24, has posted photographs on Instagram of himself wearing a military uniform pulling faces and appearing to sit in an armoured personnel carrier. Unknown to him, his iPad automatically geotagged him with GPS coordinates, with Buzzfeed revealing that he was actually in Ukraine on July 5. Buzzfeed reported Sotkin was in the village of Krasna Derkul on the same day Ukraine reported mortar strikes on border positions. Five days ago Sotkin posted another image in which he claimed to be inside a Buk missile launcher, the same piece of weaponry believed to be responsible for the MH17 plane crash. "Sitting around, working on a Buk, listening to music, basically a good Sunday," he wrote alongside images of him posing and flashing a gang sign. Buzzfeed writes that Instagram's geolocating tool is highly accurate. 21. Deleted because it was over the top.
  22. on Argentina as they might very well have a trip to the Falklands again. "Argentina, the South American nation whose wealth was once destined to rival Australia’s, is looking to avoid a second technical default in a month on repayments to a group of bondholders who exchanged old debt for new, discounted securities after the country’s history-making US$95 billion default in 2001." Link to this very interesting article:- http://www.smh.com.au/business/vultures-again-circle-as-argentina-faces-possible-default-crisis-20140730-zyh6m.html#ixzz38vY2u7Bb They might try and take the populations mind off this like they did in 1982, I have never trusted them since that day. However IF they do will the UK Govt do anything to fight it ? I have my doubts somehow.
  23. Yes I noticed that whilst watching the TV. I also found it a bit strange that it started on a Sunday when If it had to start at a weekend why not on the Saturday ? Was it because the ECB and Hampshire top bods don't appear to like each other and they didn't want Hampshire to get as much benefit ?
  24. As someone who believes in "Karma" perhaps we ought to ease up on that lot a bit ? Well only until our own lot sort themselves out that is.
