  1. I think that this should be the last time it is re-newed as by the time it's out of date again I feel the money then saved will be better used combating the future threats as mentioned above by others. Of course if the UK Govt. stopped wasting so much money on aiding foreign Govts a lot more money would be available for UK use now.
  2. Your post says:- "It's definitely either Big Ron Atkinson, Little Martin Allen or a mystery third person who I'm not going to tell you the name of but is definitely one person" Cheeky so and so as that's not really a true ITK post is it? So sorry but IMHO you don't qualify for any points let alone 10.
  3. Err Matt Le Tissier is on Rickie's right ( thought I would say that before a real pedantic sod did ) Anyway back to the point, like Disco Stu says IF he retires when with Saints then yes put him on the banner. However I seem to remember a campaign to get a certain ex manager up there and that didn't happen so I won't be holding my breath.
  4. I was in the supermarket earlier today and the cashier asked the Polish couple in front if they wanted any help packing their bags. I thought crikey, we only voted 2 days ago, give them a chance.
  5. And look at how brilliant England have done in the past few years.
  6. I think that the Board are taking so long as they are trying to gain the courage to approach another South Coast club to ask about their manager. Yes I am talking about the great Paul Cook from Pompey !!! I am of course joking and just trying to bring a smile during this worrying time .
  7. Russia would like Manuel Pellegrini to be their next manager, and have offered the former Manchester City boss a lucrative contract. (AS - in Spanish) On the BBC rumours page
  8. Must be my old age but something that I find quite astonishing is the report that the Russian thugs are doing a Nazi arm in the air salute.Frankly I am a bit surprised that Putins lot let that happen when you remember how many Russians were killed by the Germans in WW2. Coupled with the fact that Russians do tend to hold a grudge and have very long memories. About 3 years ago I had some Russian tourists on board my coach and they were a bit arrogant and noisy until I mentioned the fact that my father was on RN ships escorting convoys to Murmansk during The Great Patriotic War. That made them a lot quieter as they remembered what their parents and grand parents had told them about WW2.
  9. Surprised a so called big club ( yeah rite ) have gone for a manager who didn't do very well in Europe last season. Oh hang on that doesn't matter as the big club isn't in Europe this coming season is it.:D:D
  10. "As they have demonstrated by uniting to save their club and fighting off the people who contributed to driving it to the brink of liquidation,Pompey fans are not quitters". Pity the last club didn't do the same for the small businesses and charity then. “Late payment threatens a small business’ ability to grow and sometimes even survive. When Portsmouth FC faced financial difficulties a few years ago, there were many small businesses in the area that ended up not getting paid."
  11. I see an ex Saints manager has agreed with Mr Koeman - bet that is very reassuring for him "Former Southampton and Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp believes footballers are too distracted by technology. The Derby County football advisor agreed with comments from Southampton boss Ronald Koeman that lifestyle changes mean players talk less. Koeman revealed he holds communication sessions, focused on how social media, mobile phones and headphones put players "in their own world." "There's not the communication there used to be," said Redknapp, 69. Redknapp, who has also managed West Ham, Portsmouth, Bournemouth and QPR, told BBC Radio 5 live: "You don't hear people go round and talk to each other. It doesn't happen. They sit with their headphones on". He just has to jump on any bandwagon doesn't he. :mcinnes: http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/36031181
  12. I have just read this and I am very shocked and saddened by this news. Never met her face to face but we had several PM and e-mail "conversations" over the years.:( R.I.P. Jill
  13. I thought this quote summed up "The Left" extremely well. "The Tories are lucky that the official opposition is about as competent as a blind drunk driver" http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/conservative/12199009/IDS-has-made-Osbornes-downfall-a-certainty.html
  14. I wonder what will happen now? The Russian, 28, tested positive for meldonium, a substance she has been taking since 2006 for health issues. Sharapova, a five-time Grand Slam champion, is provisionally suspended from 12 March pending further action. "I did fail the test and take full responsibility for it," said Sharapova, who won the Wimbledon title as a 17-year-old in 2004. "For the past 10 years I have been given a medicine called mildronate by my doctor, my family doctor, and a few days ago after I received the letter from the ITF [international Tennis Federation] I found out it also has another name of meldonium, which I did not know." http://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/35750285
  15. So what are your thoughts on next season with the following being announced? Only one team will be promoted from Division Two of the County Championship this summer in order to reduce the number of top-tier teams in 2017. A top division of eight teams will be introduced next year, down from nine, with 10 counties in the second. Each county will now play 14 games rather than 16, while the Royal London One-Day Cup moves to early season. http://www.bbc.com/sport/cricket/35744204

  17. I have copied and pasted the following from just one other website as these men have put what I feel better than I could. "The Iraqis built it, the SIS wanted to control the region let them sort it out. Japan did not run a fund raising to cover the damage of the tsunami on their nuclear plant". "All these WORLD disasters whether man made or natural or due to war are a WORLD problem not a European responsibility. Merkel made a massive mistake opening the gates to millions of refugees from Syria one we will now pay for for decades to come! Until a true World organisation with clout and decisive Action is formed and a strong policy on how to sort any world disaster then the soft touch, cannot agree Europeans, will continue creating problems for themselves by taking on responsibility which should be shared and by making weak decisions which are not to our benefit or the refugees benefit long term". "If a dam in Iraq is faulty, why is it our problem? Is every damn thing our problem? If a dam in Scotland is faulty, is anyone in Iraq going to 'give a' "? "It's about time we let these guys look after themselves, or are we going to nursemaid them until the end of time....?" "They don't want us until they can't handle, then it's all Sob City".
  18. Could well be that this is a one off but just in case check your babies car seats. A New Zealand company is pulling a Chinese-made car seat from the market after a 9-month-old girl toppled head first out of a buckled restraint manufactured by overseas company, 1st Care. There is a video to watch if you click on the link. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/rotorua-daily-post/news/article.cfm?c_id=1503438&objectid=11597608 Now before anyone says it doesn't apply to the UK as that was in NZ remember Chinese stuff is sold everywhere. It is also a good idea to check car seats anyway after they have been used a few times. I have posted this in here rather than the motoring section as hopefully more people will see this warning.
  19. Lots of folk are up in arms about the advert video for this - have a look but WARNING it shows women in small bathing suits. https://au.sports.yahoo.com/cricket/video/watch/30942497/mike-whitney-stars-in-sexist-gold-coast-sixes-ad/#page1 https://nz.sports.yahoo.com/cricket/a/30942551/gold-coast-sixes-mike-whitney-ad-sexism-backlash/ .
  20. I wonder how long it will be before a huggy fluffie leftie comes along and calls us racists or some other names none of which will actually apply. How long before people make politicians realise that those immigrants will destroy the U.K.? Eventually even protected politicians along, with huggy fluffie lefties, will also suffer like the normal decent UK people but it will be too late to do anything then.
  21. Does anyone really honestly believe that the original cold war had actually stopped completely? Everyone has always continued spying and probing etc on everyone else, the only difference is that in the West it was on a reduced scale. In the East it was not reduced as much.
  22. I see that the Echo won't allow you to read their online version if you use Ad-block. You have to disable it first, I did that but as I also use Ghostery I still don't get many adverts. Also some websites don't allow you to read "comments" unless you disable Ghostery so I do disable it but only temporally but then never click on any adverts that appear.
  23. Well I tried some and they were a lot better than I thought that they would be.
  24. Anyone tried them yet as apparently they are "New" over here?
