  8. of these things are really playing strange games http://www.nwrage.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=8&page=1 Just one example Frog Potato A chemical that South American frogs excrete from their skin could protect potatoes and other crops from a range of diseases, according to biotechnologists in Canada. Researchers at the University of Victoria inserted a modified frog gene into potato plants to make them produce the chemical. The genetically modified (GM) potatoes showed resistance to infection by a broad range of disease-causing fungi and bacteria, including those responsible for diseases such as dry rot, late blight and pink rot. Different species of frog produce different sets of chemicals, including some called dermaseptins, from their skin depending on the environmentthey inhabit. The chemicals help protect frogs from bacteria and other 'pathogens'.

  10. John Mac will "win" as according to Rolling Stone magazine the fix is allready in place. http://www.gregpalast.com/rolling-stone-its-already-stolen/#more-2118 While Obama dreams of riding to the White House on a wave of new voters, more then 2.7 million have had their registrations REJECTED under new procedures signed into law by George Bush. Kennedy, a voting rights lawyer, charges this is a resurgence of 'Jim Crow' tactics to wrongly block Black and Hispanic voters. - A fired US prosecutor levels new charges - accusing leaders of his own party, Republicans, with criminal acts in an attempt to block legal voters as "fraudulent." - Digging through government records, the Kennedy-Palast team discovered that, in 2004, a GOP scheme called "caging” ultimately took away the rights of 1.1 million voters. The Rolling Stone duo predict that, this November 4, it will be far worse.

  15. Thinking back quite a few years ago I realise how lucky I was not to have been caught by the morning after thing. I was so so stupid a few times. Over here DD is hated but with weak laws such as in the article below I do despair at times From the NZ Govt Land Transport website:- Drink-driving is considered a serious offence and carries tough penalties, especially for repeat offenders. Third and subsequent offenders face maximum fines of $6,000, prison terms of up to two years, and a one year minimum disqualification from driving. If you cause injury or death while drink-driving, you can be fined up to $10,000 for driving carelessly while under the influence (no breath or blood test needed); and up to $20,000 where a breath or blood-alcohol test shows you were over the limit. Detained at home for repeat drunk-driving 05.02.2008 COURT DIGEST A WESTERN Bay man caught driving drunk twice in three months, and who already had three prior convictions for drink driving and three for refusing to give blood, will be imprisoned in his own home for nine months. Brian Rikirangi, 47, who earlier pleaded guilty to two charges of driving with an excess breath alcohol, one charge each of driving while forbidden and giving police false details and breach of bail, was sentenced in Tauranga District Court yesterday. Judge Christopher Harding told Rikirangi that he was teetering on the edge of a prison sentence. Rikirangi was disqualified from driving for two years and is subject to a raft of special release conditions for six months after his home detention ends, including him attending drug and alcohol counselling.

  19. LONDON (AFP) - Squeamish men look away now: a Serbian chef is bringing out Thursday a no-holds-barred guide to cuisine with a twist: "The Testicle Cookbook: Cooking With Balls." Hailed as the world's first testicle recipe collection by e-book publishers YUDU, the cookbook includes author Ljubomir Erovic's favourite dishes, like testicle pizza, battered testicles and and barbecued testicles and giblets. The e-book, available for download from the Internet, comes with handy video guides showing the Serb peeling the skin off testicles and slicing them up into bite-size chunks. Several different animals, including stallions, ostriches, bulls, pigs and turkeys, get the Erovic treatment. "Wash testicles thoroughly for 30-45 minutes," begins the recipe for testicles pie. "Once softened, mince them in a mincer." A "very sharp knife" is needed for traditional style testicles, which get boiled, cut up and deep fried in hot oil. Erovic, 45, may be self-taught in the art of testicle cuisine but his 20 years of "cooking with balls" make him a world authority in the field. "The tastiest testicles in my opinion probably come from bulls, stallions or ostriches, although other people have their own favourites," he said. "All testicles can be eaten -- except human, of course." Testicles are rich in testosterone and they are believed to be a powerful aphrodisiac in countries such as Serbia and China. "The best for aphrodisiac properties are sheep and stallion testicles", said Erovic. And with the credit crunch kicking in, more people may give up their rump steaks and turn to testicles instead. Erovic also organises the World Testicle Cooking Championship, held annually in Serbia since 2004. It draws in chefs from Australia, Bosnia-Hercegovina, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Norway and Serbia. One metric tonne of testicles are prepared. "When not cooking or eating testicles, or helping others to do so, (Erovic) now runs a company involved in the maintenance of medical and dental equipment," the book said.
  20. Sorry Ponty but if Scooby starts using that ridiculous name for Mr Crouch I ask for him to be banned. Also if people call Mr Lowe and even Mr Wilde stupid names I think they should be bannished as well. There is no need for any of that type of name calling IMHO
