  1. Ruthless Quotas at Amazon Are Permanently Maiming Employees This holiday season, Amazon will move millions of packages at dizzying speed. Internal injury reports suggest all that convenience is coming at the expense of worker safety. https://www.msn.com/en-nz/news/world/ruthless-quotas-at-amazon-are-permanently-maiming-employees/ar-BBXnbB9
  2. Oh well obviously no one wanted to meet me in person then. Can't say that I blame them  Very pleased New Zealand won yesterday, even more bad news for England it's raining in Tauranga today.
  3. Today ( Sunday ) whilst watching the Test at Tauranga on TV I noticed a Southampton flag so I was wondering if it was anyone who posts on Saintsweb?
  4. I know President Trump is disliked by some for his ideas but he can't hold a candle to this really special person. On Saturday, San Francisco voters elected the son of two former Weather Underground murderers to serve as their District Attorney. As district attorney, Boudin plans to decriminalize crime and close down jails. He believes the criminal justice system is racist, and he plans to cut back on the time criminals serve under parole supervision, which he thinks is also racist. Boudin also wants to stop prosecuting gang members to the full extent of the law because he thinks that's racist, too. Boudin plans to hand out U-Visas to immigrants like candy. U-Visas were originally meant for immigrants who could aid in the prosecution of crimes, but now they are rampantly misused and Boudin vows to misuse them even more. Boudin thinks every illegal alien is the victim of a crime committed by ICE and President Trump, so every immigrant will get a visa. Boudin also wants to advocate on behalf of anyone in the United States facing deportation, including aliens who murdered cops like his parents did. Boudin was endorsed by socialist Bernie Sanders, which somehow makes him seem less radical. But he isn't. Just when you think it isn't possible, San Francisco gets a whole lot crazier. https://townhall.com/tipsheet/bronsonstocking/2019/11/10/radical-son-of-cop-killing-terrorists-wins-san-francisco-da-race-n2556228 .
  5. I predict Nathan Lyon will be the man.
  6. A pretty little girl named Suzy was standing on the pavement in front of her home. Next to her was a basket containing a number of tiny creatures; in her hand was a sign announcing FREE KITTENS. Suddenly a line of big cars pulled up beside her. Out of the lead car stepped a grinning man. "Hi there little girl, I'm the leader of the Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn. What do you have in the basket?" he asked. "Kittens," little Suzy said. "How old are they?" asked Corbyn. Suzy replied, "They're so young, their eyes aren't even open yet." "And what kind of kittens are they?" "Labour supporters," answered Suzy with a smile. Corbyn was delighted. As soon as he returned to his car, he called his PR chief and told him about the little girl and the kittens. Recognizing the perfect photo op, the two of them agreed that he should return the next day; and in front of the assembled media, have the girl talk about her discerning kittens. So the next day, Suzy was again standing on the pavement with her basket of "FREE KITTENS," when another motorcade pulled up, this time followed by vans from BBC, ITV, ABC, CNN and Sky News. Cameras and audio equipment were quickly set up, then Corbyn got out of his car and walked over to little Suzy. "Hello, again," he said, "I'd love it if you would tell all my friends out there what kind of kittens you're giving away." "Yes Sir," Suzy said. "They're Conservative supporters." Taken by surprise, Jeremy stammered, "But...but...yesterday, you told me they were LABOUR SUPPORTERS." Little Suzy smiled and said, "I know. But today, they have their eyes open."
  7. A very, very long article about problems caused by Boeing management over the years. At the start there is a link for you to listen rather than take time to read this article. https://newrepublic.com/article/154944/boeing-737-max-investigation-indonesia-lion-air-ethiopian-airlines-managerial-revolution
  8. My fault I shouldn't upset people during their time of the month. You big girls blouse.
  9. Talking of live MLS I see Josh Sims is playing at the moment and so is Rooney. The talking heads have just this second mentioned him and Southampton.
  10. To all the good people talking about the 70's and 80's, you do realise that things have changed somewhat during those 40 - 50 years?
  11. I was told on the 26th that some bas*ards are already trying to steal money by phoning people up and claiming to be sorting out refunds from TC. All you have to do is give them your full CC or other Bank details. I hope no-one gets caught but I rather suspect some will.
  12. I remember in the old days when you could bring up a list of who had posted in this thread and how many posts they had made. Is this still possible only I have forgotten how to do it? ( old age is a b*tch )
  13. Well according to the map in this BBC article most of Portsmouth and a large part of Southampton have deprived areas. It only seems to be mainly based but not completely on financial reasons. I must admit I was a bit surprised at the extent of the problem but then I haven't lived in the U.K. for quite a long time, only gone back for holidays. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-49812519
  14. Paul Gardner Allen of Microsoft fame.
  15. Here is part of an article written by Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center. Make of it what you will. Around the same time that the media was focused on the mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton, 60 people were shot in Chicago over the weekend. 24 of those people were shot in four hours. Baltimore reached its 200th murder victim of the year during its “Ceasefire Weekend”. 4 people were killed in 4 days in Kansas City. 6 men were shot in Philly during the filming of a rap video. Even in Toronto, 15 people were wounded in shootings over the weekend. Over 350 people have been shot this year in the Canadian city which has gun control, no NRA, and none of the usual excuses. Looking at the data from the Mass Shooting Tracker, widely utilized by the media, as of this writing, of the 72 mass shooters, perpetrators in shootings that killed or wounded 4 or more people, whose race is known, 21 were white, 37 were black, 8 were Latino, and 6 were members of other groups. 51% of mass shooters in 2019 were black, 29% were white, and 11% were Latino. Three mass shooters were Asian, two were American Indian and one was Arab. These numbers are if anything vastly understated. As many as half of the mass shootings that took place in 2019 thus far remain unsolved, but they often took place in black areas and claimed black victims. White people make up 61% of the country’s population, followed by Hispanics at 17.8%, and African-Americans at 12.7%. In that context, white people are actually dramatically under represented among mass shooters, as are Latinos, while African-Americans are highly over represented. .
  16. Perhaps Saints just need a much better goalkeeping coach? You know one who will improve them rather than what appears to have been happening with all 3 gradually getting worse.
  17. I am probably behind the times (yet again - I know ) but I have just caught up with an American TV comedy that I found very funny but a bit crude in places. It's called "I'm Sorry" by Andrea Savage. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5987254/ .
  18. The correct link for my BMW parking post. I have no idea how the link in April appeared as it wasn't mine.
  19. https://driving.ca/tesla/features/feature-story/motor-mouth-tesla-is-literally-going-up-in-flames Teslas going up in flames are fairly regular news nowadays, even if the Internet seems always amused, often amazed and sometimes downright terrified at the pyrotechnics Elon Musk’s lithium-ions can produce with seeming spontaneity. Now, to be sure, as the Silicon Valley giant is wont to protest, car fires are hardly new, gasoline being not exactly a fire retardant, and the internal combustion engine often producing its own fair share of fireballs. Neither is a safe situation. Neither is likely to leave much of a vehicle after the conflagration is over. And, other than the uniqueness of an electric vehicle going up in flames, neither should be, save for the Internet’s insatiable need for pyrotechnics – that should be read “sensationalism” this time – particularly newsworthy. What is new, what should be considered truly frightening, however, is the incredible difficulty fire crews are having in extinguishing some of these Tesla fires and, more alarming, the lengths they need to go to prevent said batteries from re-igniting.
  20. Wasn't a poster on Saintsweb a victim of that scumbag?
  21. Boeing have been faced with allegations of ill-fitting, illegal and dangerous parts for years. This is from 2010:- https://www.aljazeera.com/programmes/peopleandpower/2010/12/20101214104637901849.html .
  22. Well the kit looks ok but that video? What a load of pathetic, intelligence insulting drivel. Even that lot down the M27 would be embarrassed to let their name be associated with a video like that, not that they could afford to make one like it mind. .
  23. An inquest into a horrific two-car crash that left seven people dead found the driver repeatedly consumed synthetic cannabis throughout the day. The only survivor of the crash says she doesn't remember the collision that killed her two young daughters and her partner because she was "synnied out." On June 27 2018, seven people were killed when Jeremy Thompson's car drifted over the centerline outside the Taranaki town of Waverly NZ https://www.msn.com/en-nz/news/national/inquest-into-horror-crash-that-left-seven-dead-finds-driver-was-high-on-synthetics/ar-AABaxTw?li=BBqdg4K
  24. A Boeing insider involved in the design and development of the 737 Max, who is now an FBI informant in a criminal investigation into the company, said: “We were under pressure to minimise any changes to cut costs, and to get it done quickly. In my view Boeing was making decisions on the basis of share price.” In 2011, Boeing learned that American Airlines was about to order 200 A320 Neos – a newly re-engined plane from their biggest competitor Airbus. The revelation sent Boeing into a tailspin. In a desperate attempt to match its competition, Boeing pitched a new version of one of their most reliable aircraft – the Boeing 737, which had already been revamped multiple times since its launch in 1967. Impressed with the upgrade, dubbed the “737 Max” American Airlines agreed to split its new order between Airbus and Boeing. But as 60 Minutes revealed, upgrading the old 737 was easier said than done. The Max’s new fuel efficient engines were too big to fit beneath its 50-year-old body design – so they were moved forward and up. But Boeing discovered that moving the engines caused a lift effect that forced the plane’s nose up – risking a stall, which can cause an aircraft to literally fall from the sky. Boeing relied on the 737 Max not requiring airlines to upskill pilots. (60 Minutes) “Boeing knew the engine design and placement would make the aircraft pitch up, with an increased risk of stalling especially at low speed.’ the insider said. ‘But we were too close to certification to change the design,” Boeing’s fix came in the form of a computer program called MCAS - the Manoeuvring Characteristics Augmentation System. This new flight control system would automatically force the plane’s nose down if it detected an imminent stall. Critically, Boeing’s designers made MCAS reliant on just one sensor – contrary to most aircraft safety systems, which rely on two or more sensors.
